    =====================

    I am still waiting on my developer to finish up on the Classifieds Control Panel so I can use it to encourage members into becoming paying members. Google Adsense has become a real burden on the viewing of this site, but honestly it is the ONLY source of income now that keeps it afloat. I tried offering disabling the ads being viewed by paying members, but apparently that is not enough incentive. Quite frankly, Google Adsense has dropped down to where it barely brings in enough daily to match even a single paid member per day. But it still gets the bills paid. But at what cost?

    So even without the classifieds control panel being complete, I believe I am going to have to disable those Google ads completely and likely disable some options here that have been free since going to the new platform. Like classified ad bumping, member name changes, and anything else I can use to encourage this site to be supported by the members instead of the Google Adsense ads.

    But there is risk involved. I will not pay out of pocket for very long during this last ditch experimental effort. If I find that the membership does not want to support this site with memberships, then I cannot support your being able to post your classified ads here for free. No, I am not intending to start charging for your posting ads here. I will just shut the site down and that will be it. I will be done with FaunaClassifieds. I certainly don't need this, and can live the rest of my life just fine without it. If I see that no one else really wants it to survive neither, then so be it. It goes away and you all can just go elsewhere to advertise your animals and merchandise.

    Not sure when this will take place, and I don't intend to give any further warning concerning the disabling of the Google Adsense. Just as there probably won't be any warning if I decide to close down this site. You will just come here and there will be some sort of message that the site is gone, and you have a nice day.

    I have been trying to make a go of this site for a very long time. And quite frankly, I am just tired of trying. I had hoped that enough people would be willing to help me help you all have a free outlet to offer your stuff for sale. But every year I see less and less people coming to this site, much less supporting it financially. That is fine. I tried. I retired the SerpenCo business about 14 years ago, so retiring out of this business completely is not that big if a step for me, nor will it be especially painful to do. When I was in Thailand, I did not check in here for three weeks. I didn't miss it even a little bit. So if you all want it to remain, it will be in your hands. I really don't care either way.

    =====================
    Some people have indicated that finding the method to contribute is rather difficult. And I have to admit, that it is not all that obvious. So to help, here is a thread to help as a quide. How to become a contributing member of FaunaClassifieds.

    And for the record, I will be shutting down the Google Adsense ads on January 1, 2025.
  • Responding to email notices you receive.
    **************************************************
    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Brother, sister allegedly smuggled rare boa constrictor into US (Jeremy Stone)

realy people its just about money im sure they will come to a deal and everything will be fine .

did you all forget about the first albino burmese pythons also stolen from out of country

For anyone interested in reading the Lacey Act, I've attached a PDF to this reply. Please note the section about forfeiture. Think on that for a moment....

I am not sure that the offspring would be subject to forfeiture since they are not necessarily under the lacey act. the boa from Belize is almost certainly in violation but since the offspring are not of a prohibited species, it may not be clear that they are in violation of the lacey act from my reading (despite their dubious origin). there are lots of portions which refer to the the sale and transport of animals taken or imported illegally, and sections regarding the offspring of prohibited species. But i do not see sections regarding the offspring of non-prohibited species that were taken illegally. I am not sure that the section regarding the purchase of animals that were taken/imported illegally even would apply since the offspring were presumably transported within the statutes of the lacey act.

Just noticed that Jeremy posted an update on his site a few days ago, regarding this case. Thought I'd share it.

"We have come to a Resolution with the United State in the Case of USA vs. Jeremy Stone. We Apologize for any Harm and Embarrassment this has caused my family, the Reptile Community and my Country. Our Indictment has been dropped with our Agreement.

We will NOT discuss any facts of the case due to pending litigation in a foreign South American nation, and we will defend those allegations.

We entered an agreement with the USA and we will abide by the terms the USA has set forth.

In Short: USA promises Jeremy Stone not to seize anymore animals from Jeremy Stone, or go after any Customers I have sold animals to as part of the PRINCESS DIAMOND PROJECT. I will not be allowed to use Import/Export Licenses for the period of One year. The USA has agreed to Drop the Indictment and Felony Counts against Jeremy or Kara Stone.

We appreciate the support of our Family, Friends, and Customers during this difficult time. We are allowed to Run our business as Normal. We are satisfied with our Legal Team, and we hold no ill will towards the USA in this matter. We agree to their terms, and they have agreed to ours.

As I have publicly said before in my youtube channel, we have retired this Male from breeding back in 2012. I will explain the genetics of this and other projects in Due time shortly.

We will NOT TAKE MEDIA CALLS or comment to Outlets, as many have not gotten it right. We don't agree with the book that is written about Jeremy and will call it FICTION. We still have some litigation to do. However, today is a day of Peace.

Make sure you go check out all our Auctions that close tonight on the ring.

Thank You, Jeremy Stone"

I didn't think I was going to get involved with this at all, but I wanted to share:

On Facebook recently, in some boa constrictor group, the Stones posted an image of a princess diamond boa. I commented on the picture with some reference to it being smuggled - can't find it anymore, so I don't know what I said exactly, but something simple and silly like, "Smuggled animals get out". I then got an inbox message from Jeremy Stone and when I blocked him, from Kara (now blocked as well). Both are attached.

Apparently they are trying to scare people from spreading the news that they are involved in this ordeal by threatening lawsuits. Where have we seen that before? Hmmm? Nowhere on this website, I'm sure :rolleyes::shootfoot

It's strong-arming and stupid, and reflects on the character of these individuals. It irks me that they think they can bully (17?) people into being quiet, but makes me mostly laugh that they threaten lawsuit over a private message statement that I made intentionally generic.

So, anyone else "Captured on Screenshot"?

It's obvious he smuggled it in based on reading what Brazilian investigators uncovered but the one thing they haven't disclosed is how or where the animal slipped into the country. The argument isn't about whether the animal would've lived if they had not broken the law which I'm sure they ended up saving the animal's life but that's not the issue. It was illegal what they did and should of had to serve time, just like anyone else, reputable breeder or not, for their crime. I don't know why or how they both got off with just a slap on the wrist for committing a federal offense it just proves that there's no equal justice here in the US.

What an intelligent and rational response, you've convinced me.

I'm sorry - did this conversation include YOU? Why then, are you not minding your own business? Oh, that's right - it's a public forum. (You knew that, right?)
You might want to tone down the tough guy nonsense - part of your post could easily be perceived as a threat.

:rofl: Way to go! Dredging up a long dead thread to post such laughable dung.

Dang, now I got Ghost Busters theme song stuck in my head ... "I ain't scared of no feds". Thanks for the chuckle.
