In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Why would somebody...?

I'd accept an apology for sure; not gonna lose sleep
over it or hold my breath.. El o el. I would like to especially thank the magic moderator that removed her posts from my thread; that is really appreciated as well!! I ain't nobody special; I accept this; but the righteousness of some make me laugh til the tummy aches..

Oh, I actaully removed the posts from your ad. Not anybody else. I complimented your snake but you decided to ignore it. I'm not sure why you have such an issue with me but I guess that doesn't need to be discussed here.
But I don't understand why some claim to be adults but can't do anything but nit pick and say things to put others down. I never put anybody down here, I asked an innocent question that wasn't even directed at you! But somebody decided to take it that way and look at where it has gotten everybody.

You just made my 'do not do business with' list. While I think it is important to do what your parents say if you are a minor (are you a minor?), if I am dealing with a buyer or seller and something comes up wrong, I do not want to have to worry that the transaction will not be decided by common sense or fair play, but by their mother.

So just because I am underage I can't buy a snake from you? Is that it? And before you go assuming again, my family was going through an incredibly hard time when a family member fell ill and I was not able to keep my snake. That is why. If it was for any other reason then I could have taken it back... but I guess family emergencies don't count as a real ordeal?

I think you are making a good choice here, apologizing and starting over.

Apology totally accepted Mag; no sweat... I didn't respond to those two post's for a reason; I'm glad somebody/you removed them because that type of stuff is disrespectful imo; but not uncommon with newbies. Be good out there Maggie; it's a big nasty world; and here in Az; it get's hot, 120 degrees hot; attitude's ain't so sweet here in the summer's I've found!! lol.. Like I have had to mention numerous times with an attitude and without; I do snakes for me and my "sickness" with them and for no other reason; I never conform to "market" prices and never will!! I mean that as gently as possible. Buying snake's is very similar to purchasing a used car; there is a reason for everything; and my stuff is generally overpriced cuz it will be a turnkey unit unless stated otherwise.. Thanks for stepping up to the plate and apologizing; that goes a few blocks with me...

I AM sorry to everybody on this current thread. I apologize to Tom if you think that I am saying anything negative about your snakes (i never have) and I am sorry if you think that this was focused on you (it wasn't).
I think that if we could just end it here that would be greatly appreciated. I am not a bad person and animals are my passion. I love owning and caring for them but I guess many of you don't think I am a "fit" owner. Once again I apologize and I would like to honestly just start over and forget the past... If any of you are willing to do so please let me know. I would like to show you that I am not what many make me out to be.
Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Thank you very much Tom... I am very happy right now because it seems as if we can get over this together, if I may. Don't get me wrong, your snakes are GOREGOUS but I guess the pastel may be just a tad out of my price range for now, hahaha! I hope that you can start to see me as a "better" person now. You were kind to me before and I turned into a witch and then you gave me a taste of my own medicine. I am glad to see that you have also accepted my apology also! I really want to turn over a new leaf and just run over the past with a garbage truck! :) Thanks again Tom!

It takes a lot to admit you are wrong Maggie, that shows a lot about your character.

Just so its clear I never informed any one of this thread.

Also the guy that bought your snake is a great guy and understanding but anyone will be upset when lied to. Whether knowingly or not on your side. Its no ones fault when either party does not know how to sex a snake and has to just take someone elses word for it. Looks like it happened to you and in return him. I taught him how to pop so that this would not happen to him again. Before I learned to sex my own snakes I took them to someone that did before I would make a purchase.

I think you made Lucille's list because you are under age, or you have to have your parents permission. I always make sure under age buyers get the okay from their parental figures beforehand. Some people won't sell to under age buyers no matter what. Its something I've been highly considering because it saves a lot of time and hassle.

Thank you for that also! What you said was very nice. I am glad that you understand.
But yes, the guy I bought the snake from originally claimed that it was a female and I took his work for it. I then later called him and he said he had absolutely no more snakes avail. I will need to learn how to sex snakes I guess when I get more in the future.
And I have NEVER gotten a snake without my parents permission. I am just so in love with animals but overall reptiles but they don't share the same interest (yeah, thats a good word) as I do. I think reptiles are amazingly beautiful, especially snakes. But thank you again for the nice comment, I am a really good person but bad things happen and mistakes are made but I am very happy that you and Tom have been able to forgive me and be understanding! Thanks again!

my opinions:

About pricing.. the "current market" being low.. if people don't start raising their prices.. how will this market ever rise??? I think it is NEEDED for a good quality animal to be priced as such.

My first morph was a pastel .. I saw a lot of cheap ones, but saved up and bought one that was nearly twice the going rate (at that time) from a reputable breeder.. guess what.. that expensive pastel is nicer looking then most pastels to this day.. and it passes to their offspring.

As someone else already said.. a great pastel is worth its weight in gold.. because you CAN get yourself a cheap pastel.. that is crap brown.. that when put with other morphs will lighten them a little.. OR you can get a great one that will make them BRIGHT!

So yes, it DOES come back to a mix of.. people can charge what they want, and quality SHOULD cost more..

But I disagree that the low market should mean that sellers have to low ball themselves..

In regards to Tom being called out.. No, you never called him out by name, but if you go back and read your original posts, it seemed VERY clear (at least to me and many others) that you had a very specific snake in mind.. From a very specific seller.. not a general question.. because when someone gave their opinion on the pricing, you came back with things like this : "He sells all his snakes at extremely high prices..." and describing a specific snake like "she is a very beautiful pastel with *some* blushing."... This makes it clear you had something specific in mind..

And yes I see you apologized.. this is good to see :D

Lastly, the age.. do not take offense, but realize that MANY people will NOT sell to someone who is under aged, unless they work directly as a parent.. This is common practice everywhere, not with just private sellers.. go try to buy a gecko at petco.. gotta be 18 or older.. or have a parent/legal guardian there.. Remember that if SOMETHING goes wrong, the legal adult is the one that would bear the legal responsibility.. so MOST sellers will NOT sell to someone under aged..

again.. my opinions..

Thank you for yoru feedback. I guess many have the same opinion when it comes to quality and I am actually going to agree with you. The nicer the pastel or mojave or bumblebee, the higher the price... I currently have a breeding pair of leopard geckos and I bought them because they are nice looking... I am very picky about the way my animals look. My male sunglow is extremely bright and my female has great yellow and orange color! And I completely understand the selective breeding (which is why I am attracted to the brighter more yellow sunglows)!
But thank you again for your opinion! I am looking for feedback and your post is one of many good ones! :yesnod:
