In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Thought I'd never have to make a bad guy thread...*sigh*
Anyways, this all started on August 20th, when Guy inquired about an R.leachianus for sale. He emailed me and offered me $400 shipped. I declined, as I would have been losing money. However, there was little interest in her, so I accepted his offer. He then backed out, some time went on, and I posted her again. He inquired again about her, this time for $300 shipped, and we agreed at $320 shipped. She was shipped last Tuesday, and delivered on Wednesday, alive.
Skip to today, August 6th. Guy posted her for sale for $475. I don't care how much he was asking, that's irrelevant. The problems I have are: he stole my photo, and is flipping her, which was a violation of our agreement.
From my ad:
I'm only willing to sell her to collectors or someone that will use her for future breeding...if you plan on flipping her, expect me to refuse the sale.

Guy says he's keeping her:

Hi Rick,

I actually plan on keeping her in my collection but want to run her by a buddy of mine today who assists me with pairing my animals. I have two other Leachies about the same age but they are much larger (6-8 inches) and about 40-45 grams each so I am a bit concerned about her size so if it’s OK I will be sending the Paypal later this afternoon once I get back on the computer.

Last question, does she have her original tail? You mentioned it’s “teeny” in your e-mail so I just wanted to make sure.

Thanks,

Guy Brunke

And again:

originally paid $400 for her, so I'd like to get atleast $340 shipped.

Thanks

Hey Rick,

Can’t believe your Leachie hasn’t sold yet, wow. Willing to go $300 shipped? If so, I’ll find a place in my collection for her.

Let me know.

Thanks,

Guy Brunke

I have all emails from our transaction that I can post aswell if needed...

*sighs and rubs eyes* all these bad guy threads are makin my head hurt.

Please post all emails, pms and texts as proof. And the pics in question aswell.

Guy is also a lowballer on top of a flipper. I had an ad up for two subadult leachieanus geckos. Both from top notch breeders and priced at 1,300$ plus shipping. He offered me, as a trade for both, ONE chahoua gecko that he called female when just one month earlier, wouldn't guarantee.

The email about the purchase of his chahoua outright, sent Tuesday, June 22, 2010 4:19 PM
They are 21g (Titan), 17g (Louie) and 16g (Hershey) but don't let the names
lead you to male or female (my kids named them). I'm not sure actually what
sex they are but my belief is Louie, the lighter White Collar is a male and
the other two females, I could be wrong.

They are pure Pine Island bred by and acquired from Philippe DE Vosjoli here
is San Diego. I have had them for about 7 or 8 months and planned on keeping
and breeding them but if you want them the prices are as follows:

> Titan $800.00
> Hershey $750.00
> Louie $850.00

Or take all for $2,200 + shipping or if you are local can will call.

Let me know. Thanks,

Guy Brunke

What he sent me when inquiring about my leachies sent Sat, 24 Jul 2010 10:09:35:

Hi,

I have a female PI Chahoua available for trade as mentioned in your Fauna ad. She is a 20g subadult from Philippe deVosjoli. Have had her for around 6 or 7 months and don’t have a male. If you are interested in trading for your pair of Leachies let me know. Attached is a couple of pics of her (She is the one on the left in the last photo).

Thanks,

Guy Brunke

If his above prices are to be taken as the value of his animals, I was offered MAX 750/800$ for animals totaling 1,300$. His offer was insulting and yet I still replied:

Sorry, but a 20g female chahoua would only be worth a partial trade, that is also alittle small to guarantee sex in chahoua. Is that what you meant to say, partial trade? How much cash would also accompany her?

Thanks!

Meg

And received no response. Big surprise.

This man is a lowballer, and a middleman masking himself as a breeder. When he doesn't hear what he wants, he does not respond. He is unwilling to pay a fair rate for anything, as doing so would make it hard for him to make a profit. I hope those who have had similar bad experiences with him will step forward.

