In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Hey guys so I have been wanting to get into breeding ball pythons but the dive into this is a bit scary (as it is for everybody) but, i was wanting to hear from all of you about what morphs you would be interested in. I will give you the list of morphs that I may consider purchasing and if you can give me offspring from the pairs you would be interested in then you would be helping me out SO much! Thanks guys! Hope you are all having a fantastic summer! :)

HERE'S MY LIST:[/SIZE]

1. fire
2. spider
3. yellow belly
4. lemon pastel
5. pinstripe
6. enchi
7. cinnamon
8. vanilla

Your list doesn't match the poll....

and the poll only allows one option to be selected.

I know... I have 2 things going, you can pick which morph you like out of the poll and then list favorite offspring and what you would be interested in from my list provided in the thread.

Do you have any? :)

The "..." is not in any way meant to be taken as a rude or mean thing, I am just leading into another point. I hope you don't take it the wrong way! :(

Not exactly...(since you asked)
Enchis - it depends entirely on the enchi...hit the right combination of color and pattern, and you've got a winner. Otherwise - meh.
Pastels - like enchis, you've got to hit the combination of color and pattern. Miss on color, and it's less appealing than a nice normal.
I like some mojaves...but there are relatively few mojave combos I like.
I don't like piebalds, but I like mojave piebalds.
I don't like pinstripes, but I like (good) pastel pinstripes (lemonblasts)...again, its a color and pattern thing, win or lose.
I like high white spiders...as long as they don't have spots; but bees are a whole lot better (well, good ones are...I've been seeing more and more bees that I'd pass on for a nice spider :ack2: )
Cinnamons - yuck
Fires, yellowbellies, and vanillas - by themselves, why bother. Some combos are pretty nice, but not enough to make it worth (me) owning them.

As far as what I would be interested in from the list...it depends entirely on the individual animal. I'm not looking for any of those things, but if I see one that I want, I'd pursue it.

Thanks for the input! I LOVE hearing others opinions about morphs!

And my goal is to try to breed quality animals! The one thing I can't stand is the lack of "nice" pastels... I hate the browning and then when they get big enough you cant tell if you are buying a normal or a pastel. I am with you on the spiders, I like high white. What combos do you enjoy from vanilla, fire, and yb's?

I like spiders and fires when talking about base morphs. You can do so much with them and they're gorgeous themselves. Enchi is also good but I sadly do not own one.. yet. :)

Cinnamons - yuck

I can picture harald wearing a shirt that said that...

I can partly agree, i seen a lot of ugly cinnys- but find a looker, and they are amazing! Bu t alot look like normals.

I have yet to see a reg enchi that I like. I seen a lesser enchi- and bam, got my interest.

I like mojos, and i am a sucker for blushed out pastels.

when talking about single morphs to use to make projects, i think spiders are amongst the tops ( of your list)... yb's being a more uder-rated one....

the morph i;'d like to work with- champagnes-but dont have anywhere near the funds. phantoms and clowns I like as well...

I very much prefer black pastels to cinnamons...but the percentage that I like is still pretty small. Since I happen to have in my possession one of the best looking black pastels I have seen, I'm okay with not liking most of the other ones :D.

I've been tossing around the idea of picking up a lesser, or butter, pastel for a specific female...but, between my pattern and color requirements, I probably won't find one that would suit me. Between the low quality of most of the pastels I've seen in that combination, and their tendency to be spotted messes, acceptable ones don't show up often. I'll probably put that on my list of things to try to make...it's just that buying one would mean not wasting my lesser girl on that endeavor (I think I've got the perfect pastel for the job, it's just that there are too many other things I want to do with my lesser).

Are lemon pastels different from just reg. pastels? There is a breeder out near me that has GOREGOUS lemon pastels, one female is 500+ grams and ABSOLUTELY NO BROWNING! Love it! Here is the link:

LEMON PASTEL: http://www.ddreptiles.com/reptiles-for-sale/female-lemon-pastel-ball-python-2/

I am definitely going to be purchasing from him, I mean I look at his animals and I drool. And he told me that lemon pastel babies this year will only be 50-150 dollars! and he said he couldnt see his price for them going up. So I think I may be hooked?
What do you think?

I think yb comnos are GREAT! I was thinking of doing a firefly but then adding the yellow belly gene into the mix. Would it work?

I'm glad he responded back to you. I inquired about that girl and got no response. Same goes for a lesser and pin from him. Oh well. But I've seen better than that girl. That's just my opinion though.

I think YB combos are great as well.... I have ybs and wanted to go for ivories, but white snakes have their limits- plus lucy's are better for the white snake. I want a pastel YB, a spider belly, and would like to see what a cinny belly would look like....

The thing with the lines of pastels- a pastel is a pastel is a pastel. The lines of them, such as lemons, are only held true if they are bred with the intentions of the founder's intentions were- lemons tend to have th ehigh contrast bright yellows, where as the graz lines have the blushings ( at least from info i had I read) When looking to buy a pastel, don't pick according to so called lines, such as lemon, blonde, bell, graz... ect.... pick one that you really like. I seen pretty lemons- like the one that was linked, and butt ugly lemons.

Pastels when babies can be hard to pick one that will be a nice adult I think ( i know the things to look for). I bought a few, loved them as babies, but when they grew, didnt stay as nice. Not all my pastels are ugly, but my nicest pastel is my bell line super...lol. I seen some adult gorgeous pastels, I wish i had the money to buy one!

Unfortunatly, pastels are a great example of what can happen when you don't selectively bred your pair for pastels- its a shame, because I love them!

And me and harald are opposites... black pastels just dont seem as nice as a very nice cinny. Tho harald does have a very nice one.

I could go on and on about the albinos, I am hoping to add one to my collection soon...

Well, I emailed him and didn't get a response... so I decided to call, left a message and he returned it within about 30 minutes. I know that there are better ones out there but I think that his lemon pastels are goregous that he had up on his website! :)
Is there a difference between a lemon pastel and a "normal" pastel? Cuz I really like how his lemon pastels don't show any sign of browning.

I agree about the pastels... If I am going to EVER breed pastel to pastel or a pastel to another morph then they will have little to no browning on them, I don't like the browned out pastels. And I don't quite understand the black pastel morph. I guess I like the brighter, and more patterned morphs. I would like to add an albino! But heck, I might get a couple het pairs (pied, clown, albino)at my next reptile expo! :)
