Two things that I can see:
1. He couldn't have even taken possession of that snake until Tuesday the 18th, at the earliest.

2. Somehow the snake has gained 30+ grams in 5 days.

Sad...yes. Bad guy.....not really. If he had tried to hide that fact, then I would have a different opinion. I too am confused as to what exactly is wrong here. Maybe there is something that I am simply missing.

Hi Laura,

What's really weird is he offered me a Pastel Mystic and the pictures he sent is something Pastel, I'm not convinced it's a Pastel Mystic. He said the snake weighed 100+ grams but in the picture it's only 70grams. He also has some animals listed for sale including a Mystic but no Pastel Mystic. The difference in value from a Mystic vs Pastel Mystic is $1000.00 and I'm suspecting the snake in the pics can be a Pastel Yellow Belly
or Firefly that are much are worth much less.

I don't blame you for being suspicious at all. Given the value of the animals you are dealing with here I would err on the side of paranoia myself. With previous bad guy threads my level of suspicion would be elevated even further.

BUT I am not sure suspicion justifies a Bad Guy thread. I'm not sure he has done anything during your business transaction thus far with him to justify a bad guy thread. Info thread..... absolutely. Now if it turns out that he is trying to scam you by lying about the genetics or weight then I would absolutely agree that the bad guy title is appropriate. But only time will tell which it turns out to be.

In terms of the weight thing, it may not be entirely out of the question for the snake to have put on some weight since he got it especially if he is feeding it every couple of days. He also might have weighed it when it was full instead of empty. I'm not trying to say that his weight is accurate, I am just trying to give a second possible explanation for the difference.

I wish you were more clear and didn't add all that confusion in your message to me. I think the best way to clear your name is not in pm but withing this thread.

Like I said I never heard of Mike Simmon or Simmons or Simmons Snakes. Is he a fauna member. I am interested in a Pastel Mystic but I need to feel comfortable that's what I would get and you would need to stand behind it with a guarantee of it's genetics. Do you have the Pastel Mystic in your possession and can you provide me quality pics?

I do have a question. You mentioned to me on the phone that you were only acting as a middle man for Mike Simmons and that the Pastel Mystic was in mike Simmons possession. You also told me my Het Pied Mojave was for Mike and that you wouldn't be making anything off this trade.

It's not like you actually know the guy - "Mike", I mean. That is clearly evidenced from your emails. This "Mike" dude is a total stranger, if he even really exists.

Here are your emails to & from "Mike Simmons". Do they really sound like this guy knows you enough to ask you to be an intermediary in a trade? Where are those emails?

Not to disrupt your argument, Laura, but I was offered a mystic in trade for one of my adult female spiders last fall ('10). Of course, she was a bit bigger, a proven breeder, and.....well....mine
That part of it isn't all that unreasonable.
