    I am still waiting on my developer to finish up on the Classifieds Control Panel so I can use it to encourage members into becoming paying members. Google Adsense has become a real burden on the viewing of this site, but honestly it is the ONLY source of income now that keeps it afloat. I tried offering disabling the ads being viewed by paying members, but apparently that is not enough incentive. Quite frankly, Google Adsense has dropped down to where it barely brings in enough daily to match even a single paid member per day. But it still gets the bills paid. But at what cost?

    So even without the classifieds control panel being complete, I believe I am going to have to disable those Google ads completely and likely disable some options here that have been free since going to the new platform. Like classified ad bumping, member name changes, and anything else I can use to encourage this site to be supported by the members instead of the Google Adsense ads.

    But there is risk involved. I will not pay out of pocket for very long during this last ditch experimental effort. If I find that the membership does not want to support this site with memberships, then I cannot support your being able to post your classified ads here for free. No, I am not intending to start charging for your posting ads here. I will just shut the site down and that will be it. I will be done with FaunaClassifieds. I certainly don't need this, and can live the rest of my life just fine without it. If I see that no one else really wants it to survive neither, then so be it. It goes away and you all can just go elsewhere to advertise your animals and merchandise.

    Not sure when this will take place, and I don't intend to give any further warning concerning the disabling of the Google Adsense. Just as there probably won't be any warning if I decide to close down this site. You will just come here and there will be some sort of message that the site is gone, and you have a nice day.

    I have been trying to make a go of this site for a very long time. And quite frankly, I am just tired of trying. I had hoped that enough people would be willing to help me help you all have a free outlet to offer your stuff for sale. But every year I see less and less people coming to this site, much less supporting it financially. That is fine. I tried. I retired the SerpenCo business about 14 years ago, so retiring out of this business completely is not that big if a step for me, nor will it be especially painful to do. When I was in Thailand, I did not check in here for three weeks. I didn't miss it even a little bit. So if you all want it to remain, it will be in your hands. I really don't care either way.

    And for the record, I will be shutting down the Google Adsense ads on January 1, 2025.

    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Matt, you are very mistaken about Dennis Hultman, not only is he a pillar in the reptile industry, but one of the nicest people I have had the pleasure of meeting. Have you ever done business with him matt?? If you had, then you would know that he has never lived in AZ.

I would love to see this thread stay, grow, and flourish on the BOI. Those of us who know and have done business with Dennis understand that this will be taken in the spirit that it was intended. Mean and spiteful. Way over the top matt......how truly sad and pathetic!
 
Matt, I don't know if you have a drinking problem, drug problem, or simply need medication as you have done a complete 180 degree's since the last time you and I have spoke. I once considered you a friend and someone to whom I was honored to know. I no longer consider myself that fortunate.

You are single handedly ruining your reputation and whereas I once considered you a good guy, I know how to remove my vote and cast it in the negative. I would encourage anyone else to consider a similar move.

What's the shortest verse in the Bible Matt? That's right.....Jesus wept. Way to go Matt, way to go.

Matt what happened??? I have seen you begin to melt down on other threads and have done great business with you in the past. You used to be outgoing friendly, and decent. This whole thing seems(and is) extremely uncalled for. I don't know Dennis, but regardless there are no grounds for this other than spite which is not a noble quality anywhere. You really should apoligize because what you have done is wrong. I know I am nobody big and have only done maybe $400 in business with you, but I dont know that I would anymore seeing the way you have acted as of late. You are losing all of those on here who supported you all along. Come back to the light my friend and get it together!!!!! I think everyone would be happy to see you apologize and move on towards rebuilding what damage this may have done. Everyone has their issues, problems ect, but it is the true good guys that do whatever it takes to make them right and apologizing is the first step. Make it right and lets all move on. I wish you and all involved my very best, Dan M.
 
Matt, I just can't let this go without saying one more thing. There is a saying that I try to live my life by. While I do fail, probably more times then not, it's still advice worth hearing.

Do you know what character is, Matt? It's who you are when nobody is looking. If you are so willing to make yourself look like this in public then I have to wonder what your personal life is like. I don't know why and at this point, can't say that I care, but you're going downhill and you're doing it fast. That used to trouble me and I figure it was simply a bad time for you and that you would quickly pull things out. But, you've haven't. You've continued this downhill spiral to where people that considered you a friend no longer want to associate with you.

Character Matt, it's all about character. Without it, you have nothing.

even though this isnt the dennis hes talking about, can someone explain a little more in detail what it means to conduct buisness without an active licsense? is that for pet store owners, or am i really just on the stupid pole right now?

Keep on pushing away everyone that mistaken you for a good man. Keep on pushing and shoving, like a 9 year old who wants a toy in a store, because when push comes to shove - You will have no one to blame but yourself.

If you are going to be a vendor of any kind in most States they require you to get a permit or license for tax purposes. It is like doing the monthly herp shows here in Indy. Every breeder/vendor there with a booth is supposed to have a Indiana State Business License with their tax ID number.

Of course every State is different and the laws are going to vary somewhat from State to State.

I don't know what license this Dennis failed to renew but I doubt it has anything to do with reptiles. Even if it was me it still would be wrong to start a thread on in this forum. It doesn't pertain to anything here.
 
Wow sorry Dennis you didn't deserve this at all.

This recent loss of control by Matt reminds me of someone who just one day decided to no longer take their Meds.. Time to get some help Matt..

I have to say this is just pathetic Matt. Dennis is a great guy and has proven himself to be a man of character that myself and others respect. You on the other hand, appear to have been all "smoke and mirrors". It seems that others have finally caught on. Griz is right, it's all about character. It's pretty sad really.

by the way, if it was at a vendor like Sammy was saying, dont they look at all that stuff when you sign up for the booth?

For Matt to back up anything he would need a spine . Currently the wild hair he has is holding him up but barely. The yellow streak is there it seems. Unfortunately it doesn't look like any spine will be producing itself anytime soon. This whole thread reeks of a child like tantrum on the play ground.
