In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Just to elaborate a little, I boughts this boy in daytona as a axanthic pin. Dont know what it is really as I have heard everything from I.M.G., to vpi axanthic, to an imported snake, to a pin that lost its color. LOL!! This boy has seem to spark a little discussion in a previous thread and I hope it can continue here.
Thanks

I'm seeing a bit too much yellow on the head shot and near the belly in the last pic to be able to confidently say I believe it is VPI axanthic (along the back as well). It is not unheard of for balls to lose some of their colour in a shed, so that is a possibility. Additionally, the IMG theory seems to be valid as well. I honestly don't think you'll get your answer until you've had this animal for a couple years and have watched its colouration progress, or have bred it to prove it out. Regardless, beautiful animal and good luck with him.

not sure about the IMG theory even though they get darker as they get older I believe it is way to faded to have the IMG gene. I think it may be axanthic but not VPI line there are several lines with varying degree of yellowing that comes thru VPI having the least amount if there is any brown then i would say not axanthic but very hard to tell from pictures.

Looking at it in Daytona the first thing I saw was an IMG Pin. I was the guy at the table when you showed it to Sean and he agreed with me. Its got yellow in it and if you look at an axanthic pin as a baby they don't even look close to this. Pinstripes do tend to get darker and an older Axanthic Pin wouldn't get lighter...they'd be darker and more brown. I can almost guarantee if you got a picture from the breeder of this snake as a baby out of the egg it would have looked like a normal pinstripe.

Here's a spider and a pastel of Bob Clarks in 04 that did the same thing...

Yes I agree I did make it over to jarreds table at daytona and he got out his axanthic lemon blast and they looks very very similar even with the yellow in them... Dont get me wrong I am not saying this is an axanthic lemon blast! This guy is just cool looking to me and I look forward dinking around with him. Just seeing what you guys thought.
Thanks for the reply

Unless that pin stays that color for an extended period of time, you cannot call it an IMG. It is also not an axanthic. For now, it is a pin that has lost it's color. I have seen the exact same thing happen with a spider. Eventually it retained it's color after a few sheds. I also sold a normal a few years ago that turned white and black after it was a little older. The guy I sold it to didn't know what happened. It eventually changed back as well. IMG is gradual over time and permanent. This quick total change is unrelated to the IMG gene. It's a quirk were some animals lose the color but eventually it comes back. It is still a cool animal but not genetic from what I have seen as well as what others have seen with this shift.

Thanks for the reply! I guess I got screwed out of a good little chunk of change then. Hmmm figured there would be honest people at the daytona expo. Guess I was wrong! Oh well, hes worth dinking with.

Thanks for the input, Steve. I wouldn't want anyone to be led down the wrong path and mistaking animals for IMGs just based on colors.

Trader Rating: (0) I was responding to this response when I asked for a pic of it as a hatchling. Plus the IMG doesn't have a set time of revealing itself...it happens from babies to adults. I've seen it happen many times over the years. Jeremy that could be a possibility if it was a hatchling but after 2 or 3 sheds they color up to a more normal coloring.

It did fool me, I thought it was an AX myself..I totally forgot about the incidental color changes that happen.

Figured I would give a little update on this guy. Looks like he might go for me this season. He has seemed to keep his color quite nicely. Gonna be fun dinking around with him.
Thanks

PS: He is going into shed in this pic, sorry

On this site or on ball-pythons.ner there was a guy who had a bumble bee that went black and white too.. it looked like a AX bumble bee now, but most of it's life it ws normal..

Wonder what happened to that snake..

That is a pretty recent pic of him. He is in a shed right now. I keep waiting on him to go back and he just gets darker. Im not expecting this to be genetic but will probably hold back some of his offspring to see what happens if anything. Look forward to seeing what happens on your end too Michael.

Back in 2003 I paid by far the most I've ever paid for a snake (not saying much) for a similar looking (but normal patterned) reported import. Having no history on her I don't know if maybe she was a changer or what. Since I've had her she has followed the IMG path of getting darker but also with more yellow. She also stopped shedding clear. I kept back an interesting looking pastel son from 2009 so maybe will get a chance to see if she is genetic but with none of the other changers or IMG's proved I'm not holding my breath.

Victim of KARMA abuse!!!! :NoNo:

Michael why would you post this animal as an Axanthic? You get busted and then deleted your classified but at least I got a screenshot and hopefully one of the Mods will bring back your classified ad that you're trying to hide?

People can read more about this here on the BOI: http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/forums/showthread.php?t=188126&page=28
