Question Cal. Kings

Over the years I have spent countless amounts of money on breeding projects ranging from Green Tree pythons to Designer Leopard Geckos.....Have bred more corn snakes than I should have and have even started Brookering Reptiles across the US.
I however keep returning to my first love....Cal. Kings, but not just any Cal. King, Albinos. The market for King snakes in general has always been good, but never great. It seems that Reptile owners want the flashiest thing on the block and unless you had a perfect 50/50 or a prefect striped king, babies were whole selling at $15-$20. I've spent the past 8 months buying all the Adult Albino Kings I could afford and am working with some other pairs that I have had for a few years. My goal is to consistantly produce a line of Snow or Blizzards from the 12 Albinos I currently have. And Yes, I have Both Male/Female of both types along with Striped/Banded all Albino, No normals w/ Het. (I feel it would be counter productive) August I'll have babies and hope that my genetic calculations are correct.

Hope to Help...feel free to ask Questions, sorry if I piss anyone off...I am just a little crazy when it comes to Cal. Kings

Ken

Cal Kings are really cool. I'm glad some people love the albino form. The twelve eggs I have incubating MIGHT have some albinos, but I bred the same two cals last year and had no albinos, so chances are one is not het for albino like I thought, which is fine. Personally I often look at albinos and try to do the "negative" thing, to see if I can imagine them in their beautiful colors. I often say "that would have been a beautiful snake if only it wasn't albino". hehe but then people do have their preferences. If I do get any albinos, it'll be great... because I won't have to agonize over whether they are keepers or not! All Albinos will go!

Anyway welcome to the forum. I certainly have a lot LESS experience than you. This year I have two cal kings one who just laid eggs last mother's day, and another due at any time. (or perhaps she's laying them now) I glanced over and see her sort of twisting around in her lay box.
