    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I believe this is where ''we'' will get brought down is through the transit of all exotic pets. the Lacy act is good for taking out a species or two here and there but to get real control they will have to regulate air traffic which in this country at it's current state I don't think it will be to hard for them them to achieve. I could be wrong on the affect the no air shipping would have on the "hobby" I will start a poll in another area to see what % of business is done locally and what % is out of state. I think the problems with shipyourreptiles is just the beginning.
 
I use ship your reptiles and i have never had a problem with them at all. But i just got on there site a few weeks ago to get a free shipping quote for some one and it said they having TECHNICAL ISSUES and will be shipping again soon as can. I got on today to check and it still say's this. Does any one know whats going on? i dont have another way to ship from here. Fedex is just to high on price and ups stores here in my city say they can't ship rep's at all. are there other sites i can use?

Lizzards, i only breed bearded dragons and leopard geckos.

I have always used shipyourreptiles and now there site say's this so i dont know whats going on now. I wont be shipping for a few months but i would of liked to know if they are still working.

Certified fedex shippers get discounts that usually only 5-10 more than UPS.

And that might even be a high estimate. If you're not certified, their prices are definitely higher (which you'd have to be certified to ship reptiles). Since you have a few months, I'd urge you to get certified. You have plenty of time (as long as you start soon!).

I am fedex certified, and still fedex is alot higher than shipyourreptiles.

I have tried useing fedex but every time i gave a quote to the person they say "oh never mind thats to high" or "wow thats a price" or "can you go lower on the animal" and i end up with the animal for months and months. But once i started on shipyourreptiels i was shipping alot.

you said there are discounts with fedex? how do i get these? I have my acc num i have on fedex express airbills.

If you went through the process of becoming certified, which would have entailed shipping a practice box to prove you can pack, your discounts should be applied automatically. Now, I ONLY ship snakes so I don't know if you comparing different services (I know that different rules apply for shipping lizards, but I am not familiar with those differences).

I just know that the first time I used Fed Ex, I was gritting my teeth because I knew their rates were higher than UPS (getting quotes online withOUT using an account number). When I got my first price, I was amazed that it was about the same as when I was able to legally use SYR. This is what I based my statement on, as I have since shipped many snakes via FE and had no real pricing issues.

ok well i did all the sending box stuff, i am certified to ship reptiles by fedex. I just got on fedex site on my account and did a quote and well, its not giving me no discounts at all....

you can see the standard list rates are same as My rates... i just picked jan5th just so i can see a quote.

Those rates happens alot with larger heavier boxes when using the quote system. Usually its best to fill out the actual shipping form and get a actual price to direct address.
 
heres my discounts.

Like states box size plays the role in quotes. Final one be will you fill out the actual forms with your address and receivers address

Yes you can do it online.


I personally dont do online but i do the Airway Bills. Its same thing just Hand written. You can get 500 or so pre printed free with your information on it, just fill out customers address out, then stick the label to the box and go pay for it at the hub, or have it billed to account for later payment after delivery.

The old saying of... you get what you pay for holds true... even between shipping companies.

Some things to consider

As long as your willing to get certified... anyone can ship via FedEx... this is not the case with UPS. Why do you want to give them your money?

In reguards to my someone local hubs. I can take a package in anytime of the day to FedEx and it will be accepted and shipped out. BOTH of my UPS hubs have hours of operation that is not conducive to customer service (open 8am-11am & 3pm-5pm)... Once again.. .why give UPS your money. They obviously dont care about customer service or they will operate thruout the day at the counter.

Agreed - I can drop off at my local FedEx hub until 8:30 p.m. - less time in shipping for my critters as well, which is a plus!

I have the airbills preprinted with my acc num and info. only thing im worried about is what do i tell the person im shipping to on the price cause they got to pay me first before i can make a airbill for them.
Now also when they do bill my account, does it like take out of our bank acc or send us a bill?

Its odd How your rates and mine are either lower or higher. Gotta love how reps dont have consistency top priority
