    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Beware Of When dealing with Pete Martinez aka Predetors

True, but I believe that once Pete gave Paul Jeff Wilson's number that was the end of what Pete and Paul had going. I've yet to see anyone comment on the flat out rude behavior of Jeff. This may have been a colabo thing between Pete and Jeff and Pete probally could not have moved forward with the trade without Jeff's permission.

Well I'm pretty sure that when Paul contacted Jeff he told him what was going on. Paul stated that he talked to Jeff and that Jeff said that he would get back to him. Instead of Paul trying to get back in contact with Jeff, he hounds Pete about snakes that Pete has previously stated were no longer in his possesion.

Negative. The deal was with pete. Read the e-mails Angel stop trying to make this sound like Pete did nothing. Pete agreed to ship the animal, an animal he never even had. Pete told me twice he would ship the animal. NOT JEFF. Im sorry you cant understand that . This was days later days after I had taken off work. Days after I had talked with my boss to get off earlty. days after given the run around. pete blew me off to Jeff. Jeff has nothing to do with this. This isnt about Jeff nor was it ever so stop trying to make it about Jeff. I didnt make a deal with Jeff. I made a deal with pete. Jeff never told me he would ship anything pete did. I had zero contact with jeff until days after the orginal agreement with Pete. pete gave me Jeffs number basically so that he would no longer have to face the heat of me asking him why I had to miss work to for a snake to never show up. Learn to comprehend what you read Angel.

dumbest analogy ever. More people agree that this deserves a bad guy thread than dont. I dont even count Angel as he has a personal issue with me and what he says makes zero sense.

The BOI is for business practices. Just like the better business bureau. I got screwed out of hard earned time off and was lied too. Over and over. I dont know why you cant wrap your finger around that. Maybe you are blessed and have a great job. I work my ass off for those days off. They dont come easy. When they get robbed from me when somebody selling a rpoduct lies over and over Ims orry but Im upset and Im telling others.

I agree with you. Missing work is difficult for me as well. If the seller was suddenly hospitalized or something of that nature, I'd understand and be ok with it.

But otherwise, just not following up on a promised deal? I'd NEVER deal with someone like that again. Bad Guy. The missed day of work would be his fault and I'd be out my pay money just as much as if he stole my purse.
 
that does suck what happened and the run around and all that, but i would agree this shouldnt be a bad guy thread, however not just an info thread either, for me, i would have started this as a "just a warning to all" thread. but each person has their views of thread starters. i view a bad guy thread as one where the deal has been completed and there was a dead, sick or injured animal upon receipt or actual transition of money that needed refunded was involved

This is rather a conflict of personal opinions, on which title should be bestowed upon Pete.

I understand your reasoning behind this bad buy title, but you also have to see that your out time, and time only. So what's the end result of this thread? Would you like Pete to compensate you for the lost hours at work? (I seriously doubt he will, im simply asking your reason behind the thread) or is this to warn other potential buyers that he is a flake?

If you wanted this as a bad guy thread, imo, you should have posted this in his other bad guy thread.
 
That's true, there is already a bad guy thread in him you could have posted this in.
But like Ryan said, everyones got their own way of labeling a thread.

All mention of the guy Pete tried to pawn the author of the post off to is Hearsay and should be deleted or reworded. It is far to easy for a name to get associated with a bad name and bad bio post then it is to get a good guy bio post. Having a Bad Guy bio post that is proven false can hurt almost as bad as a true one since, a lot of the time, if I am researching someone I don't have time to read through the 10 pages a bad guy post can generate. I think I have ADD or some kind of sleep disorder cause I fall asleep before I get half way through it or realize the windows in my office need cleaned.

The minute Pete would have tried to pawn me off on someone else I would have been telling him "deal off". If your dealing as a middle man, than guess what, your stuck in the middle till the end.

As far as deserving a bad guy thread, I really don't know. While some people may think the informational post is the grey color here, I have not seen it used enough. The BIO is black and white and is here to try to cut through the shades of grey that are thrown about. Unfortunately depending on the lighting and surrounding colors at the time the grey is viewed at one time can look black while another look almost off white.

It doesn't matter if we agree with the label - it's there to stay. That's the way things work here. It could be unanimous that it was a bad decision, and it wouldn't impact the title. The only thing that MIGHT come of it is that the OP might consider other labeling options in the future - which would be a good thing - however, in this case, the end does not justify the means. All the comments about whether the title should read Bad Guy are just taking up space and distracting from the topic.
 
Paul, I have no personal problems with you, I'm a grown man and I know how to let sleeping dogs lie. And I also know how to comprehend what I read. If you read the very first email that Pete sent you will see where he says "here are pix of the anthrax that WE are offering to trade you". And because he gave you the number to Jeff because he didn't have the snakes, that leads me to believe that him and Jeff had some type of breeding agreement or something of the sort. Another reason that he my have given you Jeff's number was because he might have jumped into the trade agreement a little to early, and didn't notify Jeff of the trade. I am in no way condoning what Pete did by a long shot. I'm also sorry that you had to miss work, thereby losing money. And given how the economy is, we all need every cent we can get. Did you ever get in contact with Jeff Wilson ?

so me missing work and not getting paid which were the cause of his actions doesnt warrant that? Id have to actually pay him the money and get scammed? Regardless Im out money. The rest of you can be on the outside looking in. But let somebody keep you from getting your hard earned money and tell me that deserves just a warning thread. IMO not much difference had I gone to work and paid him and he took it and ran vs his actions causing me not to get paid.

Im out X amount of dollars. How much is not of concern as is no persons finances to strangers.
 
there are a bazillion ways of lookin at how this thread should have or could have been labeled, as harald said, its not important, it is what it is. everybody handles and labels threads differently, you labeled and handled it how you thought was best. thats all you can do. i think if a seller has his own bad guy sticky thread, that is a reason enough for me, to shy away.

Hey Paul. I definitely do not agree with the way he strung you along. It's a bunch of bs! However if I would have been you I would have got a confirmation that the snake was on it's way before I took off work. And I wouldn't have just taken his word I wouldve waited for the tracking number then took the next day off. Imo of course.
 
Taking off work doesnt work like that. He lives 3 hours behind me. Im in Maryland. Him in New Mexico. Most delivery places pick up at 6:30 pm for the next day. Even if he had Given me a tracking number Sunday I couldnt call into work. Its closed. Most places are. Im not calling my boss on his personal cell. Dont know many peoople who would. The shipping day that we confirmed was on Aug 18th. That was a Wedensday for the following Tuesday. I had almost 1 week to get off work. Thats how my Job works. Maybe he could had given me a tracking number that Weds set up for Monday. Hindsight is always 20/20.