The community needs to know the kind of person they are dealing with here.

Since I don’t ship USPS I can’t really say because I don’t know how or where they house their packages in transit and have never had anyone I know use the express service.

I do agree though that Rhacs don’t deal with heat very well. Normally I ship and receive my animals via UPS so they get dropped off late in the day and arrive first thing in the a/m so we use the smaller cold packs that offer 4-5 hours of cooling to cover the late afternoon temps. Seems the 30 hour pack may make it too cold, not sure.

Don’t know what to say really, since you’re taking responsibility I guess it’s your call as to whether you want to save the money and go USPS or use UPS to insure a Next Day a/m arrival.

The only way I would ship an animal this expensive is with a true overnight service like UPS for next day arrival.
Your call but I expect a LAG whatever way you decide and will be here to sign for it.

Let me know what you decide, it’s your call.

I honestly haven't had issues with USPS, I've shipped hundreds of animals using them.
Their express service works like any other express service, although some zip codes don't "guarantee" overnight (basically to cover their ass if for some reason a plane is late or something.)
I'm shipping from Lakewood, WA 98498.
I doubt there will be any problems.

Thanks,

Rick

Hey Rick,

Not sure where you are in WA but it seems that the temps are mid 60’s in most of the state. It is warming up here again to if you plan on shipping this week I would do it Tuesday for delivery Wed a/m. The high on Wed is going to be mid 90’s but it won’t be that hot before 10:30 a/m so we should be good. Let me know.

Hey Guy,
I was just checking the shipping quote, and it says that you don't get overnight express.
I actually have shipped to Temecula, CA before, and it arrived overnight with no issues, however, if it ends up being in transit for 2 days, or is not signed for, I am not able to offer LAG.
Just thought I'd let you know what's going down.
Thanks,

Yes, she is around one year old. She is a bit small for her age, around 4" including her teeny tail. The breeder (Lance portal) told me that her father was a high white snowflake and her mother is unknown. I am unsure weight wise, but I would assume she is around 25 grams or so.
What will your temps be like for delivery on Wednesday?
I will send you the most recent pics (a bit over a month old) in a minute. She hasn't changed, other than gaining a tiny bit of length. The total comes to $412.00 and my paypal is this email.
Thank you,

Rick

Yes I can pay via Paypal. Can you tell me a little more about her locality and breeding? You say she’s a year old Snowflake? About how big is she (length etc) and do you have any recent photos?
Thanks Rick, Tuesday sounds good. I’ll send the Paypal later today or as soon as you respond back.

Well Guy, it looks like no one else is interested in her right now, so I'll sell her to you first. Can you pay with paypal? I can send her out Tuesday.
Thanks,

Rick

Hi Guy,
Sorry, but I can't go that low. I can do $440 shipped USPS Express for her (it's the only way I'm currently able to ship), and I'll just be breaking even at that price.
I'm not new to shipping animals, it's just that shipping is a bit of a hassle for me.
Let me know if you're interested,
Thanks

Rick

Hey Rick,

Saw your post for the Snowflake you are selling and was wondering if you would take $400 shipped to CA 92592?
I’ve had very good luck shipping these and other geckos and use ShipYourReptiles if that helps. They are very helpful and have all the materials needed to ship.

Let me know.

Thanks,

Guy

I will address Guy here.

Dude, be careful threatening people. You couldn't wait to sell her to me, shipped her in an unsafe fashion (via USPS) in mid to high 80 degree weather and were lucky she got to me in one day not two. I have not advertised her like I have every right to do and I will respond in kind to your BOI posting if you go that way.

If you really cared about your gecko you would have followed-up to see if she arrived OK or at least responded to me when I let you know. You would have also also shipped her in a larger than an 8 oz deli cup, geez.

