• In the past two days I have gotten emails asking about being requested to provide credit card info in order to register and also to make a post in the classifieds forums. PLEASE NOTE: In no instance will this site ask you for this sort of information. The only time any request for payment is made is if you choose to opt-in for a higher membership level, and that is done SOLELY through PayPal. Anything else is coming from a source other than this site. My guess is that this is coming through Google Adsense, but when I can get someone to send me a screen shot of this sort of request, I will know more.

    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

I tried doing business with Broderick Vanwynn. it didn't go thru though since i backed out smelling something odd with the whole thing. i didn't lose money since it just sat unclaimed in paypal and i killed the transaction. he said he didn't get the money and wasn't seeing it. and in paypal it showed the email addy he gave me. i even let it sit unclaimed while he was supposedly looking at his paypal account before i yanked it the second time around. i gave up. not sure what to think at this point whether he's good or not. anyone else tried doing business with this guy? his paypal account shows up as personal. not sure if that means anything or not.
 
No NO!! lol I was not taking it that way lol I was laughing because of the whole introduction, on page 18. This whole story is weird, I think the "almost" OP here, made a very wise decision.

Don't know this guy, not saying that he is bad or good,money sitting unclaimed in a paypal acct has almost always been sent to a wrong email address. normally 1 letter or 1 number is wrong.it happens frequently.:)
 
I think Mark dodged a bullet, personally. Good for you for listening to your instincts on this one, Mark.

Anyone know if something like this might happen if Paypal freezes an account?
 
I thank goodness have never had to stop a payment, or deal with a scammer, so I have no clue how PayPal acts when an account is frozen or suspended.
I guess if OP can double and triple check the PayPal address given to make sure the entire address was correct, it might help.
