all the side arguing just makes the parties in the argument seem childish and unprofessional. Just saying...

I agree that if someone takes on a debt they should pay it, not pawn it off and expect someone else to pay it... At the same time, the person who takes on the objects that are in debt for should not take them on when the original debt isn't paid off... It's one big mess and just needs to be taken care of all around...

Yes Bob owes Griz... But Tom owes Bob... so technically it's the same debt... It doesn't matter who pays who since the money should get back to Griz one way or another anyway...

Clarification - I made SEVERAL attempts at contacting Tim with no response in November and December of 2009 as did Bob Martin.

That email was from Bob Martin. If you look, he corrected the email address on the one he sent in December. I did not post the few that I sent as they were sent from my old email address so I would have to dig through my servers to find.

With any luck this will all be over shortly.

While I tend to agree that the thread title might be ill chosen, for all we know, Tim willingly took over the debt to Bob W when he agreed to take the animals from Bob M on consignment. This does not absolve Bob M of ultimate responsibility but it would definitely be a reason for Bob W to seek restitution from Tim.

I have handled debts owed to me several times this way. It's not that uncommon

Hello there, this is Susan Koppenhofer and I have a few things you all should know about how badly this has all been handled. Those who truly know us also know how hard we work the business and respect the business.
We have talked with Bob and the terms of the IOU have been put into place. So everyone can leave it alone. Why Bob, Griz, decided to persue this direction is not worth the 8 pages you have all given him.
It's true, no responses to emails during the holidays were made. After the sudden loss of our 29 year old daughter last October 7th, the holidays were very painful and the deal was just forgotten over time. Bob was right about one thing, he has no concept of losing a child.
So now after 9+ months Bob suddenly decides a public forum is the way to go on collecting a forgotten debt. All he needed to do was email us and politely discuss things. But no, he goes balistic on BOI for three days and then emails us with a very threatening email on Sunday night. How "business like" is that? By Monday morning we emailed him back with a phone number and all was settled within an hour.
Everyone and anyone who knows us knows how to get in touch with us, either by phone(same cell for over 20+ yrs), email(same email for 15+ yrs) or show(listed in nearly EVERY ad). No thread on BOI was ever needed.
I am sorry for having to post this here - BUT I had to get a few things off my chest that I believed had to be told!

Tim and Susan, you have Darla and my deepest sympathy for your loss. I can only imagine what it would be like to lose a child.
You have both shown a lot of class and integrity in reponding to this thread the way that you did, and it makes clear why the people that know you both have a great deal of respect for you.

I think she meant e-mail recently before starting this thread. It looks like he e-mailed around the holidays, and not recently.
