As im starting up i realized i dont have a camera and have never owned one. What is a nice camera that takes quality pics of some thing like a bearded dragon. I need it to be able to focus on all scales of a leather but also need it to be not over expensive.Any suggestions, tips,or what do you guys use? Could you tell me what camera it is and maybe take a pic so i can see quality. Thanks

All my pics are with a Canon Powershot...sometimes I seem to be able to get great detail and other times it's not so clear. My camera was bought at Wal-Mart for $130.00 and $17.00 for a battery charger. Here are a few pics,2 taken outside and 2 [ my baby hatching and a cham. at a show] inside.

So Mac,you will have to narrow down what "not too expensive" is. Big difference in mine+ Brian's.

You might get more feedback in a more general section of the site...the majority of people that don't keep bearded dragons don't look in this particular forum.

I have a fairly good quality DSLR (Nikon D90), and it takes great pictures...but I do most of my reptile photos with a 6yr old, 5.1mp, point 'n' shoot. You don't need high megapixels to take great pictures; you just need to pick a camera that will meet your needs, and learn to use it.

Here are a few pics from my Olympus:

I've got a Fujifilm s1000fd

They take Ok pictures, if you know how to properly distance yourself enough for the zoom.

Here are some of my best pictures:

oh yeah, also the fujifilm s1000fd is usually around $150-180 at walmart, but I was lucky enough to find mine on sale for around $100.
