In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

anyone did a transaction with this guy he has a few snakes that look pretty good that i have been looking for just wondering if anyone has did any business with him.

I have. I wouldn't ever again. He wont be afraid to bend you over a table to get what he wants.

Brent sold me 3 "female" ball pythons that turned out to be males. He got upset when I demanded my money back. We had to go to house of Reptiles in Tigard to have them probed by a third party.

Technically I'm in Vancouver, WA.. The mail hub is Portland.

can you tell me what you mean? i mean i made a offer on a package and he responded right away telling me he will take my deal and my offer on a payment plan even send his paypal account name. i sent a message back asking if he has any references because i cant seem to find out anything about him and yet to hear back from him.

He bought some snakes from me off craigslist (as I was just getting into balls), and when he found out they weren't what he expected, he threatened to sue me.

To be fair, I did sell him unsexed snakes that were sold to me as females. I sold them to him as females, and when he sexed them they were all males. It happens, and my inexperience made me have to much faith in the guy I bought them from.

What makes me never want to deal with him again, or even associate with anything of his what that he jump right to suing me. Didn't care what I had to say, or about any explanation. I eventually took the snakes back after giving him a refund when then snakes were professionally sexed at a local shop.

Yes, I threatened to take Brent to small claims court, but only after he refused to take care of his "mistake", when he told me it was my problem not his.

I'm sorry Brent, but a man is only as good as his word.

"The buyer beware" Tom.

I admit, I should've had them sexed, and that was my fault, but there was never any intention to mislead. I bought them as females, I sold them as females. I understand the frustration, however, do you think I went back to the guy I bought them from and threatened to sue him? No.

Your frustrations were understandable, your actions were not.

Info about Thomas

I have known Thomas for a while now and everything that this guy is accusing him of just doesnt sound like Thomas. I have personally bought snakes from thomas before as well as sold him some, I just picked up a beautiful mojave pair. I am also talking with him about doing a breeder loan. I live nearby and have been to Thomas's house a few times. He takes excellent care of his snakes, seriously he takes amazing care of them. If I ever had a snake that had a problem or that I needed to get rid of, no question he would be my first choice. Thomas has always been very friendly, professional, had great healthy snakes, and great prices to boot. I know that if Thomas made a mistake he would do everything in his power to make it right. I would 100% recommend him to anyone interested in a snake. I have no problems if you have further questions you are more than welcome to email me at: XxCode_RedxX(at)Yahoo(dot)com.

It's people like you who give "hobbyist" a bad name in this business. :ack2:

Make a mistake? Fine...IF you both learn from it AND desire to FIX the mistake when you make it. To claim your actions are based on a "mistake" with no intention or desire to FIX that mistake until you are forced to.... :NoNo: That's not a "mistake"...that is simply a serious lack of integrity and character.

Personally, based on what I've read here, I don't think Tom did ANYthing wrong regarding his transaction with you. Tom...I'd do business with. You.....no.

"The buyer beware" is the cornerstone of our economy. And as I said, I was new to the business and was just trying to make a little money. I've long since learned from my mistake, and when I'm at fault, I am more then willing to fix the problem. I suppose I can thank Tom for that.

Those who have done business with me; or have even talked with me concerning snakes, know that I take very good care of my snakes, and assure they are in top notch health before selling. Sexing them before selling is a lesson I learned very quickly after this whole thing, and haven't made the mistake since.

Taking someone at thier word, not liking what you got, then threatening to sue them is much worse then making a mistake.

And I did not say it "wasnt my problem". Tom demanded a full refund; DEMANDED, and I said no. If he had sold them on his time, I would've gladly split the difference, for housing and care minus what he sold them for. At the time, I had got in over my head and was feeding more snakes then I could afford, hence the collection reduction. But that wasnt the case is went from me saying no, to him saying he'd take me to court for over them. A completely unreasonable leap in my mind.

Our transactions up until that point were very pleasent and professional in my opinion, I even made the full drive to a location of his choosing (was about a 30-40 minute drive for me), and met with Tom and his wife. By all account the transaction was smooth and professional. His actions after the fact is what make me not want to work with him again.

Here it is man, like it or not. Thomas paid for female ball pythons, not male ball pythons. If you didn't know how to sex them, you shouldn't be selling them. You say you made a mistake and won't make it again, that's great. Here's the issue, the only mistake that can be put away are ones that have been rectified to the best of your abilities.

It is fully within his rights to take you to court when you have sold him misrepresented goods. It doesn't matter if you didn't know you were misrepresenting them, they were your responsibility. Unless you would like this to keep going where it's heading, which is just a bad guy thread on you, I would rectify the situation and refund the guy his money.

Chris

Brent did make a full refund, later, after we had them probed by a third party. I told him I'd pay for the probing if I were wrong, and he selected the place.

I already did, and had them professionally sexed on my dime, on top of giving him a full refund and taking the snakes back. This happened over a year ago now.

He paid $120 for 4 snakes. Thats $30 a snake, a good price for newborn females now, let alone adolesent females a year ago.

Damn, my bad, lmao. I don't quite get what this is all about then. You misrepresented animals, Thomas reacted in a fairly reasonable way, then you refunded him his money and learned your lesson. I don't know if I would be bringing this up again if I was you Brent.

Chris

And thats just the point I'm trying to explain. His reaction was UNreasonable. My first though when someone says I can't have my money back isnt "SUE THEM!" its a very calm and resounding "Negotiate."
