robert, did you not look the snake over when you were buyin it? if it had mites then you would have seen them at that time. And you were told the snake had prolapse before. You still bought the snake knowing of a problem. Rodney was goin to refund you, and you didnt take it. And you come on here with a screen shot and no real facts, and someone bites your " lets bash rodney " for your mistakes. I'm glad to here you're gettin it treated and are caring for the snake. but dont bash because you f'ed up

I am at fault here as well. I fronted him money and took a sickly snake (one of the last 2010 leftovers) so I could wait for a decent one from his 2011 clutch.
 
Wow, is all I can say. This guy is new to keeping snakes and this is how you guys treat him when he bring his problems to you. I thought the BOI is where people bought their experience with sellers or buyer, good or bad. The guy doesn't have to be a vet to be informed of diesese or illness in his snake, that's why we have a little thing called internet research. Mites are sometimes hard to see especially if the infestation is not that bad, plus they love to sit underneath a snakes scales and in little nooks. They aren't just walking around like "Hey look at me, I'm a mite lol". Also what you guys are failing to realize is that it is the sellers duty to make sure that he/she is selling an animal in good health, not the buyers. Rodney knew that the animal had a prolapse and he still sold it. Rodney knew that because of his lack of quarintine, mites had spread into his collection and HE still sold the animal. In my eyes, if a seller knowingly sells a sick snake, that more than warrants a bad guy thread. And a screenshot of a seller admitting to knowingly selling a snake with mites is more than fact, it proof that he is a total scumbag. I mean come on, who in their right mind would have an outbreak of mites and still go on selling animals without making sure that the animals they are selling isn't infested.
 
i can think of quite a few, unfortunately. too bad its about the almighty dollar with these awesome creatures.

Then you are stating Rodney was lying because he stated he didn't know this snake had mites either. So they both missed it. He admitted that he probably did because some other snakes in his possession had them as well. That statement is ridiculous. Not anything close to fact. It can easily be missed by anyone depending on the amount of infestation. Apparently they both missed it.
Trying to place the blame solely on the buyer with that fact is asinine.

That is nobodies fault but the seller. Regardless if the buyer missed it, He knew he had a problem in his collection and still was selling without disclosing to his buyer.

The prolapse issue is completely different. I don't think any facts other than the buyer was informed about it beforehand has been proven. The started of this thread is working on assumptions at this point.

Anyway, the seller agreed to make it right with a exchange before this thread was started. Seemed to be a willingness to settle this before it came to here. I would have tried to settle the manner before starting this thread.

I see nothing asked about a refund, If the buyer didn't want to accept another snake. This most likely could have been resolved before it got here. Maybe a agreement still can be made. Whatever the case, if there is an option to return the snake the seller shouldn't be obligated to cover the Vet bills unless he chooses that method to settle with the buyer. that is if he is willing to refund or the buyer agrees to another settlement.
 
Knowing Rodeny, he propably downplayed the prolapse. I mean geez, he will sell a snake right out of the egg to anybody, with no guarantee that the animal will eat or is even healthy enough to eat. So what if he can replace the sick animal, he shouldn't be selling any kind of sick or unhealthy animal AT ALL. The replacement animal may be healthy, but his ethics and morals are totally crappy
 
while i do agree with Jesus on the above, i do believe that it is a shared "sales transaction", and still some true unknowns on this whole "deal".

i havent looked into it personally, but are there terms and conditions posted by Rodney somewhere, either on his site (i actually do not know if he has one or not), or were there full disclosures and terms/conditions at presented to the buyer either verbally and/or in writing ??

if so, what are they ??


not that condone in any percentage of way to sell babies fresh out of the egg, at least its a higher probabilty of receiving a healthy animal hahaha
 
so i got a text about this post so i figured i should address it. i sold that retic to rob. i told him about the prolapses. i didnt think it would be a problem. it only prolapsed once and it was a very small prolapses. i also told him if he had any problems with the snake to let me know and i would replace. i talked to rob today about it before i heard about this. ive since talked to him again after reading this. this got posted on my purple add and a guy backed out on a sale because of this. so now im out money because rob got mad. he said he talked to jesus and he told him to post this. even though im really pissed and this has cost me a sell. i will still replace the animal like i said i would but it will be my last transaction with rob. he bought the snake at a show and didnt have the cash to pay for it. he wanted to pay me with his smart phone and i said ok and trusted him to send money to my paypal. tell me how many people would trust him to pay like that. he gave me what i was asking for the snake and he deserves to get his moneys worth so he will get what he paid for but he is diffintely going on the do not sell to list along with angel whos on a lot of peopels do not sell to list.

