    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

In September of '09 I purchased a 1.0 "100% het albino" western hognose from Brett after he posted an ad on CL. Great little hog, I still have him and couldn't be happier with him as a pet. However, two weeks after purchasing him Brett offered me a really good deal on '08ish 0.3 "100% het albino" western hognose as well as a "100% het pied" 1.0 ball python. I ended up paying him about $40 each for them. No paperwork but he assured me they were hets and worst comes to worst, I had a decent price on normals and Brett seemed like a really nice guy.

Well I bred the hogs this past season and they all produced normals. Did the same with the ball python as well. All normals. Oh well, I got a good deal, no great loss. I'm not complaining about that. So I ended up selling all except the 1.0 hog (I love this little guy!) so I could focus more on my corns.

I didn't consider it a big deal, but recently in a thread made by my wife it has been brought back up and Brett has distorted the facts. He claims the hogs I purchased were '10's. How can they be '10's when I purchased them from him in September of '09 and they were already almost big enough to breed? This spring each of the females were close to 2 foot in length and the male was 17 inches. Being as I have no paperwork from Brett I have no clue how old they were or who produced them, etc, I just know when I bought them and what the outcome of breeding them was this year.

This is a hard one because almost all of these transactions too place over the phone and face to face since he lived close by me at the time. I'm not out to get Brett, I love my male hog and I had fun with breeding them and the ball python, but it irks me when he openly distorts the facts on here. I would not personally buy from him again, but I would advise anyone who does buy from him to buy with caution and make sure you know what you're getting.

There is no way you bought them in sept. 09. Main reason because I met them I was with my ex- girlfriend Ricki, and we did not get together until the end of feb. 2010 (her and tasha became friends). Second, when you got them they were hatchlings. I only had one 09, and told you If you had any issues to let me know, but you never did. Then after I have a falling out with one of your friends (Jim of west texas fish) you start up with making false accusations. If you can show me photographic proof that they were proved wrong, I will gladly re emburse you the money you spent and have never said I wouldn't. Even though now you say you no longer have the proof. Also if you say you bought them in 2009, that means you must have gotten the uro in your previous posts in 09, because it was not even one month later we ordered that along with everything else from Craig Gagne (and I still have the reciept from that as well- the date of that was may 8, 2010). Also I have no clue why this was brought to the BOI with no proof of anything.
 
And I also, please tell me Ben, if i sold them to you in september of 09, did you pick them up in florida? Because aug 09 - the end of oct 09 I was in florida dealing with family problems.
 
Also another thing, you bought all the hogs together. I just realized you said you bought them separate. Ben you really got to get your facts straight.

And you need to state facts aswell. Because this is just a pissing match right now.
 
He met me in a wal-mart parking lot and purchased all the snakes together. not at separate times. I told him I guaranteed them and if he had any issues to let me know. He never did, so everything was went about the wrong way. If he had the snakes I would give him a refund, I really don't mind. But to say these things and not have any proof or even the animals in question, I mean come on.

How many offspring were produced by the hogs? What was the Het Pied bred to (visual pied, het, possible het)? How many eggs? One season isn't always enough to prove out hets, IMO.
 
Thank you Shelly. And Laura, the purpose of this thread was to slander my name due to a falling out I had with one of his friends (who by the way finally told me why he never returned my calls).
 
Unfortunately for both of you, it's all he-said/she-said unless you're secretly hiding email communication, or anything else with a date on it, or something proving that Ben's intentions stem from the falling out you and another party had, as you claim.

Nothing good could ever come from this (or from marking time by which ex-girlfriend you were with). Seriously, you guys are states away from each other....if you can't agree on where you lived when, this whole thing is worthless.

First off we did not get them all at once. We got the male hog from you first then later got the females from you so you need to get your :censored: straight. An oh I talked with ricki I know all your lies and everthing you sold us where lies. An yes we did buy them in 09 they where not hatchlings you even said so right in frunt of me. So don't even try to call my husband a lier. An also we did tell you of the problems we where having with them and you did nothing. You just said we did not pay you the right amount the first time witch was 2 months after we had bought them (witch we did give you the right amount, you even counted it). SO LEARN YOUR :censored:, I will be getting the proof once I can get my other computer going. Then you wont be able to say :censored:
 
Please stop with the pissing match. It really leads no where. Post proof if you have it. If not, then this is just a waist of space.
 
