Beware...I purchased a what I was told a purple alb. female retic, they sent me a lav. alb. retic, contacted sellers and sent the retic back, they received retic but have yet to refund my hard earned cash, they are located in San Antonio Tx

Have they received the snake back? How long has it been still they received it back? What was the agreement of the return? Why didnt they just send the correct snake? Did they admit fault??

I have to have a purple, I got a male hatching next month

I'm curious about this part - I have been out of retics for several years, but it used to be said that albino retics would produce whites, lavenders, and purples...and that they didn't breed true. Has that changed? If you just wanted a purple because you like purples, I understand not keeping the lavender; but your previous messages indicated that you were very happy with the snake, and willing to work on a solution with the seller. I guess I'm not sure how you went from there, to shipping the snake back.

I was very happy with the snake until I was informed it was not a purple. The snake was advertised as a purple and it wasn't. We talked on the phone about the solution after I sent the email which sounded like he already knew it wasn't a purple and was advertising it as one. His excuse was he sent the wrong snakes to the buyers, but the only two snakes he had advertised were a white phase and a purple, so where did the lav. come from I asked, no answer so then I said I'd send it back and get a refund and he said ok, but still no cash...will not answer the phone,,,,786-350-8052 786-360-9906

I have paid a reputable retic breeder in advance for a purple male or female, he has a clutch incubating, they have hatched as of now and I'm waiting on pics to choose one. Whether I get a male or female depends on what I get to pair him or her with. I'm looking at a lav.alb.male tiger, so then I would choose a female and I'm looking at a 100% het alb. tiger female, so I would then choose a male, I'm pretty sure he has both sexes available,,,,,

The above is what I am questioning.

You state on 04/05/11 at 5:45 PM that you got the snake and it looks very good and healthy yet on 4/6 at 3:24 PM that's when you notify the seller that the snake isn't a purple.

How did you not notice the snake not being a purple on the 5th??????
Why report the issue the next day, almost 24 hours later, and not when you had the animal out upon receipt?????

The difference between a purple and lavender even in bad lighting, at leas to me, are very noticeable usually.

as I stated, I was very happy until.... that was my 1st retic and hell I didn't know, I never received my owners manual on purple retics, so someone with knowledge informed me, that simple folks......

I can understand being upset because you didn't get what you paid for, of course.

However, as far as I can remember it doesn't matter whether it's a white, purple, or a lavender retic, don't they all produce the same offspring? Sorry If I am wrong on this...

But like I said, you didn't get what you paid for and thats all that really matters anyway.......you sent the retic back, he says he got it.....seems he has had enough time to repay you.

Even if it produces the same offspring the OP didn't get what he paid for. Then they don't refund his money after he ships the snake back! I really hope you either get the snake you originally wanted or they refund your money so you can get what you want.
