New Green Tree Python

I just bought a female green tree python. She is orange and is starting to turn green on the tip of her nose. The guy that owned her said she is 3 years old and that he had been feeding her one pinky mouse every two weeks. She looks very healthy, pretty (ok, in my opinion) and her housing was very clean (other animals in the house were also very clean) and was all included in the purchase.

Oh, BTW, this is my first snake, but she was easy to move out of her cage with slow movements and patience. I have changed her substrate and put in aspen. She is housed in a fairly large Exo-terra terrarium.

I'm at the "ok, now what?" stage...Any advice?

Its 3 and only getting fed a pinky every 2 weeks? She's way underfed imo. Or its not 3. And it looks and sounds to small for sexing. But gratz

I moved her up to a fuzzy. And plan to move to once a week if she will eat.

Does it look rather large in its belly? And don't go with a strict every week feeding on gtps. Make sure (s)he moves at night to help with digestion, and make sure there are poops in the cage.

Not a really big bulge. Maybe a little bigger than she normally is. She has been sitting most of the day. Should I encourage her to move around?

Id go with an even bigger meal. Go with a hopper or 2.

And no, she should move around at night.

So you bought an underfed, stunted, or potentially completely misrepresented GTP (one of the hardest snakes to raise/keep) as your first sake... i'd suggest you go on amazon.com, order The More Complete Chondro
by Greg Maxwell, and read it front to back ASAP.
