In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

quick breeding question.

I'll second THAT one!! ;)

Good luck Cody. There's really no way to know when-- or as Shadera mentioned, IF--she'll ovulate. Don't want to scare you, but there is always a chance of her reabsorbing her follicles. Best of luck to you! What is she? And what do you think (or know) sired her?

She is a normal and was either sired by my normal or spider, for the past few months I've been focusing on the spider more, here are a few pics of her breeding and her wrapping her bowl. Sorry for the crappy cell phone pics.

Good looking couple. In my own personal experience, more often than not, the last male with the female is the one that sires the clutch. Like I said, not always. And I've produced a clutch with 2 sires so you just never know until you see them. She's a very pretty normal so you should produce some nice babies with either sire!

Thanks Matt! Also is there any way I should alter the temps at this point? Or just keep them at about 75-80?

75-80 is good on the cool side, but make sure they have a warm side of at least 89-92. I never really lower mine at all. The most I do for "cooling" anymore is to not run my extra extra heater for a week or two. That's all I did last year and from breeding 20 females, I produced 17 clutches of eggs...with NO RI's!

If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

LOL...I got distracted while making my post so Shadi beat me to it. My post was totally based on my own opinion and what has worked for me. Besides, I always worry about BP's and RI's and lower temps. What can I say...I'm paranoid. :)

I've heard that bringing the temps back up can cause them to ovulate. But again, I never lower my temps so I can't give any advice from personal experience about that. When I answered earlier, I was just thinking that you had them too low. A few years ago I tried lowering my temps in Oct to get a few ready to breed. Before I had anyone breeding, I was calling the vet, treating RI's and never even managed to produce a single clutch, hence my paranoia! Since then I've never done any extreme temp drops, but let the ambient temps brought on by Mother Nature do my cooling. Have been much more lucky with this system.

My bad, I was thinking those were ambient temps.

I'm of the school of thought that temps don't have to be lowered to get these animals to breed. We can't fool mother nature, and even the minute changes we humans never catch are enough to tell them it's time to procreate. I too don't think it's worth the risk of an RI.

You can probably raise your temps at any time. As long as you have a proper gradient, your female will move to where she needs to be for the stage she's in.

Okay, I'm temperarilly functioning on one thermostat which is currently hooked up to the incubator (which has nothing in it) I'll swap the thermostat over to the rack and buy another one for the incubator. Also, the RI you guys are refering to is respratory infection right?

That's awesome! I'm hoping to get SOME kind of action soon, but my guys/gals are hardly even breeding. Boas are going crazy, but the balls are really looking like it might be a light, late season for me.

I'm hoping my Pastel female (going to be breeding a het pied male) will get up to weight later in the season, shes currently at 1,120 grams SOOO CLOSE! lol It sucks when I have two breeder females! I need more snakessss!!!!
