Nice Tom! What do you have in there?

This is seven shots at some flourescent NERD Line Caramels.. Het x Het and last year were nine possible's and no vizzy's.. Shoulda never sold the ones I had!! I just want a screamer male for my "other" females.. I think these are two possible's I'm lookin' at here? I'm pretending I'm not in this predicament.. El oh well.. Lol..

Can't wait to see that you got enough visuals to make up for the last clutch!!!

Thank you very much for the well wishes on this one.. I need em; so far; nobody's popped heads out; top two are possible's; of course! Thanks again everybody; I will update thread as it unfolds..

I ruined it!!!

Well; not really; got two sweet young possible's outta this. No vizzy's; and I am not happy bout that! Have scrapped the parents and ever pairing them again. 7 eggs; 5 killed by me's; and 2 awesome normals (male's).... lol.. If you are gonna attempt maternal inc.; please: leave em alone!! Lesson 1 and only!! Thank you. Here are the only pics that were worth anything. Boring I might mention; but, oh well.. :shootfoot

Ahh. Yeah. Moms will continue coiling them (sometimes very tightly) them until they start to pip on their own. If you cut, then the egg loses its integrity and can't protect the embryo against outside influence. Moms will usually loosen their coils when they start feeling the eggs pip. At least, that's how it has happened with the clutches I've had so far. Sorry you had some losses in this clutch. :( I hope the next one is more successful.

Thank you much Tempest.. Minor learning curve; shoulda yanked the cut eggs and set in an incubator.. Bummer; learned a little late on that one; and yes; they do loosen there at the end.. lol.

Actually, my guess at the deaths is because you cut them far, far too early. Maternal incubation means they're incubating at lower temperatures, which means they'll take longer to develop. I think day 50 is too early at 89 degrees, let alone maternal incubation (which, I'm guessing, was probably much lower than 89 degrees).

EDIT: I also bet that the snakes in the first pic aren't necessarily Caramels. At two weeks before pipping, their colors aren't fully developed yet.
