NRA and PIJAC: Perfect together?

After seeing some threads alluding to the NRA's consideration of opposing HR669, I decided to give their Institute for Legislative Action a call this morning. After mentioning my life membership, I asked them their stance on this bill. I had a very nice discussion with Susan Recce their, and to make a long story short, she gave me the number and contact name for their Federal Affairs Division, and asked that I forward it to PIJAC.

As it turns out, the PIJAC contact I spoke with knows and has worked with both Susan, and Chuck Cunningham (NRA Federal Affairs). Despite this, they have yet to really try to get the NRA on board. The PIJAC rep sounded very encouraged that the NRA was willing to listen, and I was told that they will be contacted today or tomorrow.

Here's where you all come in...now may be a good time for all NRA members to drop a short e-mail or phone call to other members you know, as well as any spokespersons with whom you have a good rapport. Don't nag or bug them...the ball is rolling, so it may be a good idea to let them know you support it.

Really? huh. I've got a lifetime membership, so I guess I better give them a call.
