    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

:rofl: :rofl: I am not offended...I know it's true. :eek:

Men are simpler to understand..it doesn't take much. :rofl:

I'll try and see if I can close all my loop-holes. :yesnod:

I think about 1 in 10 who inquire about animals actually follow through and several of those that don't come with the line I am really interested just need to wait until such and such a date. I just count on it now so I am pleasantly surprised when someone actually follows through.

I'd really have to say that none of the options is really suitable for the poll. For one, you can't just let them slide....I'd be for getting my money back. However, sueing is never a great alternative: it takes money and time (neither of which I would throw away on a court case) to do such, and getting this sort of revenge is really...unfriendly. You never want to burn your bridges, just in case you encounter another business deal with them in the future. I would just work hard at figuring something out between me and whoever.

I mean, this really only applies in the circumstance that the trade has been made and their money isn't coming through...sorry, just wanted to clarify.

In the event of selling though, I always go with whoever can show me the cold hard cash first. Otherwise, you may get stuck with a flake by holding the animal for them and everybody else that offerred you real money found their animal elsewhere. It's not personal, it's business...I wonder if anyone recognizes that quote? lol.

Flakiness

When we offer up items for sale, one of the things we do is have them include their name, address, telephone number, email address and a good time to call before we will intiate contact. People who do that are more serious and less likely to flake, so that eliminates some right off the bat and it is all information we need to be able to send the animals anyways. We do not take paypal or credit cards or checks, postal money orders only. Because of that we will hold something for 2 days before putting theitem back up. A lot of people however even send payment next day. I personally have found that if I get upset over someone flaking it means I dont have enough sales or clientele. Because if I have a lot of sales going it takes the sting out of being flaked on. It also means I can just go to the next person on the list and tell them they can have the item..

For certain rare items like the Uracentron we would have limited waiting lists and charge people to be put on the list. The charge was non refundable and not applied to the purchase price. When the animals became available we would contact people in the order they were put on the list. If someone didnt want them we would move on to the next. Because they are such rare and desireable animals people were willing to pay the fees for a guaranteed shot at them. if payment was not received within 2 days The animals would be sold the next day after that. We have never needed to call more than three names down on a list. The fees paid insured that people were serious about the animals and also covered expenses incurred by flakiness of others. Since these were fees and not deposits people were more serious about their intentions. If someone flakes to me its a matter of character and with all the people willing to buy there is no need to deal with them.

I just had 2 seperate people not complete deals with me.
One was supposed to send a postal money order for an animal. He emailed me saying it went out. It never arrived and he has stopped responding.
The other haggled on price, I finally agreed to the lower price, the payment was supposed to be sent via paypal and days later no payment or replies to my PM's.

how about when you as a business set up a trade with another business and then when you get everything ready to ship they try to renegotiate the trade deal?? i had a trade lined up 2 of their boas for 1 of my high end boas and then after everything is ready i get the email "well after reconsideration i have decided that yours is only worth 1 of ours, if you still want to trade let me know" WTF? the deal was already made, how can you renegotiate on that? :shrug01:
