In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

These boys are driving me nuts trying to figure out what they are.

They were purchased off of fauna classifieds last year as "1.1" black pastel yellow bellies  which they obviously are not.(nooby move)

The 1.1 is in quotes because that was what they were supposed to be, until they popped and probed as both males.
The seller promptly offered a few different options and nothing really fit so he ended up sending a snake to my partner in another state, the seller said that snake was a male chocolate.
I lost the photo of this snake, grrr, but anyways the deal was finished and we just wanted to go on and raise them up to prove them out which I will do, but not knowing is a KILLER, lol.

They are now 650-750 grams each and have darkened some but otherwise they haven't changed a whole lot from hatchling size till now.

Supposedly the Sire was a black pastel and the Dam was a WC possible yb from outback reptiles.

Any thoughts would be highly appreciated :shrug01:

With one of my female yellow belly's for comparison

id say the belly pic of the one is def a yellow bely, but as for the other gentics idk, but i would love the one on the left. He looks soooo cool even if he proves out to be nuthin more than a normal. The lil j hooks get me. Since he is a male breed him to a yellowbelly and a black pastel/cinny and try and prove them both in one year. If hes nuthin more than a normal get in contact with me, id keep him as a nice pet.

I have pictures of black pastel yellow bellies, in fact my partner has 2 on hold, these look nothing like the black pastel yb pictures I have.
I will ask for permission to post them too...

They both have the same blushing, color, patterning and belly so I'm pretty sure they are the same "whatever" they are, lol
The flash takes away from the yellow tinge the belly's have that is exactly like my normal yb girls belly's

This is the snake on the right

I've hatched 3 clutches of yb's and every single one had a yellow belly as a baby but lost a lot of that yellow as they matured.
My 1500 gram yb girl has a pretty white belly these days, lol.

I'm not 100% sold that these are a combo, but I'd be pretty shocked if they weren't.

For reference only, these are not my pictures but Tom Barnhart gave me permission to post them.
I'm pretty skeptical the dinker boys have black pastel in them.

thefloating aliens gives the blackpastel away all that blushing is from the yellowbelly gene. the other one looks like a normal to me with out seeing belly.

Im not saying it isnt a black pastel but i have had normals that had the floating alien heads and looked exactly like a black pastel, but never proved genetic, here is a pic of the one im talking about, the dark one on the right

here is another pic of her side to show the floating heads

So u cant always use floating heads as a definite identifier.

Maybe it has sumthin to do with the different lines of yellow bellies? Didnt u say the Dam was a wc poss YB?

They are definitely atleast YB. They look like they might have something else going on though, especially the one on the left in the 2nd pic. It is possible that they are Black Pastel YBs, just because they don't look like those others owned by Tom doesn't mean they aren't... I've seen proven genetic lines of Black Pastels that look no better than Normals, and other Black Pastels that totally ROCK. The only way to know for sure is to breed them though  Good luck!

Thanks Abby!

I've tried to keep the enthusiasm of not knowing to a dull roar, lol, but man after a full year of owning them and marveling at their amazing flames and blushing and how different they are than anything I've seen or can find pictures of, I'm going into dinker madness
No lock ups yet, hopefully soon...

As far as them being different from each other, In person they look exactly alike except some pattern difference, I'm pretty sure they both will prove to be the same thing but will breed them to different girls to make sure.
Color wise, blushing and flames, head spot and the belly are very much the same on both snakes.

I'm guessing they are the same too - I love that left one though ;) and dinker madness is good, I've got a couple here myself that I'm dying to prove!

I'm enjoying them, that's mostly what matters :)

That one on the left has a bit more WoW factor going for sure.
We were going to breed him to a yellow belly female but thought maybe just a normal would be better to prove out what else might be going on?