Yes, this has turned into a pissing contest. Until I get my laptop fixed which has dated photos, I cannot prove it my side and it will continue being a stalemate. This was not meant to get hostile and to the good people at Fauna, I appologize for that aspect of it. I merely meant to post what happened since we were asked to bring it up in the BOI by a manager instead of a post my wife made in another forum.

Tasha, calm down, either way we got a good deal on normals and all the snakes he says he produced were generally healthy. Don't get yourself banned. I will just simply never do business with Brett again.

Brett, I have not spoken to Jim since before moving out of Texas. We were never "friends". I worked with him for a few months at PetSmart and tried hooking you up for some business when he started his own store because you had always given me the hook up. I know nothing of what happened between yall. Whatever happened between yall is your business, not mine.

I DID get the 0.3 hogs and the 1.0 ball python from you in the parking lot of the Brownwood Wal-Mart, but the 1.0 hog you delivered to PetSmart while I was at work a few weeks before that. The uromastyx and the baby balls I purchased from you at your house around the time you say, that one is true, although I never brought that one up in this thread. I do not have a problem with that transaction. Remember your little trick with the rosy boa?

To the mod who PMed me, polasian, so there is no confusion, I personally authored the original post, but we BOTH stand by the words in my post.

FireStorm, the three female hogs laid 8, 10 and 11 eggs shortly after arriving here in Ohio. No albinos, just cute little baby normals. The ball was bred to a het with papers owned by a guy who lived near me in Texas I met while working at PetSmart. I ended up moving shortly after that and sold off my portion of the hatchlings on CL because I was only interested in hets and visuals.

My intent was NOT to slander Brett's name, but to put an end to what happened. I got a good deal on the animals I got from him, albeit they were not as described (hets) and his times and places where they were purchased are incorrect, overall I was satisfied with what I got from him for what I paid, but I advise anyone looking to purchase from him in the future to do your research and make sure you know what you're getting. Always make sure you get the proper paperwork because I did not.
 
Ben, I do now remember you are correct about the transactions with one being at petsmart and the other at wal-mart. I totally forgot about that. I am sorry that my responses seemed harsh, but now realizing that I did make that mistake, maybe my time may be off on when they were hatched, but I am sure you got them in 2010 because in 2009 I was living in a different house. If you send me your paypal information I will re emburse you partially for the snakes you did buy. I am sure they were hets, but you are correct, I never did provide paperwork. I am very sorry about all this confusion and headache. Please PM me and I will re emburse you.
 
No reimbursement necessary. I got a great deal on them even for what normals go for and I have more than made my money back breeding them. Just dang man, I had always thought of you as a friend and I was kinda bummed when they didn't prove. It raised a few suspicions, but I kept it to myself because it wasn't really a matter of het or not. I was proud enough just having my first babies. I just felt lied to, thats what was really eating me up. It didn't help that shortly after this all happened Rickie contacted us and vented about how you knowingly screwed people over on a regular basis just to make a quick buck, which I'm sure was mostly hot air. Ex's excell at that. I am glad we discussed this so that there will be a peace between us.

So as far as I'm concerned its in the past.
 
Me too. They really were hets. I am very sorry that they didn't prove. Ricki tried to get me in a lot of trouble after i kicked her out for cheating on me (with four separate people). If you every get in a bind and need the money let me know! I will have it for you. Again I am sorry about the way things turned out, but I am happy to hear you are doing good and that this is finally over.

How long are they gravid before laying? What do you mean by they laid "shortly after arriving"? Is it possible they were bred by a non-het sometime prior to your receiving them?

Just seems a bit contradictory, unless hogs have a really short gestation, OR you mean something different by "shortly after arriving" than I would have meant. :shrug01:

That's an excellent point, Judy. As far as the Het Pied goes, he may very well have been a het, too. Given BPs smaller clutch sizes, I've heard of plenty of cases where no visuals were produced in Het x Het pairings. I am in the process of trying to prove out a Poss. Het Albino at the moment...bred her to a Het, got 8 eggs and no visuals and had numerous breeders recommending trying again to prove her out...
