Not defensive, I just know a lot of people probably are on the fence about this one so when I read the "accusation" thing it's like woah I know what's going on and not accusing anyone because I know what's happened and happening.
Anyways, maybe he'll come forth, maybe not.

When exactly did you see the room and the dead animals? Why did you not contact animal control? Just curious.

Roughly a month ago. I didn't inspect his room. I saw it was a disaster as is his whole house, I saw one dead snake at the time that he said was sick. I never contacted animal control because I don't feel I had enough for them to do anything with.

The ex house-mate did say she filed a report, unsure if she actually did or not though. She's the one with a lot of information and the actual photos. Of course having lived there as well. Unfortunately she still has yet to come speak, I emailed asking if she would. We'll see I suppose.

To clarify, you are saying you yourself witnessed dead animals in cages with live animals, and animals with serious infections living in their own feces, and you felt you did not have enough for animal control to do anything with? I would be correct in assuming that that is what you mean when you say you know all of the accusations are true?

Of course the people living in the house bear the brunt of the heinous mess of suffering there, but how could you see that and not do anything at all except post it on the internet a month later?

Like I said in the beginning I just wanted to post this and make people aware. I really have nothing more to add to it. I'd like for the ex to come speak(again I've asked) and for Kris to say something.

So you no longer say that you have first hand knowledge of everything the housemate has accused him of? Just trying to keep track. You were pretty sure you had personally witnessed it all a few posts ago.

Short of being hospitalized or jailed, nothing else could be seen as an excuse IMO. That's MONTHS of build up in there. I can't believe someone would just add water to those bowls and not clean the feces off of them. That's sickening.

And to hell with these "house mates". Drop a name, and maybe they'll come and tell there side. Threaten the owner of these animals with action if he don't show his sorry face too. I want to hear what he has to say, what his mind could deem as an excuse.

i agree with richard, at some point and in some situations, names have to be exposed. this isnt a broken night stand or horribly ripped up carpeting, these are animals that are being intentionally neglected. while i admire peoples dedication to confidentiality and honoring peoples private life, animals are/were at stake, you owe it to the animals (or whats left of them) as well as potential future dealings with this loser (and others like him), to list names of people that can vouch for all this. then it usually forces them to come on here and give their views and truths (hopefully)

It says on the flickr page that the animals have either died or been rescued, so does he even still have the animals??? Plus, what is wrong with the roommate that you just live there and know there are animals dying in the other room? Plus, come on... we all know there was a smell... Im just saying

They had their chance to take control of the problem and did nothing, which makes them an accessory to the fact. If I had a roommate whos animals were kept in this condition, he/she would have one choice.... move out immediately and leave the animals or I will call the police and have you arrested for animal cruelty, and if he did move out I would still make his name public to save peoples animals who might sell to him or buy from him. Plain and simple his roommates new the right thing to do and did nothing and I dont wanna hear and BS that it wasn't their place to say anything.

If and when these names come out all parties involved will be on my DO NOT BUY LIST.

You could possibly be right about the room mates, but I wouldn't be so quick to pass judgement. Everyone is different and could have several variables that could have kept them from doing something. Some people live with abusive spouses for years, sometimes a lifetime, just because they didn't do something about it doesn't make it wrong on them. What if these people had no where else to turn or place to live and the power was in this guys hands.

OK, i did find one way that proves that these are his reptiles....

its the VERY RARE, uncommon, one of a kind snake... a Cat-eatter hybrid (burm X rock), their not that many of them and the theirs markers that are on the snake in the flicker pics and his facebook pics

you can see the two white/cream rings with the one closer to the tall broken and how the cream lines in the middle of them are the same...

think its the same hybrid...that's enough proof for me....

ok good...lol was hoping someone understood what i was getting at, i think i made it sound alil confusing....yeah those cream rings on the snakes pattern give it away easy.....i did some looking and talk with someone about this hybrid....having hybrids myself i know how uncommon some of them are and you dont see these very offen and people like to show them off...., good for us that the person that took these had a pic of the hybrid in the mix.

im not looking to pick sides here, just looking for the truth here

I would rather take my stuff and live in a storage unit then that hole of a house. I wouldn't wish that on Charles Manson..... and hes a murderer. I can see where your coming from but it just reminds me of, you cant beat em, join em. and thats what they did by not telling anyone or heaven forbid cleaning the cages themselves. Id vomit on myself 100 times before I left that room looking that way. Just another example of bad press for our hobby if showed on the news, people would say "look at this disgusting house with these snakes" and I could assume some people would jump to conclusions that all people who have snakes keep their homes this way, if they don't know any better, or a snake owner.

I believe here in Missouri we are the #1 state for puppy mills. Those pictures look like puppy mill pictures only snakes. ( small cages, horrible conditions) they are trying to pass a bill here for harsher punishment against them. Point being there are way to many dogs to ban people from owning them. But as everyone knows they are trying to ban some reptiles and cases like this will only fuel the fire for more bannings.

While I understand your point, I have to disagree but let me give you some examples...

1)What if the roommate is absolutely terrified of snakes and wouldnt step foot in that room. My parents are my landlords as I am buying their old house. They dont even come over (or come inside) at the very least. I can get them to "drive-by" but they wont step foot inside, not even my father.

2)That room could have been locked up so tight that you would have to break the door down to get in. If that roomie had no knowledge of the filth behind the door, you really cannot associate them with that mess.

3)Maybe the roomie did all they could to get out of that particular situation as quickly as they could (financially speaking) and is now bringing this to the attention in proper channels. Sometimes, we take it for granted, but a lot of people live paycheck to paycheck and cannot just up and make a life-changing decision at the drop of a hat.

I like all the valid reasons, but if he/she was terrified of the snakes, how did they get the pictures with the cages open? Also the same thing with the room being locked down, how did they get the pictures?
