In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy BHB reptiles "het" didn't prove out, won't fix it

Cool, glad we are on the same page because I don't think a single post states otherwise, so the story hasn't changed.

Nick there are countless posts stating that David purchased the snake directly from Brian. I am not debating whether or not the snake was purchased.I am debating who it was purchased from and who the initial buyer was. In that respect the story has changed at a minimum of three times.

Purchased/traded/acquired.... All the same to me...

Me too.

But my point was who purchased it from whom and in what order. This is an important issue in regard to who would deserve compensation.Even though I feel no one does.

If it really isn't a het(which still is not proven) than Chris gets nothing because he traded the male and money for a big female pied.David gets nothing because he sold(or traded) the snake to Chip(i think thats his name can't remember!lol). If anyone actually deserved anything it would be Chip, the last buyer and current owner.Unless he has since sold or traded it off.

I apologize if Chip isn't the name of the last buyer and current owner. It is hard to keep track. And the leaving out of pertinent facts doesn't help.

Even if Brian did know the Spider Het Ghost was going to David... it matters not because Brian SOLD and SHIPPED it to Chris. Chris (presumably) has the original receipt. To me it is not much different than someone purchasing animals for resale.

OK what law is it?

I'm not getting in a pissing match with you. I'm a prosecutor and work on stuff like this everyday. If you think you're right then...

Companies can receive remuneration for fraudulent workman's comp claims because there is a DEMONSTRABLE loss. Not a "hypothetical loss", which was the original assertion. A company can literally look at the numbers for what that employee would "earn" them by working, per day, and calculate a lost profit for their absence. That is demonstrable. Saying "I was planning on hatching morphs in the amount of $XX,XXX" is not even remotely DEMONSTRABLE. It is *speculation* at best...

kelli im trying to make sense out of your post ? please explain

Brian sold the snake to Chris. Chris sent the money. Brian shipped the snake to Chris, and if there was a receipt, it had Chris' name on it. Brian's transaction was with Chris, not David.

Does that make more sense? LOL sorry if I wasn't clearer, I was up really late last night doing gecko work and have a sick 9 year old at home today.

It is exactly like buying an animal for resale, especially when there was a "profit" made. Chirs was credited Brians asking price in the trade for the pied, but paid 250 less. David did not get a deal on the snake because it was added to the deal Chris already had. Chris got a deal on the snake he was going to trade in part for a pied.

That's exactly how I see it too...:shrug01:

Sounds like someone's trying to get something for nothing. If an animal didn't prove, that's not the breeder's responsibility. A breeder can't 100% know what an animal will reproduce, but only give an idea.

Plus, since this is a third party sell, the original seller has no responsibility, IMO

It might matter to you if you were in Brian's shoes...

I think if I were in Brian's position I would be quite willing to offer another animal to Chris, since he was the original buyer of the questionable Het. I think what happened here is that Brian thought about the situation some more and realized that he does not owe David $3500 compensation in any way, shape, or form. Personally, I think he should compensate his buyer, Chris. Even though it is still not proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that the snake is not Het Ghost, it is a good faith gesture on Brian's part. That is what I would do anyway.

David wanting $3500 in compensation for a snake he sold to someone else many months ago is just not cool.

Its no fun when some one strings you along for months on end. Then back out last minute because you took it to the boi

I think it's possible that Brian got confused on why he was talking to two different people to make it right. Maybe once he started talking to Cliff, he thought that was it. Why would he need to pay both Cliff and David?

And the snake didn't change hands a crazy number of times. At the time, Chris was going to be sending me a couple snakes. Chris was also doing deals with BHB at the same time. Chris bought the Spider for me and sent it directly to me with paperwork. I never thought for a second anything like this would happen otherwise I would have bought it directly myself. It wasn't to get a smoking deal or a package price, it was just saving me from having to get two boxes delivered. I think Chris possessed the Spider for less than a week.

As far as Cliff goes, I have told Cliff numerous times that if Brian doesn't compensate him I will. If you guys feel that breeders should be able to sell hets left and right and only be responsible for the original cost to the original buyer then I feel bad for the state of the market. Scammers have at it.

In my opinion, if you sell an animal as a het and it doesn't prove out then the animal itself is the least of your concerns. How about the costs of raising a female up to size, getting that clutch and having it be nearly worthless? The morphs come down in price every year where losing out on animals that can be sold or held back for even a single season can be devastating. / page 5 post #49

Greg, when you are posting, there is a thing up in the right corner. When you are quoting, highlight the quote, and click the little talkie cloud thing. This thread is already confusing enough.
