bagel toppings?

Anyone got some faves? I'm about to make a batch and am looking for some new stuff to try.

We like shredded asiago, and poppy seeds.

Nothing better than the classic. A moderate amount of cream cheese, lox, shaved red onion and capers. Best bagel ever.

My kids used them in place of sandwich bread. They take sliced turkey, top w/ cheese and microwave to melt the cheese. Then, put it on a toasted bagel with cream cheese. Makes for a crunchy/gooey sandwich.

These all sound great. I'm a purist as far as what goes in them, just plain whipped cream cheese for me.

What do you like sprinkled on top, before they're baked?

Yes Lucille, I can make them. . Is was intimidating at first, but once you do that first batch you realize how easy they really are, and what you've been missing! I fill much of my time with baking and crafting, keeps me out of trouble. For the most part.

Purist .... I always thought I was a purist only using butter/margarine ...

Oh well.

As far as toppings prior to baking, I am partial to sesame seeds with garlic.
