In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Inquiry Rodent Pro?

Some of the best. And I cant find anyone near as cheap as them.

Well now that I read Richards issue I will say that a few orders ago I asked for Rat peach fuzzies and requested they be around the 15g mark. Well I got the order, and checked them out, only one of them had fur and was 17gs the rest were all pinks around 9-11gs. But if ur gonna call sumthin peach fuzzies atleast send sumthin out with fur on it. Now I did call them back and expressed my unhappiness with the order, and they went ahead and credited me the difference between rat pinks and rat fuzzies, and all was well. It was handled quickly and professionally and even tho I got stuck with small prey, Id be able to keep them in my freezer incase I get another youngun, or problem feeder.

But after what Rich said I think Im gonna go check my rats again cuz I got a pretty big order of pups and weanlings. But I didnt notice anything obvious...

Before I retired from the business, I was relying exclusively on RodentPro for the frozen pinky mice I needed for my corn snakes. Although I did breed my own mice, I just found it much more convenient and time efficient to use frozen thawed pinks instead of trying to feed live. Just the time involved to pull 1 day old pinks every night was substantial, so frozen thawed saved me a BUNCH of time.

Problem was, most places selling pinks sold them in mixed lots of ages and sizes. There is a substantial difference between the size of a 1 day old pink and a 3 day old pink. Which just does not work with baby corn snakes. Rodent Pro was one of the very few willing and able to get me the smallest pinks I needed for the snakes I was feeding them to. When you are feeding around 300 baby corn snakes per day to get them all fed within a decent schedule, you need to have a consistent and reliable supply of exactly the right sized feed items for them.

There was only one time that I can recall getting a batch that was a bit too large for my needs, but Casey took care of the problem and got me what I needed in a hurry.

I dealt with them for a long time, and have no doubts whatsoever that if I were still in the business, I would be still getting shipments from them.

ps, I have to admit that I do miss getting the dry ice. I found out that the fire ants around here just HATED it when I put dry ice on their mounds....

I use them and love them. Well packed & shipped rodents. We have ours shipped through Grayhound. Clean product never any issues with one exception. Their pinkies tend to have a few broken off parts. But other than that all good!

That sucks Richard; I did the math years ago with 30 big boas and doing my own winds up making me money for what it's worth to the masses??

Well packed? I've heard that plenty of times in this thread, and just don't see it. If tossing a bunch of rats in a bag constitutes being well packed, I guess. Here's what I get, are any of yours better packed then this? Trying to figure out if it's just me or what...

Guess I should count my blessings they didn't try to charge me extra for all the loose turds bouncing around in a lot of the bags.

Now the competitors packaging on the other hand. I won't bring their name into it because this thread is Rodent Pro's...

Now that is what I would refer to as packed well. Sounds like some of you should shop around a little. You might be surprised with what you receive for your money. Like I said, I won't use Rodent Pro again. I got my regulars, and I'll stick to them.

You are right..aesthetically, Big Cheese looks better, but I just don't see that is worth the difference in price. My snakes don't mind, and they are healthy, so I am happy.

This one is from RodentPro, though I must say that most of my bags look like Rick's. Also, the little buggers seem to claw through the bags A LOT (even though they are quite dead). This sucks because I thaw in water during the winter and some of my snakes don't like drenched food.

This time, most of my bags were packed by a 'DL'. When I first started with RodentPro, I seemed to get his/her bags all the time and I was happy. Alas, I haven't seen any bags packed this well in a year or so. I am pretty small-time ($100/ month or so), but I was going to try to ask for DL's bags next time....

My size does vary a bit, too. Sometimes 'medium' rats are interchangeable with their 'smalls' or 'larges' with 'mediums', but my main peeve is their packing (except for DL - he/she is a stud/ette.

btw, Rick - fed my first live chicken yesterday. It was fun :).

I've had nothing but good experiences with ordering from them. I've ordered 3 times and about 1500 mice and rats with no issues. When you order big, I calculated a $275.00 order if bought from the local shops here in town would have cost me a little over $1800.00.

The comparison that crotalusadamanteus has shown between Rodent Pro and the competitor is pretty obvious.

From what I know, Rodent Pro doesn't produce much or any of their rodent supply, but are using local breeders from their area. To some, that may draw a red flag, as quality control may not be as closely watched. Places like Big Cheese DO produce all of their product, so for others, that may mean more.

My last big order of mice and rats was from them and I was extremely satisfied compared to the other place I was getting them from.

They did a custom order for me, when usually they do have a set amount per bag. But I told them what I needed and they emailed back saying everything would work out! Their customer service was great. I will be ordering from them again.

Everything came in as I had ordered, packed perfectly. Not just tossed in the bag, everything was in a perfect line, excluding the mice pinkies :)

And the dry ice was especially fun to play with :yesnod:

I was going to mention this earlier, which actually holds more weight then some folks care to factor.
I personally dont care for prey thats raised on Old Roy puppy chow :ack2:

Quality is where you find it ;)

I've split an order with another herper and my mice came in looking as expected. I'll be ordering from them again.

Love Rodent Pro! I've received two separate shipments from Rodent Pro and am quite pleased with them. The first time I purchased from them online, I accidentally clicked the back button after sending payment and was charged twice. Without knowing I had been charged double, Rodent Pro called me up 9 am the very next morning to notify me of the mistake and letting me know they had already credited back the hundred something dollars to my credit card. (The man I spoke to on the phone was extremely nice and wanted to know how the mistake happened so they could prevent it from happening again.) ;-) Rodent Pro is an "honest" company with quality feeders. I highly recommend them.

See, I have yet to experience anything coming from Rodent Pro looking like this. They've always just been haphazardly stuffed into the bag with freezer burned extremities, just like the example I gave above.

That other pic I posted has been in the freezer since my last Big Cheese order, 6 months ago, and they still aren't as burned as the ones I just got from RP. No comparison in my experience.

mine have never looked that neat, but they've never been bad either.
There's not a lot of choices for things like rabbits, so that kind of factors into my decision, but they've always been fine for me.
