    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

One of my females layed one egg on 9/3 and still has one in her that she does not seem to try to push out.What can I do to help her,manual manipulation or a warm soak maybe?
She was bred on 2/21/07 at 1200 grams.A long time for sperm retention don't you think?

I would say a vet visit is in order. IMO, a warm soak isn't going to do much, and manual manipulation can do more harm than good if done improperly.

Again IMO....1200 grams is too small to even be breeding a female, this is the kind of problem that seems to occur when you breed an animal too small. I won't even CONSIDER breeding an animal under 1500-1600 grams, and then only if they are in absolute top shape and have enough age on them.

As far as the late clutch....I have one girl that laid in Spetember 2 years ago, bred at the same time as my other girls. She gained weight back very well, so I went ahead and bred her a bit later than my others....and last year she laid in October. Apparently some are just weird that way.... :shrug01:

I wouldn't go to the vet just yet...I saw multiple posts on other forums this past spring where females did this same thing. They dropped one egg then a few days later finished laying the rest of the clutch. I would give her until the weekend to see if she lays the remaining egg(s). Make sure she has a suitable dark place to lay that she feels safe in -- a hide box, a pile of nesting material, or something.

I agree with Cat on the weight -- 1200g is far too small to be bred. The minimum that almost every breeder abides by is 1500g.
