Unhappy Help with Rat problem.

I need some help. I breed my own rats, and have been doing great.
My difficulty is that out of a litter of 10 juvi rats that I moved to the garage
bins is dying off like flies! I have other bins in the garage as well but those contain my breeding adults.
I am seeing large wounds in the abdominal area, just ripped open. One had it's legs ripped open and twisted backwards. What is killing my rats ?
They have a wood framed screen lid on a concrete type tub. I can not see anyway for any thing to get in with them.
Any ideas that you all might have let me know. I need to find out what it is so I can keep my rats safe.

Ginger, I used to have pet rats, I never bred them though. I did however experience cannibalism with a pair of female mice once. The one female completely ATE the other small sickly one. This is only a guess, but there could be a problem individual in the group. If you are sure nothing can get in to attack them, I would check each one for blood and injuries. How many did you say you keep per bin and what size is the bin? Make sure there is enough space and food. Rats stress easy with close quarters and lack of something to keep them busy. Keep us posted. Good luck!

There were 9 juvi rats in the bin and they have a huge amount of room.
I lost three on the first day, and three more today. I have no clue, they were all housed together from the date of birth. The bin they are in is 20 x larger than the birthing cages I use. So space it not an issue. they have constant food and water supply.
As I said I am just clueless.

Had the same thing happen. Finally figured out that during the day the temperature in the garage climbed to over 100 degrees. Stressed them out = cannibalism.

Figured it out......

I am a retard..........One of my adult kids "borrowed" my fan that I
keep out in the garage to cool that area.
Seems the rats were not cannibals. They died from the heat, then the heat
caused the body to swell and explode !
That is just sick. I was not a happy Mommy to say the least. If they had asked I would have given them a fan from somewhere else. All they would have had to do is call me at work. But no they go into my garage like they still live here and take my stuff. I should charge them rent on the fan and for 6 breeder rats.
I never realized the fan was gone till this morning, I was so worried about the rats, it never dawned on me, until it just hit me "hey where is the fan?"
For parents of young children that ask does it get better.............................. no just diffrent. Ahhhhhhhhhhhh
