Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I never said anything about wanting free animals. Picking up trash does not make someone an American either. So I'm not exactly sure where that came from but your reply really has no substance. It's pretty much all hot gas. The fact remains...what someone does with their animals is none of your business unless they are breaking the law. So you have no right to tell someone that's not ok. Whether you think it's right or wrong does not matter.
 
I think a person's word means something, even if the law doesn't come in to play. But if she didn't promise to never resell then I don't think that is an issue either.

I don't understand your logic. She can sell a free animal to make money, it's none of anyones business, and we don't have a right to say anything because she is not breaking the law.

BUT, he doesn't have the right to think it's "not OK" and say so on a public forum? He's not breaking the law "so you have no right to tell someone that's not ok," Right?
 
LOL, it's called "character", "morals" . To each their own, but when someone is GIVEN something on "good faith", then the RIGHT thing to do is contact the original owner and ask if they can take it back. If they couldn't, then do as you wish.

Regardless, there is a right way and a wrong way.
 
So let's talk right from wrong...It's not ok to take animals someone else did not want to take the time to sell and sell them yourself...but it's ok to publicly slander someone for trying to make a few bucks on something that was given to them??? There is nothing wrong with selling an animal you got for free. In fact I just gave up a dragon because I needed the space and I didn't get any money for it. It went to a pet store around here that I know will take care of it. They will eventually sell in and I knew this going into it but you don't see me crying and calling people names for it. You guys are sad.

And MORALS, CHARACTER??? Are you serious? Morals and character has nothing to do with this. Go hug a tree or save a whale. But don't get into an adult discussion with crap like that. Someone didn't teach you right.
 
Dude are you high? No one has slandered anyone. I stated I have different standards when it comes to selling free animals. You're the one making silly comments like "adult discussion" and "somone didn't teach you right."

It's already stated that there is nothing illegal with selling a free animal. There is also nothing illegal with keeping 75% of donations when you run a charity. Is it ethical to some people? NO and that's our opinion.
 
Trust me "smash" I'm the furthest thing you ever dreamed of from huggin a tree or saving a whale. You may want to read and then comprehend what you read.

As for the adult discussion, I'll put my children on, they most likely would be able to talk on your level better then I.
 
I think this is just getting out of hand now. If you guys haven't read all ready, everything is cleared. It was a big misunderstanding and we both learned our lessons. Apologies were given and accepted.

Now, is there a way to lock this thread before anything else escalates?
 
Unfortunately not. Nothing is deleted or edited in the BOI, although much should. This way, people can view these little exchanges for centuries to come.
 
Oh joy. Well, hopefully the others will let this die off at least. Is there anyway you can edit the original post to mention it was all dealt with and such?
 
Wow so this is how you guys work huh...don't like a comment so you give negative karma??? Cool. Do you guys just troll around looking for people to give negative karma to? That's so shady. Other people can give their opinion but when I do I get hit with that? That's totally ufair of you guys to do that. Especially since I can't return the favor.

Sorry Michael and Jennifer. I realized this matter had been resolved, however, I just wanted to state my point that not everyone thinks it's ok to sell a free animal like it's an inanimate object. While this might have just been a one time thing for you, there are a lot of people out there that do nothing but flip free animals and I don't want it appear that this whole website has their back for doing such. At least I don't. I apologize for derailing the thread.

It's fine Focal, and honestly like I stated - I wasn't in it for money. I don't know much about AHS, and guessed that the price was reasonable. And I was very serious about who they would go to. I wasn't going to let them go to someone else with the chance they might get shifted elsewhere -again-..because I really did feel bad I was letting them go again. And any money that I DID earn would have gone towards my other animals. In fact, a good 80% of my extra money is SPENT on them. In this case, I ended up not selling them after all. I've gotten -very- smart about what I want to work with and I don't rush into buying something or getting something right off the bat like I did.

But, I'm going to take Michael's advice and probably ignore the rest of this thread until it dies down. If ANYBODY wants to discuss any of this with me outside of this thread, they are free to email or message me. I don't mind.
