    I am still waiting on my developer to finish up on the Classifieds Control Panel so I can use it to encourage members into becoming paying members. Google Adsense has become a real burden on the viewing of this site, but honestly it is the ONLY source of income now that keeps it afloat. I tried offering disabling the ads being viewed by paying members, but apparently that is not enough incentive. Quite frankly, Google Adsense has dropped down to where it barely brings in enough daily to match even a single paid member per day. But it still gets the bills paid. But at what cost?

    So even without the classifieds control panel being complete, I believe I am going to have to disable those Google ads completely and likely disable some options here that have been free since going to the new platform. Like classified ad bumping, member name changes, and anything else I can use to encourage this site to be supported by the members instead of the Google Adsense ads.

    But there is risk involved. I will not pay out of pocket for very long during this last ditch experimental effort. If I find that the membership does not want to support this site with memberships, then I cannot support your being able to post your classified ads here for free. No, I am not intending to start charging for your posting ads here. I will just shut the site down and that will be it. I will be done with FaunaClassifieds. I certainly don't need this, and can live the rest of my life just fine without it. If I see that no one else really wants it to survive neither, then so be it. It goes away and you all can just go elsewhere to advertise your animals and merchandise.

    Not sure when this will take place, and I don't intend to give any further warning concerning the disabling of the Google Adsense. Just as there probably won't be any warning if I decide to close down this site. You will just come here and there will be some sort of message that the site is gone, and you have a nice day.

    I have been trying to make a go of this site for a very long time. And quite frankly, I am just tired of trying. I had hoped that enough people would be willing to help me help you all have a free outlet to offer your stuff for sale. But every year I see less and less people coming to this site, much less supporting it financially. That is fine. I tried. I retired the SerpenCo business about 14 years ago, so retiring out of this business completely is not that big if a step for me, nor will it be especially painful to do. When I was in Thailand, I did not check in here for three weeks. I didn't miss it even a little bit. So if you all want it to remain, it will be in your hands. I really don't care either way.

    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

takes your money . and no dragons stay away from him . after several times to contact him he will not return emails you will see him on posting what great guys he bought from but he wont send the merchandice you payed for and wont give back your money . ...........done this befor . not only to me .....:angry::angry:

yes i met memnoch1970 on fauna clasifyeds on bearded dragones for sale cheap , they were bred from a translucent . it was an old ad from september . but posted again , i thought he had some left to sell , i do have several emails from him saying he has my dragons i bought two total $120 he cashed my check and never heard from him again , i see he has had new posts on fauna, i do have the check with his signature , he has done this to another guy also , he will not respond to any emails, i never did this befor please tell me how i send you my emails , from the looks of it all he is doin is taking money for dragons he dont have ,
 
Please share those e-mail conversations you had with him.
 
on 10/19 memnoch said he got my check and was out of town working for a fue days , he also said he would be sending out my dragons as soon as he got back , in the mean time he reposted his ad for the dragons . on the nineteth he told someone he had 10 dragons left, befor that he told me he had only a fue,,,,,he resopnded to all emails until he got my money . now puff he magicaly dont see me .

Do you have any proof of your claims?
As has already been mentioned posting copies of the emails between you would go a long way toward making your claim credible.
Without any proof you are just someone crying wolf.
 
My experience was different. I dealt with memnoch1970 a while back, bought some bromeliads from him for some terrariums I have. They were very nice, sent timely, and he was pleasant and easy to deal with. His prices were very competitive and the shipping was reasonable.
 
I responded to the ad Chris had on the beardies for sale section. I bought five about three weeks ago and sent Paypal to, supposedly his girlfriend's Paypal account. I got those and a few days later decided I wanted five more, so I contacted him again and he told me his girlfriend was in Europe so I had to send him a money order. I sent the money order, asked him if he recieved it, he told me yes in an email and that they would be shipped last Monday. I emailed him Monday for a tracking number and have not heard from him since. I email him everyday and call and get his voicemail. I also check this site everyday to see if he has been here and he visits the site almost everyday. So he no excuse for being detained or incapacitated.
 
Well, I do know now the memnoch1970 who posted about the familly death & having to go out of town is the same as advertised the beardies here. He has the same ad and photos there at TalktotheFrog as he does here and uses the same email addy (memnoch1970@yahoo). As for his claims, his family or anything else about the man, I know nothing.

no one is blowing smoke . we just want our dragons , and we are asking for help in getting them , i think scott also wants his dragons or also his money at this point . we are just asking for pointers from anyone that would possibly know how to get our money back . or atleast what we can do to stop such spamming . this isnot good for fauna , makes buyers not want to buy and without buyers well thats what fauna is about isnt it?
 
At this point, I want my money back. He has proven untrustworthy and I don't want anything ever again from him, just my money back.

On the frog forum link posted previously, on October 19 at 0352 Mr. Sulwer said he had a death in the family and had to go to St. Louis for about 3 weeks.

Now I am not making excuses for him, I’m a little peeved at him myself because he never responded to my requests on multiple forums for more information on some moss he was peddling, but it is plausible that he did indeed have a death in the family and is caught up in settling family matters.
Not that that would excuse his allowing his customers to wait with no word but it could be the reason.
