Original photos are gone from the ad, but they are saved, and shown here.
March 28 - April 4 - Finding the ad, I called Lisa, discussed that I would pay her $300.00 shipped, I sent her a USPS M.O. overnight (CMRR), and emailed her the tracking # for it. The next afternoon, Mike signed for it. Meanwhile, we discussed weather, I asked for current photos of the dragon Lisa called "Rose", which Lisa emailed to me. It was agreed Lisa would ship April 5, for delivery to me April 6.
Meanwhile...
April 1 - http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/forums/showthread.php?t=170066
Lisa/Mike received my 300.00 two days before this post, received money from another member just one week before, and now indicates interest in a 450.00 dragon. Yet, just 4 days later, when I asked for a refund, she told me she had no money, as she spent what I sent her on food for her dragons.
April 5 - UPS picked up Rose at Lisa's house supposedly around 5:30 PM, PST, according to an email Lisa sent me and according to the UPS tracking #. (Yet, there were inconsistencies in Lisa's statements in the days following. Such as this one).
April 6 - I tracked the package overnight and early the next morning, and thought it strange it had not progressed beyond the original scan. Since UPS has a history of not updating tracking, I was not in panic mode, yet. Until my local facility informed me the package was not on the plane. I notified Lisa immediately. By this time, Lisa stated in email that Rose had now been packed with her heat pack for 22 hours - which would put time of packing her at around noon the previous day.
The next few hours I spent calling UPS call centers, various employees, eventually located the package, only to learn it never left the facility the night before (I notified Lisa immediately per each new discovery). UPS claimed the pick-up time was too late to make the scheduled flight, therefore never leaving the facility. Lisa claims she was never told the pick-up time was too late.
Shortly after I located the package's location, a manager called to inform me the dragon was deceased. I immediately informed Lisa, Lisa/Mike then drove to the facility and retrieved Rose.
The rest was a virtual nightmare, details too numerous to mention here. UPS insisted the pick-up time was too late, couldn't explain why an exception was never posted, couldn't verify where Rose was on the premises overnight and couldn't say how she died.
I filed a formal complaint with the corporate office, Lisa filed a claim with UPS/ShipYourReptiles and later wrote her formal complaint to the corporate office.
Upon returning home, Lisa/Mike took photos of Rose's body and emailed the photos to me. She asked me to call her, and asked for my opinion on Rose's injuries. I called and told her based only on the photos and nature of the situation, it appeared possible Rose died due to mishandling.
As an afterthought later that evening, Lisa emailed me a 2nd set of photos, this time depicting Rose's abdominal injuries. My gut instinct was something I didn't feel Lisa wanted to hear, but I had no evidence or proof otherwise, I left it at that. I wanted to give her the benefit of the doubt, her display of grief demanded more in the way of compassion rather than adding insult to injury. I felt a qualified vet performing a necropsy would give Lisa the answers if she wished to pursue it. To my knowledge, she didn't.
Later, taking care in approaching an emotional Lisa, I felt it necessary to ask for a refund (on the phone, and reiterated in email). She couldn't repay me then because she spent the money we sent her on food for her dragons, but could manage something on April 23. I agreed to the date, we agreed to make arrangements at that time.
Shortly after, Lisa and I did discuss the potential "option" of getting another dragon noted in the email above. I told her very clearly, that we were open to discussion, but no final decision would be made without taking considerable time to think about it, a fair amount of discussion on the matter, and without first seeing how the clutch turned out. Lisa understood our preference was the refund, but we were willing to wait for the clutch to hatch, or a miracle she would come up with money to repay us instead.
Further discussion about this was minimal beyond this point. The clutch didn't hatch until May 11, only three hatched. May 12, we were told the second clutch was lost entirely due to contamination but we could expect pictures of the first clutch in "two weeks". Then she expected a third clutch to hatch in late June. Nine more of the first clutch supposedly hatched on May 16-17, the remaining three expected to hatch in another week or so. (8 emails about said clutches are here)
Confused yet? So was I.
April 16 - A UPS security head called me in response to my formal complaint. The purpose of the call was to tell me they were formally investigating my complaint. It was also the intent of the security head to make personal amends to myself, and for Lisa. I documented the conversation, but since they are not allowed here, the purpose here is to note the nature of the call.
April 21 - The UPS security head and his assistant, physically met with Lisa in Los Banos; this "meeting" was not exactly a claim process, since Lisa had already filed a claim with SYR on the day Rose died.
