Types of humidifiers

My old humidifier quit on me and I am now struggling with 30-40% humidity. What are some humidifiers that have worked good for you? I was checking online and they have so many options its crazy. I am looking for something that can be ran all winter long, as in the summer I don't have this issue.

I use the little 1ish gallon ones and I hate it. They need to be filled every few hours. I went over a local members house and I think he had this huge Honeywell that held 5-10 gallons of water. It was really nice and humid in there. Totally humid too, not like within 10 feet of the humidifier, but equally in the entire room if that makes sense. He said it cost like $100 and will be my move for next winter.

Oh BTW, when my humidifiers run out of water, the humidity drops to like 15%

Thats good to know. I seen one that was programmable for $75, it held 5 gallons and you could set it to turn off/on whenever. I never thought about gallon size until now, I sure can't be adding water every few hours.

I also learned a neat little trick with the cheapo ones, if you add a little salt, they put out a lot more humidity but deplete quicker.
