How many roaches can a leo eat?

How many lobster roaches do your leos eat in one session?

I'm still trying to let my colony grow, so I'm only feeding them sparingly to my leos. The most I've ever given any leo was 3 or 4 adult roaches as a treat, but I stopped before they would refuse and waste a roach. It looked like they would've kept on eating them though. Even the leos that never come out to chase their prey went nuts running around the tank.

I actually had a couple roaches get out because I accidentally dropped the egg carton they were on. I managed to catch one before it had time to collect its wits, but the other crawled under my leo's tank. Luckily I was able to lure it out with a vegetable, but yeesh, it was so nerve-wrecking. Good thing my mom didn't find out.

I usually feed about 5 or 6 per gecko, babies and adults. I just use smaller or larger roaches to fit the size of the gecko. I try to only feed the nymphs not the adults as they are the producers. I started with 250 in late January and now I have several thousand, so they multiple very fast!

Bummer! At least you caught all the ones that got out. That would become a big deal if they started multiplying outside their containers.

Well, I try to pick the smaller adults hoping they're not female. Right now I have a TON of babies. I just need to wait for them to grow up. :P