I do not know exactly what was discussed in that meeting, other than what Lisa said in an email to me the next day. I do know however, UPS asked Lisa to provide receipts for the value of the dragon, other miscellaneous receipts, along with photos of the deceased dragon.
The next day, It was discussed that if UPS reimbursed Lisa for OVER 300.00, it should be split between us, since Lisa supposedly had no money at this point to refund me. If it was ONLY 300.00, I told Lisa to keep it. Before you ask why I would say such a thing:
Lisa told me that Mike had just lost his job. With no money to feed the poor dragons, no income, and because she indicated she had every intention of refunding me, I was willing to make an arrangement with her. I feel I was more than fair. Lisa agreed to inform me if/when she received a reimbursement from UPS and the amount, if any.
April 23 - A different UPS security head called me to discuss the investigation. The nature of the call was to inform me of two things: 1) the investigation was nearing an end and UPS was sending a check to Lisa. While not stating the exact amount, nor when they intended to send it, it was stated the check was OVER 300.00. I assumed Lisa would inform me of it. (of course she never did)
2) Since Lisa filed the claim, a claim process if approved, would be submitted to the shipper, the security head's "amend" to me was this:
Should I choose to purchase another dragon in the future that required shipping, he would personally oversee the process, the route, and guarantee live arrival. This would be extended to me as a one-time-only favor, on the future date of my choice using whatever seller of my choice.
Lisa was fully aware of this, as the security head had told her the same thing. Except, Lisa thought she was in control, later taking it upon herself to do just that for her own gain, assuming I'd never know about it. The email also shows that Lisa had already prematurely "assumed" that my decision on getting another dragon was final, when it certainly was not. We were still waiting on answers about the clutch!
May 4 - Lisa emailed me stating no beardie babies yet, but she had 5 puppies now. Meanwhile.....
http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/forums/showthread.php?p=937050
And, UPS sent Lisa a reimbursement check for 414.24 (I did not know this at the time)

May 20 - Due to work-related scheduling changes, and because I was getting a bad feeling about Lisa's sincerity, I informed Lisa that we would not be getting a dragon and again requested our refund. With respect to her monetary situation, we asked only for 200.00. Lisa stated surprise at the decision, but assured me that I would be her first priority to refund as soon as she sold some dragons.
Aware that Lisa/Mike were selling dragons on Fauna (yet mysteriously unable to pay me), I thought it likely they had ads elsewhere. Sure enough, I discovered they had various ads for bearded dragons, babies, bulldog puppies, miscellaneous items and finally, a car. Some of the ads had been up for weeks.

Note that in various posts on Fauna, Lisa/Mike stated their dragons have not been in their plans, they were getting rid of their adult dragons to make room for babies, then some needed homes - now they're trading?
May 27 - http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/forums/showthread.php?t=180220
A member posted a BOI - he had just purchased from Lisa. When I inquired, he confirmed to me that he paid Lisa 200.00 for the dragon.
Adding insult to injury, this member was the recipient whom Lisa swindled UPS out of the favor intended for me. Of course, the member had no idea and no fault lies with him - I'm just happy he received a live one. (UPS tells me they are not quite happy about that little stunt, Lisa)
May 28 - Lisa/Mike inquire of Rockinar Dragonz about pricing for babies.
(But, you don't have any money, right? Mike is out of work, right?)
June 12 - http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/forums/showthread.php?t=182762
(This is where Lisa can't remember how many she started with, how many she lost - red flag to buyers)
June 16 - One of the UPS security heads called me to wrap up the investigation and confirms the reimbursement sent to Lisa.
June 28 and July 5 - Thinking Lisa might come clean, I emailed Lisa and asked her how things were going. She did not respond.
June 30 - According to an updated ad, Lisa/Mike had sold 4 of the 5 puppies for ~1500.00 each, attempting to sell the last one at 1500.00. A different pup was up for sale for 2000.00. Ads are shown here.
July 7 - Lisa finally responded to my email, stating she hadn't checked email, no updates, now she's hoping to sell puppies soon, they'll be ready in 2 weeks, she'll let me know as soon as she can.
(First you have to sell some dragons in order to repay me. How'd that go? Now you have to sell puppies in order to repay me. How's that go? What next, the car?)
I responded by asking her if she ever got a check from UPS, if so, how much was it? As expected, no response. She didn't know I already knew the answer. Later, she claims she emailed me that information, which of course was not true.
