Hello!
Either you have not registered on this site yet, or you are registered but have not logged in. In either case, you will not be able to use the full functionality of this site until you have registered, and then logged in after your registration has been approved.
Registration is FREE, so please register so you can participate instead of remaining a lurker....
Please note that the information requested during registration will be used to determine your legitimacy as a participant of this site. As such, any information you provide that is determined to be false, inaccurate, misleading, or highly suspicious will result in your registration being rejected. This is designed to try to discourage as much as possible those spammers and scammers that tend to plague sites of this nature, to the detriment of all the legitimate members trying to enjoy the features this site provides for them.
Of particular importance is the REQUIREMENT that you provide your REAL full name upon registering. Sorry, but this is not like other sites where anonymity is more the rule.
Also your TRUE location is important. If the location you enter in your profile field does not match the location of your registration IP address, then your registration will be rejected. As such, I strongly urge registrants to avoid using a VPN service to register, as they are often used by spammers and scammers, and as such will be blocked when discovered when auditing new registrations.
Sorry about all these hoops to jump through, but I am quite serious about blocking spammers and scammers at the gate on this site and am doing the very best that I can to that effect. Trust me, I would rather be doing more interesting things with my time, and wouldn't be making this effort if I didn't think it was worthwhile.

Shows
Ok!,
How many shows do you go to a year?
What percentage of shows do you "show" and "look"?
What is your favorite show?
What is your most profitable show?
I didn't post a poll, cause I wanted to hear your thoughts on this subject.

shows
I usually attend 4-6 shows per year as a vendor, and rarely get a chance to attend as a 'looker.' My favorite and most profitable show used to be the San Diego IRBA show, but the last one was actually the worst because the promoters keep raising the prices to vend there, and do very little to promote attendance.

When I used to live in southern Ca. I loved going to that show!
But it's been years since I've gone there, now that I live in the "reptile void" of North Idaho.

The IRBA show was a good show even up to a few years ago. Now it is very bad the show that will replace all in CA will be this one.
http://www.narbc.com/htm_la/vendor_list.htm
I can remember when all the bigger vendors came to San Diego well now they are back. Just take a look at who will be comming. I think this will be the only show I will sell at after this year.

When I say "VOID" I also mean in the wild!
In our area we have no Poisoness snakes at all (no poison oak or poison Ivy, or any thing like that, also!!!) We only have rubber boa's (which I've only found one) & garter snakes) by the thousands!
Only small species of Alligator Lizards & blue tail skinks . Thats all I have ever come across in our area. But thats another thread!
I don't think we have any good shows up my way, except seattle.

IRBA show in SD
I loved that show when I lived in San Diego, of course that was almost ten years ago. So long ago that at the time Sticky Tongue farms still sold Chameleons and Steve just started selling Miner-All, it was sold in ziplock bags at his table at the show......
I try and do most of the Eastern PA. shows and Chip puts on a good show in Northern Va.
As far as profit, most of my sales come from the internet. I'm happy when I can break even at a show. I enjoy doing the shows because it affords the opportunity to talk to a lot of other herp lovers in person.
