What a end to 2017 and start of 2018.

Well we had the huge Thomas Fire on my back door at the end of this year which sadly cost the home of a friend of mine but the flooding that followed this new year has been devastating. Basically we have one way out of my area the 101 fwy which was down both directions for many days and still down going north. Are only exist is south. Hopefully Northbound will be cleared within a week.

The tragic lose of lives with this flooding in my area can't compare to the inconveniences I have had but somethings to consider going forward. I want my regular landline phone back for starters!

Bundle deals are great for one bill but also limiting when things go wrong.

I think it was 15 years ago we bundled the landline, cable and internet into one bill so the landline now operates on the cable, internet modem. Well the flood took out cox and my cell service tower. No house phone, cable, internet or cell service for days. Only means to information was the radio and being landlocked reduces information flow to almost nothing. I think I need to diversify and at least have a working wired telephone that requires no electricity in house at minimum. Just something to think about.

Hope things get better for your Dennis.

Yeah, does seem like an awful lot of the communications options are becoming virtually eggs all in one basket lately. I too dropped my land line for VOIP, so if the internet service goes, so do those lines. Still got cellular, but that service seems rather fragile to me concerning external disruptions. At least out in the boonies where we are located. Would be kind of awkward having to walk outside during a full blown hurricane if I needed a stronger cell signal.

Good luck with all that. That is really disruptive and hope it ends soon.

Yes, hang in there Dennis and hope things start getting better sooner than later.
