Although some people may interpret if differently from what it was designed for, I would rather not support that sort of usage in people's buying decisions by tying it in with a system where it really is not appropriate.

I agree. I myself have given people a "disagree" vote here and there, but it is just that, I disagree with their post for different reasons. Sometimes it's for things like profanity, other times just because I think they are way on the wrong (in my opinion) side of the fence, other times it is because they are outright @__holes, or unethical, etc. In the case it's because they are @__holes, or unethical, or whatever, I definitely wouldn't consider a purchase, but look at times when people like Dan S., and what's his name? (the crutchfield worshipper) I think he had some red for a while when he first started that crutchfield thread, but I don't think either of them, and some others, were ever "bad guys" as it pertains to the actual hobby.
