    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them.     Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Although the authorities seem to be doing little of nothing I think today's letter I received shows at least we have someone interested in greasing the wheels. I'm sure the information will be acknowledged when forwarded by authorities to the Wises local authorities.
 
I got a letter from the WV AG a while back, then heard nothing else. :shrug01: How much does someone have to make off with before the authorities become genuinely interested in taking them down?

Why would you get a letter from the WV AG regarding the Wises maybe it's me but it doesn't sound like the proper department in dealing with the said matters. :shrug01:

Why would her getting a letter from the West Virginia (Her current state) Attorney General be any different than you getting a letter from The Pennsylvania (your current state) Attorney General? :confused:

That is WONDERFUL NEWS!!!

I know we've all been frustrated by the seeming lack of action being taken on this case, but with the sheer volume of info on this thread alone, paired with the forms being submitted by those involved, it doesn't surprise me that it's taken the investigators time to come up to speed on this!!

And they can't just accept at face value what we say!!! What if this were a case of a forum trying to hang someone out to dry??

Look at how easy it was for "not the sharpest pencil in the drawer" Christina to manufacture the check.

If there were a whole forum out to get the Wises...imagine how easy it would be to manufacture evidence...especially since most of us have a full compliment of brain-cells to rub together.

They have to have proof that a crime was committed-and now that they've confirmed there was, things should really move quickly!!

Patience is a virtue!!

While I agree it is great news that someone has received some sort of confirmation that there is more than a monkey on the other end of the computer receiving the IC3 complaints it is frustrating that everyone who had filed a complaint hasn't received news. Steve and Shadera received confirmation before those who filed prior to them. Are they starting at the end and working their way backwards? :shrug01: Sounds like our government to me. :angry:

Nonetheless, frustrated or not we need to keep on this so these two don't slip through the cracks. Lets have it so they are the only ones throwing their hands up in the air (prior to getting the cuffs slapped on!).

She drove me nuts, calling all the time. It's a good thing I didn't let her help me with my website design afterall.

On another note: I've never seen a longer thread in my life. =] And it makes me happy that so many people care and are trying to get them put away where they belong.

Hey Dave, next month at the Birmingham show down here in Alabama, I might have some of those flyers at my table. The South needs to be aware as well. :yesnod: At least the educated portion *is embarassed to live here*.

Any an all exposure about these two would be appreciated. I wouldn't want someone down there to get scammed or purchase an animal from them. I want them to be famous and known from coast to coast for the scamming pieces of detritus they are. If you need the flyer in jpeg or in a Word document let me know and I will send it to you. :thumbsup:

I have managed to slog through all 220 pages now. (Holy CRAP!)

As a mother of 4, and an Army wife I understand hard times, but there is no excuse for that type of behavior. NONE. Never was, I was amazed to see how long people were willing to let them off if they just gave the money back, or made restitution some how.
From the second they made the decision not to send the money, they were wrong and nothing they did after that point would change that.
If I steal a car and then get caught with it, and it goes back to the owner, and I go to jail. When I get out, is it not still wrong to have done it in the first place? No, it is wrong forever, and from that point on no one would ever fully trust me alone with their stuff.

Forwhat it's worth, I have been relaying this story to friends and Herpers in Minnesota (my home state) and Colorado (where my husband is currently stationed with the Army) it's not much but some are military and can send notice to their families and friends all over the country.

Even people not in the herp world and wouldn't come to this forum or go to a show are being made aware of this, it may help prevent them from doing this to other forums, these kind of people would never stop at just 2 forums. They will try again, easy money is too tempting and as sad as it is, that is all this was to them, and easy way to make some money.

I am not speaking for anyone else, but I had absolutely no intention of letting them off. Prior to bringing this here I was attempting to persuade them to make good by paying the money or surrendering animals to be sold to pay the money owed but I had absolutely no intention of letting it rest there. I would have still brought it here as well as gone to the authorities had they paid the money or surrendered the animals. Were they to pay the money today I would still do as I did yesterday, which was display and distribute the flyer and tell the story of the couple who stole money from a widow and her 3 children in their time of need. In my book there is no one lower then these two and I will haunt them until I am unable to do so. I do not forgive and I certainly do not forget and I will do my best to make sure no one else forgets what these two have done. I will make sure that these two cannot sell a single animal to anyone, anywhere. If they had a lick of sense between the two of them they'd surrender the animals but apparently they don't. :NoNo:

Yesterday I gave some of the flyers to two different people who live in the same city as them and they intend to let all the people they know about what the Wises have done.
