Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Once again, your are the man. Josh and I will be going to the police Monday the 6th. I will post what is said after we talk to them. Josh is trying to talk me into flying out there...but not sure about that. Don't feel like spending time in a Detoit jail lol :rofl:. Will update as soon as I get more info tomorrow.

Those accounts look like a match....accordingly, I just banned the c4942469 (since his redtail48603 account is banned, there's no sense letting him under that name).
 
Just noticed that with that account, too, when he got outed he had a total meltdown with the obvious intent of getting banned (that one was a one month). He logged in under the old account as recently as late April (which was after he started using the new one), so banning that old account is further justified.
 
I read thru the whole thread. Sorry for your loses. Martin, you should be condoned for your action's. Out of the kindness of your heart trying to make a little girls life just a little better. I hope everything work's out, to further spit in a wound and send back the box has got to be one of the worse feelings. God... such a horrible situation

After speaking with a officer today, his real name is Chris Reardon with his mothers name Mary Taylor. The address is correct also. He is making a name for himself, he has been scamming reptiles for some time, complaints go as far as 09. Beardies and boa's plus has some new complaints of selling stolen items on eBay.

The Police department filled a complaint at the Saginaw police department, not 100% sure what's going to happen from here. Was advised to file a civil suite against him. I will start that process this week.

The police were very limited on giving any specifics but did say the name Chris Reardon has had a lot of activity. looks like someone has chosen his carrer.

I'm sure my daughter and I will never see our boa's again but to see him brought to justice would be great. Not sure suing him would do any good, unless I want stolen items....

I'm new here, but I effing hate scumbags, so thought I'd share some wisdom -

I'm sorry if I missed something, but are you in the same state? If yes, this would be easier, but regardless, have you considered small claims court? If you're unable to travel the mere threat might resolve the situation, but if you can travel and bring him to court you could easily show a preponderance of evidence that he owes you money, and likely demonstrate there's enough evidence of a scam (criminal offense) to indite him. The threat of criminal charges should be enough to make this scumbag true up. The judge would likely give him a period of time (30-120 days situation depending) to pay restitution, and if he bailed you could likely (depending on your state laws) file criminal charges and have him arrested.

It would cost you a few bucks to file the claim, but he'd be liable for your court fees if you won the judgment, which, as I said, you likely would.

Closer to 40 hours, already looked into it. Not 100% sure what I'm going to do but I need to be level headed. If I go to MI now as mad as I am I would probally end up in jail and no better then the dirt bag who started this.

I'm looking into the civil courts now, not sure if I have to file in MI or Ca. Police said the crime was comitted in my area so hopefully I don't have to travel.

My daughter asks every day if we are getting our boa's back, If it wasnt for my family I would have already handled this, trust me I want pay back but I can't run around acting like a hit man :shootfoot

Hopefully time will bring Chris Reardon out and I will get to meet him, justice would taste soooo sweet ;)
 
You'd likely have to file in MI. He posted the ads, received your goods, and sent you fake goods while in Michigan. What carrier did he/you use? If it's USPS you could file mail fraud charges, but I've heard about lot's of folks trying this and can't think of one that succeeded. If you sent via a private carrier I believe it's more complicated.

Read through that link above. See if there's anything you can do remotely.

California could be "funny" and tell you that you have to go to Michigan in order to file a suit. However, this is not so (~if~ this is told to you). You can (or should be able to) file a suit, local to you, and it would be up to Chris to make it there. If he does not go, he could get a default judgment against him (where you win).
If a Default Judgment is given (or you receive a different judgment in your favor), you have to, then, contact Chris's local court and file (with a filing fee) for them to accept a foreign judgment ... where they can/will, then, enforce the judgment, that was given in California, if they accept it.
