In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Inquiry Anyone deal with Richard Allen / Reptile Rapture ?

Good Guy

I knew Richard when living in WI and he was always a nice guy and was always fair. I don't think you have anything to worry about.

I purchased a female pinstripe from this guy using kingsnake.com. He promptly shipped but the snake was cold when it got here because he used "hothands" and not actual reptile heat packs which guarantee steady warm for a given amount of time. Week later the snake is doing fine. My main problem with this guy was the pictures he posted were over 4 months old when the snake was still very young and color of the snake got a lot darker. If you buy from this guy over the internet make sure and tell him to use REAL heat packs and to send you updated pictures.

Also his return policy sucks. He wanted me to pay for shipping on the return after his bait and switch tactic of using neonate photos and not up to date photos.

Not saying anything regarding the hot hands or the packing job, but wanted to comment about reptile heat packs. In my experience, they do not last as long as they say they will. At least half the shipments I recieved back when I used to have a bigger collection were ice cold when they arrived with a dead heat pack. Now this time around, all 3 of my snakes were shipped to me, from 3 different people in different areas of the country. All 3 arrived cold with dead heat packs, even though the heat packs were the 40-hour and 60-hour ones. In my experience, they either run out of oxygen to keep fueling the chemical reaction, or the person doesn't really work them and let them heat to full capacity before putting them in the box. Just my $.02.

The issue really wasn't with the hot hands. It was with the photo of the snake that was used to represent it. The picture was much more light colored and yellowed than the actual snake. I am not accusing him of photoshop scandal. But the color snake in the picture was drastically different than the snake I received.

your suppost to put a dime size hole in the top layer of insulation so air will pass through the heat pack, was this done?

No, there was not a "dime size hole in the top layer of insulation so air will pass through the heat pack". I haven't heard of this before, in face, this is the first reptile I've ever received from shipping. I've always, until now, purchased reptiles face to face, so I know what I'm getting. I just made the mistake of trusting this guys pictures from market.kingsnake.com. It's sad, but, it discourages me from purchasing online again.

i have gotten plenty of animals from him and they were awesome. if you were concerned about the picture you should have asked for updated pictures. never had a problem with anything. why did you wait a week before complaining about the snake? refer to his website for the terms.

I still have your email from the day you received her stating that "she's beautiful" and that you were happy with her. Then a week later you email me telling me you found another pin for less money. Suddenly you felt that the snake you got from me was not worth what you paid. I did offer to give you your money back. Regardless of it being a week later and the statement you made of finding one cheeper somewhere else. All my ads clearly state to see my website for my terms. My terms clearly state that I do not cover return shipping.

I went back and checked, the pictures of the snake were only a few months old. I would have been happy to send more pics of her, if you had asked.

In regards to any holes in the box, I always put holes in the sides of every box I ship. The heat packs we use work the same as the ones stating they are for reptiles. If there were not holes in the box and with the heat pack activated it would have used up all the air and the snake would have arrived dead.

If I need to cut and paste your emails on here to back up what I'm saying, I will.

Ive been to richards store a few times now and purchased a few animals from him. All of them are in excelent health and his store is in excelent shape. All of his cages are in sparkling clean condition and every animals appears to be cared for properly. Animals that need mercury vapor have them which is rare to see in a lot of stores atleast around here. most places will only use low grade UVB bulbs to save on costs. He has great prices for being a store. I have bought a few crestys from him and they may have been traded in by someone but he could have easily got double what i paid for them. The two geckos in this picture with the tails for $175 great price http://www.facebook.com/album.php?a...86403963.47276.193592020661003&type=1&theater Richard knows his stuff and is very fair i would recomend anyone check out his store. He does breed some of his animals and while he cant offer breeder prices on everything you can be sure that you are getting a high quality and healthy animal.

Top 3 reasons Richard is one of the best in the business-

#3 - His store is well setup, clean, its easy to view the animals... and animals are healthy
#2 - Top notch customer service. If he does not have an answer (and that is a challenge to stump him) he will get the answer.
#1 - He cares! Most importantly about the animals and his customers, but also about the community.

Def a good guy...

I purchased two boas from Reptile Rapture last year. He allowed me to place a deposit on them to reserve them, and I paid them off w/in a week (payday). He shipped promptly, they arrived fine & were packed properly. Upon closer examination it was determined that I was sent two females instead of a sexed pair. I notified him of this just as a FYI, & w/o asking he offered to refund $100 of the purchase price. Who does that these days? The snakes are great & I would not hesitate to do business with or refer someone to Reptile Rapture. Good/honest guys/gals in my experience.