now for my dealings with angel or jesus or tigger the tiger or whatever name hes going by this week. we did a trade a little over a year ago. i was warned about dealing with him before i did the trade and i should have listened. it was still cold out when we did the trade i wanted to wait until it was warmer but he couldnt wait. so i sent him the snake he said it was fine and then a few days later he said it was sick and hacking up blood and had a ri and he was going to take it to the vets. i told him not to take it to the vets and to send it back and i would give it shots for free. he didnt listen and took it to the vets and was charged over $300 or so he said and then wanted me to pay for it. i said no. he said he didnt want to send me the snakes and have me do the shots because i wasnt a vet. but the vet he took it to gave it one shot of amicacin (with not extra fluid) and some oral baytril. now for those of us that actually know something about giving snakes antibiotics we know the one shot of amacacin wont do anything and the oral baytril wont do anything either with how slow a snake metabolism is not to mention given amacacin without fluid can blow out their kidneys. i told him all of this and told him the vet ripped him off and i wasnt paying for it. i here from him again and he said the snake was fine and then about a month later i heard from him and he was telling me the snake was sick again and by this point i really didnt care. then a few months later i get a friend request on facebook from a jesus blackman saying hes angels brother and he bought the snake off his brother he didnt say if it was sick or anything and i never heard anymore about it.

now as for me selling babies before they eat. i dont just sell babies that arnt eating. im willing to sell a baby that hasnt eaten if the person is ok with getting them started themselves. if you cant get a baby retic to eat then chances are your an idiot and you shouldnt own a retic to begin with.

and angel your not a retic breeder you got lucky with one female. you have been kicked off almost every forum and classified for how you act. who in their right mind is going to buy a snake from you. you have irritated almost everyone in the country that has retics. in all fairness i havnt been making friends lately for posting things that maybe i shouldnt be posting but i dont call people names or make up lies about them i post my opinion and and state it as such. i dont go around trying to get people mad at other people like angel has done. namely with me and this thread
 
Once again Rodney, it is a felony in the state of PA to practice veterinary medicine without a license, and me and my brother did not want to partake in said illegal activity. My brother Angel contacted you about a trade for your lav tiger male as we wanted to use him for breeding. You agreed to ship him. When the snake arrived he was cold, as you only put one little heat pack in the box with him. The temps that day was around 45, I have recieved snakes from Greg Bryant at the Retic Ranch in those temps and don't get so much as a fart from them. A couple days later the snake was "coughing" up mucus. Rodney was informed of it and given pix. Then the snake started "coughing" up mucus with blood in it, once again Rodney was informed and given pix. We informed Rodney that we were going to take the snake to a vet, Rodney said don't do it, and asked that the snake be shipped back to him so that he can give the snake injections himself. When Rodney was informed that it was a felony and therefore illegal to practice veterinary medicine without a license, he stated "who gives a :censored: if its legal or not". Not wanting to add stress to the snake by shipping him back, and not being comfortable with a person who is NOT a vet giving injections of meds to the snake, my brother took the snake to the vet. The total amount spent at the vet was $ 266.00, and NEVER once did we ask Rodney to pay any part of it.

all the stuff you said on my facebook page is still there. calling people racist and all kinds of stuff. and if anybody want to know about the breeding competition go to my facebook page and look in my pics and you will see what that is about. as for you causing problems. i talked to rob about this and he said you told him to start a thread. i think that counts as starting problems.

angel dose this on every thread he gets on. it never stops with him. i feel bad for rob for listening to you about anything. he seems like a nice guy but i guess hes going to have to learn the hard way whos ok to deal with in this industry and whos not.

angels looking for an argument like always thats what this comes down too. he just wants to fight and cause problems as always. i cant wait until he hatches out some retics and trys to sell them. with his reputation he has his work cut out for him.

now are there any questions that havnt been answered. i will up hold my word in replacing the animal. sorry about the mites. i cant believe hold big a deal people made out of that. if you have a larger collection and have a lot of snakes coming in and out you are going to get mites from time to time. rob admitted that he knew about the prolapse before he bought the snake. i wouldnt have sold the snake if i didnt think it was ok. he even said in the facebook post that the snake want to the bathroom once and there was no problem. that prolapse in the pic is much worse then the one time it prolapsed when i had it. it was my fault the snake prolapsed the first time i over fed him. usually you can feed a retic quite a bit and not have to worry about a prolapse.

now im being called a scumbag for this. i think rob needs to realize that if someone else would have sold him that snake and he had problems with it they wouldnt replace it and i think everyone knows that (except rob). so rob and angel can call me a scumbag and whatever else they like ill still give rob a new snake for his troubles.
 
Imo this thread was pointless. Rob and yourself had a mature conversation with you telling him you would make the problem right by replacing the animal if he wanted to do that. Where is the issue here?
 
how bout it. i told him i would make it before there was even a problem. i told him if he had a problem i would make it right. thats why he got a call from me when i heard about this and i wasnt too happy. that why i really dont feel this warranted a bad guy thread. angel put him up to this. the monster snake forum fans arnt real happy with me right now so i guess i should have seen this coming
 
i hope this gets resolved, but Rodney if you knew the snake had mites, why sell it at all until it was treated and clear? Did the OP know about the mites beforehand? i understand the part about him knowing about the prolapse, and personally i would have never purchased the animal until the seller had it treated. but it seems like you are downplaying the fact that your collection has mites and that you could have possibly infected his collection. most people know how to properly quarantine, but you can't be guaranteed that everyone practices those methods.
