how do tiger ratsnakes take to handling?

Well to quell the association to Rat Snakes, Tiger Rat Snake is just one of their common names, Spilotes pullatus is not really a Rat Snake species.
To answer your question, they are about like most primarily arboreal snakes. Some will adapt to handling others won't. Of the three we have they run the gambit from willingly tolerating handling to actively protesting handling.
