In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

First clutch ever! VIDEO and pic's! HATCH!!!!!!!

LoL yeah sorry guys, I didn't even know she had eggs being I'm so new to snakes. Sorry about that, I just hope I can hatch them. And then it is up to you guys to tell me what I have haha.. I know you can do it, with Dustin telling you what males he bred her to lol..

I want a male albino so bad I can't stand it lol, making me nuts. I'm about to TRY and trade for one, I've got some leos, orange and trans dragons, and some corns. At this point I'd give it all for an albino, they are just too pretty. My Birthday is in 2 days. I keep hoping BUT no one in my family like reptiles but me, a huge family too, kinda odd.

HELPLESS!!!!!!

Well today was the day I got my heart REALLY broken, I feel so sick to my stomach from crying and have a headache. It has just been a terrible horrible week.

I cut the best worse looking egg this morning and it seems I cut too late or I might have been able to say it.

The snake looks fine, looks like it was ready just DEAD.
I wanted one soooo bad it so hurts that is was my one and only chance to get one, unless I send a female off to get bred again!

I cut the other egg as well and touched the snakes chin and he opened his mouth so I hope he/she comes up out of there in the next few days and does live, it is a little NORMAL. And my albino is dead. I am sure there were more albinos.

I know that I have never felt so bad and so small over a reptile in my life nor cried so much over one.

But looking at this picture really hurts I carried the snake around for 45 minutes telling it I was so sorry!

This will be one that I won't get over.

I need to know from DJ and Melinda if the little normal will be 100% het albino or something else?

Thank you Melinda for breeding her to your albino guy and thank you very much DJ for my lovely Layla.
And truly sorry for the disappointment!

But it seems Melinda did win this one, she made a bet that her albino was the baby daddy, right on!

Amanda

RIP!!!

Also is there anything else I need to do for the little normal at this point other than keep it humid? Will it just come out on it's own? I am so worried I can't help but want to go check on it every 10 minutes!!!

I am sorry for your loss.

Information to use later: At 88 degrees one can not depend on the 56 day to hatch day time line 88 degrees is a bit cool. 89/90 and not higher than 92 is optium hatching temps from my experience.

IMO the Normal can not be labeled 100% het albino. He possibly could actually be 100% het albino, but he can not be sold as one because the female was bred with several females.

For example, I have had a few "multi clutches" this year. One was Spider and Fire to Normal female. The clutch resulted in Spiders and Fires and Normals. Now, IF I had put an Albino to the female, I would have NO way of knowing if any of the Normals were 100% het albino until I proved them out.

I would keep it back and prove out. IMO, it would be unethical to try and sell it as a 100% het Albino (not that you would...just saying).

*The remaining baby will come out on its own if it survives the cutting.

Deb, temps were took up to 90 and it scared me a few times because it almost hit 91 and I was told that 91 and above was bad and would kill them so it went from 89.9 to 90 and 2-3 times hit 91 but didn't stay that way long, I check it 50 times a day it seems I even keep up with it at night.

As for the het, I just wanted to know as I will NOT be selling my first and only baby that I hatched.

I was going to give Dustin an albino just for the great deal I got from him and offer Melinda one since her male bred Layla IF they hatched but it didn't happen that way.
I was not panning to sell any.

I was told to cut at day 55 but wasn't going to till I seen how bad the eggs were today well this morning and now I feel bad, I mean you can tell that albino was alive just days ago!

And I guess it is a normal, I'm new at this but it has the colors of a normal from the slit.

Amanda, as usual, Deborah is spot-on with her advice (except the female x female breeding as female x female breeding never produce anything viable :p)

One thing though, dont blame your cutting on the problem without knowing for sure. There are some people, occasionally including me, that dont snip their eggs whatsoever. It could have been the humidity, temps, too wet, etc... Doesnt have to mean its the cut.

The real nice thing about your situation is that you NOW have a proven het albino that will produce for you in the future. ;)

Exactly! I always say, "I'm not going to cut my NEXT clutch"...but I ALWAYS do. And on occasion when I've had eggs that were looking REALLY bad, I've cut them before day #52, only because they had started deteriorating quickly and I figured I would lose them anyway. Sometimes there's just nothing you can do. It's one of the few downsides to breeding

Good luck with your little survivor. You can always breed him back to mom next year and, if he proves to be het, you should still get yourself an albino, maybe two!!

Speaking of clutches Amanda, my het albino laid her eggs night before last. Didnt even thought she took because she had no signs of being gravid until Saturday when "all of my snakes ate" but the gravid ones. I could only tell she was gravid, shes a fatty, because she had that "gravid hiss" when I tried to feed her. Fatty laid 7 eggs with 5 viable ones. Chances are, I will NOT snip her eggs as I am a wuss when it comes to cutting.
