Courtesy...is it too much to friggin ask for?

I make an offer for some used racks, and then up the value of my offer the following week, and neither time did the person who is listing the racks make any attempt to reply to my offers. I know they read my PM's. I'm completely friendly and cordial in both communiques. I would have been satisfied with "sorry, but I can't accept your offer, it's too low for me"; or maybe "no thanks", "i'll consider it", or even "screw you"....SOMETHING! Nothing get's me more irritated than a lack of common courtesy.

Do you have a copy of the ad for the racks?

I agree, John.

When I get replies to an ad I post, I ALWAYS return emails/PMs about it, even when it's a really lowball offer, lol. (Not saying that yours was!) As you said, it's just common courtesy, as well as good business.

I suppose if it's something that is in such high demand that they are flooded with emails might be a bit more understandable.....but at least make a note on the ad or SOMETHING, at least to acknowledge that you contacted them.

Just write them off as someone not to contact in the future about an animal.
There is no reason not to respond to someone making a polite inquiry or offer.

What Steve said makes absolute sense. If the person doesn't have the courtesy to reply to your question forget about them. You are better off without them.

Regards,