Now, let's assume Lisa/Mike made a little money thus far - in just 2 1/2 months (March 20 - June 4):
Member #1: ~250.00
Member #2 (Me): 300.00
UPS reimbursement: 414.24
Member #3: 200.00
Member #4: 250.00
______
Total: 1414.24
Between UPS and me, Lisa made off with 714.24 for a dragon she no longer owned! This doesn't even account for the number of dragons they've sold at Fauna or elsewhere, the car parts, cages, other items. Continue to buy/sell/trade, conveniently ignore the fact you owe money to someone.
Now let's add some puppies, etc. (May 1 - August 21, approx):
4 pups @ ~1500.00 each: 6000.00
1 older pup @ ~1500.00: 1500.00
And a car: 9000.00
________
Total: 16,500
________
Grand total: 17,914.24
I'll even be generous and take off 5,000.00 to account for some heavy discounted prices. Hmm.... How about another 5,000.00 off to account for a possible discrepancy here and there.... Hmmm.
- As early as May 1, Lisa posted 5 puppies for sale. By May 12, one of them had sold.
- By June 24, two more pups had been sold. By June 27, four pups had been sold.
- July 7, Lisa had the nerve to tell me she is "waiting to sell puppies, they'll be ready in 2 weeks", after she has already sold 4 of them!
- I've recently learned the last pup of the original 5 had been sold. Removal of the ad for the other pup indicates to me, that pup too has been sold.
- Removal of the ad for the car indicates to me, a possible sale. Even if it hasn't, or they decided to keep it,it is clear, they could have repaid me a mere 200.00.
August 1 - The agreement was that Lisa would keep me updated on her monetary status, repay me, (or make attempts to) no later than August. In a final attempt to settle this problem, I call the number I have for Lisa/Mike. It's disconnected.
I call the numbers from the other ads. One goes unanswered, Mike answers the other, I ask for Lisa, he asks who's calling, I tell him my name, (pause), he says "just a minute", (pause), then (click). I call back, no answer, I leave a voicemail stating they need to call me, I leave my phone number. My husband emails Mike, tells him he doesn't appreciate the hanging up on me, they need to contact us before we take affirmative action. 12 hours later, Mike emails my husband. Here's the email exchange. Funny, Mike claims the phone he previously answered and again later, was not his, but his MIL's, yet the voicemail prompt says "Lisa and Mike". Funny how the voicemail I left earlier with my phone number was ignored (right). As soon as we receive Mike's email, I call them.
The result: Lisa/Mike handing the phone back and forth between them, excuses about one thing or another, informing me I need to listen to them first before I'm allowed to speak, accusing me of not being an adult about it, claims they never owed me a refund, never guaranteed live arrival (which I never, ever, brought forth as an issue), that I could stand in line with other people they owe money to, they have kids to support, medical bills, they don't give a (expletive) what I think, dare me to post a BOI. Almost word for word from their email. I barely got a word in edgewise, although in my disgust, I did voice an expletive or two myself before being hung up on.
Eight days later, I received this.
Lisa/Mike ceased posting ads on Fauna and other sites I was aware of, around that time. Perhaps they sold their stock, must be waiting for dragons to breed, make babies.
It didn't take long, they're back on Fauna, with new dragons and babies, posting under an alias. Is this not against Fauna rules?

http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/forums/showthread.php?t=204957
Beware. I have every reason to believe they will continue to misrepresent their animals (as they have done before), attempt to sell babies who haven't even hatched yet, will never understand the value of an offer of guarantee/refund, if you are unsatisfied for any reason, you'll only get a "sorry, (insert-excuse)", you will never see a dime back from them - and you'll take your chances with a live vs dead dragon.
Lisa/Mike, I have to ask, did you pack Rose properly before UPS allegedly killed her, then put on a show just for me? Going back through your inconsistencies, I have my doubts.
Did you provide to UPS your own original purchase receipt of Rose? I think it only fair you cough up a copy of what you gave to UPS.
I think it only fair you give back UPS their money and admit you swindled them. You took from them 414.24 in addition to the 300.00 I paid you, and took advantage of UPS security head J.S.' personal favor not intended for you, but to me. That must have been a costly endeavor on his part.
My husband and I went beyond the norm with our generosity, compassion toward your monetary "situation". We gave you more than enough time and every opportunity to make this right before we took further action. In return, you show us nothing but disrespect, take our money without a second thought, lie like common thieves, and come back to pull it again on other unsuspecting people.
I'm onto your little game. You still owe me 200.00. (technically, you owe me 300.00, but I'm being nice)

It didn't take long, they're back on Fauna, with new dragons and babies, posting under an alias. Is this not against Fauna rules?
