Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

The whole point of putting it on CL was because it was normal ball pythons and the shipping would be more than the actual snake. So yes it WOULD have been a face to face transaction.
 
Just because it is somewhat common on CL doesn't make it right. Way to hold yourself to a higher standard.
 
And you have proven our point. You lie to make a buck. Try telling the truth occasionally... you'll get much further in life and in business.
 
Jade.. It's in the Scammers Handbook I guess. Honesty is the best policy and will get you a lot further in your business status rather then lying your way through. Lies can only take you so far then when it's brought to the attention of possible future customers they are gonna start to wonder what else you are lying about and could/will lose you many sales. You may have had a few good customers but in the long run you have lost many sales by your own antics!

Unfortunately, there will always be people in the world who just don't care. :(

Michael...just a few words for you, although for the life of me, I don't know why, because you don't seem inclined to be open to any advice regarding business integrity.

If you look at this purely from a pragmatic point of view...forget (for now) being honest simply because it's the right thing to do. There will always be souls in the world that don't care two flips if you are prone to "little white lies" in your advertising...and even some who don't care that you whip out some giant whopper lies, so long as their own deal is good enough. BUT...there is a HUGE chunk of society that DOES care. And by being so willing to be dishonest, and to be so cavalier about it will turn off that entire customer base as soon as they know about it.

Also...you fretted that folks ignored your statement about how passionately you revealed the "truth" to your customers that called you. Quite frankly...if you continue to lie this way, I wouldn't believe anything you said if your tongue came notarized. So you can brag about how honest you are to your customers....doesn't mean a hill of beans because no one reading will ever be confident in anything you say.

Two VERY good reasons to stick with the truth as a general way of life. But...if you really don't care about any of that stuff...then by all means, carry on as you have been. And we'll continue pointing out the real facts to anyone willing to read and see.
 
Why is it that only the "BOI Bullies" with the 2500+karma points think this CL thing is a HUGE deal and want to try to tell me that Im a liar and lying to my customers? Thanks for the advice Judy but my sells and business have been doing just fine. Sorry I said I didnt know what sex my normal ball pythons were. You angels are telling me you have never lied before in your life? Your telling me that I should come on fauna, stay on the boi section 24/7, and rack up some karma points and then my business will strive like yours? I'm sorry but I think you guys let your rep power on this board go to your head and use it with the wrong intentions. (Im not only speaking for myself either)

Oh geez, this conversation sounds sickeningly familiar. I'm not going to get into it again. (And no, it was not with Micahel, it was with another guy in the Feedback forum)

Nobody said anything about racking up karma or spending any time on the BOI. I'm hardly here 24/7...look at my post count. I also don't run a for-profit business....but I am QUITE sure that if I did not have a strong reputation of integrity, the business I DO run would not be a fraction as successful as it is now. If you're content with a mediocre success based on half-assed honesty, that is entirely your prerogative.
 
Judy.. I was just having some flashbacks from that conversation as well... Honesty Earns you much more respect then blatently lieing. I've lost some sales due to being honest about my animals but you know what.. those people end up buying from me in the future when I have something they want because I earned their respect by being upfront with them. I know for a fact that Kevin has as well but his moral values are more important then making a sale which is much more needed in this industry with all the problems and Bad Guy threads that we see nowadays! I am not in this industry for the Profit.. I'm in it for the love of the animals as many people are nowadays! I have yet to make a cent on anything that I have sold.. all money made goes back into my hobby.

This has nothing to do with Karma or Reputation.. it is all about being upfront with your potential customers!
 
i use it in the wrong way? how can my opinion of a bad post be wrong? unless you're saying i don't have a right to post my opinion on an open forum? and you're post WAS about your karma, as your last.

The only thing I "lied" about was what I said on the CL posting so it would not get flagged.

All I said was I didnt know the sex of the snake.

When the interested party emailed or called me I explained to them why the ad said what it did and the list of animals I had for sale.

You are making it sound like Im selling a male saying its a female or something similar to that.

Deja vu.... Seems like we just recently had this convo before.

The HUGE deal is that you dont care if you lie to make a sale.... that says alot about your character. As for you being a liar.... did you not admit to lying so you could post on CL to get sales?

You can pick on my points if you like... but the truth of the matter is... I have those points because of my morals and integrity. You should try it.... you might 2500+ points as well.