1. I obviously could wait to sell her, or I wouldn't have mentioned NO FLIPPING, or asked if you were going to KEEP HER (which you lied about)

2. Yes, I did ship USPS, I have had good experiences with them, and I am unable to us UPS at the current time.

3. You said the temperatures would be fine, and offered to use a cold pack.

4. You have stolen a photo of mine.

5. Slandering my about caring about my animals? I don't think a person could make a lower insult if they tried.

6. An 8 oz. deli is what I felt was appropriate. Or did you want her flying around the deli cup?

This is a public offer to Rick to buy his gecko back at exactly what I paid for her if he is that passionate about her being re-sold. I however will ship her properly via UPS at my expense to insure she arrives back home overnight like she should have been shipped to me. Seems like a fair deal to me. Let's see how willing he is to take her back since he's so concerned about what I do with her.

This seemingly kind offer is overshadowed by the "let's see what he does now, ha!" attitude. If I could have kept her, I would. I wouldn't have posted her for sale. There's a reason I posted her for sale.

Not sure who you are Meg90 or what your beef is but from the feedback I've gotten, 100% of the people that have actually done business with me have only good things to say (feel free to take a look at the testamonials on my site) and since you have decided to make accusations about me with little or no knowledge about who I am or what I do I thought I would clarify things for you. I breed over 250 geckos/year including Cresteds, Gargoyles and Leachianus geckos in addition to buying, trading and selling. I have sold over a hundred over the last couple of months and have not had a single issue with any one of them. Last time I checked the country still operates as a free enterprise society so I think I have every right to buy and sell as I please and since Rick McJimsey didn't make it clear, our deal did not hinge on me reselling his gecko (check his e-mail chain), it is obvious he just wanted to get rid of her and since he put all of my personal information on his post, here is his phone number if you would like to ask him yourself 253-582-8282.

How about next time, staying out of my business and worrying about your own. Seems you must have plenty of time to do that.

Guy, my apologies, I did not intend on posting your personal information.
However, would you please explain why you said you were keeping her, and why you are using my photo without my permission?

Obviously, not everyone is satisfied with the way you do business *points to self*. I know of others you have lowballed as well. While I won't speak for them here, you can bet that I've personally asked each one if they feel like contributing their emails and experiences to this thread. They all have been given the link.

Your "offers" are insulting. You insulted Rick by offering 300$ shipped. And in that chain of emails you say more than once "don't worry, I'll be keeping her in my collection"

Showing up out of the blue, buying up GOOD stock, and selling it as your own doesn't make you anything but a middleman trussed up as a breeder.

As for not knowing who I am? Maybe search your own inboxes.

I guess by "flipper" you mean Guy tries to buy wholesale and turns around later to sell retail.......that is the business model of every petshop so why does that make him a "bad guy?" Sorry Rick but once the gecko is with its new owner you have no say in its future.

Rick, is your camera broken?.......I would want current pics to confirm health after it was just shipped by snailmail.

I've known Ricky (bobtard) for a very long time and done business with him quite a few times as well. He takes very good care of his animals and cares deeply about them.

It's a sad fact that the buyer is breaking a contract to flip an animal, but what disturbs me more is that they buyer is using photos that do not belong to him. This is not someone I want to do business with.

Does a persons word mean anything anymore? (Other than Guy's, obviously)
And no, my camera is in working order, I took several photos before she was shipped..

And that's why most people here buy from a private breeder , they can ask if the animal was quarantined and other necessary things , most flippers do not and endanger others collections by hiding the fact there flippers.as for not having a say in the gecko now , the agreement was to be placed in a secure home not to be flipped, the agreement was broken so that warrants a bad guy thread .

Even though by all technicalities, once the animal and money changed hands, you are free too do as you like with it, it doesn't change the fact that
A: You LIED to Rick about keeping her to get him to sell her. I get a strong impression that if he knew you were EVER going to resell her, let alone days later, he would have held out for another buyer, rather than sell her to you.
B: You stole his picture for your ad, which is hugely rude first and illegal second.
