• Responding to email notices you receive.
    **************************************************
In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

  • IMPORTANT! PLEASE READ!! About the Google Adsense ads being displayed

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Dean Stemple Strictly Exotics BAD GUY!

The only comment I have here--and I'm not taking sides on this issue at all--is that it's quite possible he paid the once-a-year domain registration last November, but hasn't had the money to be able to afford his HOSTING lately.

That said, it's fairly easy to find good, free or very cheap hosting, including through, say, Google, and move a site over. But JUST because the domain's still active doesn't mean a recent payment was made on it.

This - ^^^

Not to be taken as defending or sticking up for him, but having an active domain name is not the same as having access to email under that domain...

Don't think it changes the reality of what's going on here, just don't want correct information to go unnoticed in the bloodbath...

Ive been in contact with Dean and he says he is worried about replying due to the divorce and that he forgot his fauna password.............wait, I already said I was done. I guess Im a gluten for BS:dgrin:

I'm sorry...my bad.

I sincerely apologize for ever doubting anyone's word.

I'll just slither off to my corner now...:ack2:

I didn't mean that in the slightest negative way towards you donna. Just saying you had a good point, but from the looks of things, your good point would have quickly been cast aside by more lies. Please by all means slither back out of your corner now! :D

I really don't understand what the divorce has to do with this thread or that money? I don't think he has to worry Chris' money would be divided with the rest of the assests if he admits he has it or the animals? :shrug01: So why not just make it right. It's still not to late to do the right thing here Dean and i'm still hoping that you will!

LOL-I've been standing right behind you, silly!

I lost my password. I simply clicked the option, forgot password?:dgrin:

The problem with that is... his registered email here is his business email and he doesn't have access to that one anymore. So clicking that wouldnt matter.

Same will go for me in May.... I will loose my business email accounts because I am not renewing the business URL

She has a very good point.

My hosting expires on Aug 2nd of this year and the following URL's expire at different times.

RTR - May of this year
Personal Portal - Feb 2012
Gardening site - Feb 2012
KBP - June of this year

Key is.... doesn't matter when they expire if I dont pay my hosting.... I cant get to my info.

Why is so hard to retreive?

Why is so hard to retreive?

If his email that is tied to his fauna account is hosted thru his business ... and he cant get to his business email... then how is sending a new password via the automated features here going to help? He cant get to that email to change his password.

You cant just type in what email you want the new one sent to. If that was the case then all I'd have to do is take your username.... say I couldn't remember my password and ask to have a new one set to MY email addy... and you'd never be able to log in again and I'd be able to play under YOUR name.

Why is so hard to retreive?

An email address through an email "provider" -- such as Yahoo, hotmail, gmail, etc, can pretty much always be accessed anywhere, at any time, and you never lose access to these.

A "custom" email -- like, for example, my business email, [email protected], where the email depends on my domain name (14thstreetgeckos.com), usually vanishes with EITHER the domain registration, or the hosting, depending on how you set it up. It's kind of a weird mess. Some registrars host email, some you have to have your host do.

In my example, godaddy.com is my registrar, I paid them to buy my domain name; but slicehost.com is our web host, they store our content and provide our bandwidth. If Dean's webhost has his email, he's probably lost all access to it and it's essentially "gone". If his registrar manages it, he should still be able to get at it.

Now, you CAN set it up so that an email provider actually manages the email account as yet a third component. gmail.com actually manages webmaster@14thstreetgeckos, neither godaddy or slicehost do it. So even if I stopped paying for hosting today, I'd have access to that email address until my domain expires. However, when the domain expires, the email address vanishes along with it.

A basic email address is a useful thing to have for reasons like this; but, if Dean did have his email set up to his custom domain name, and can no longer access that email, the "forget password" link is useless to him, as the password reminder or reset goes to that email address.
