    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

So I assume you purchased the animal from him through his Kingsnake ad?

File a complaint with kingsnake to get his account shut down. They will not shut his account down unless someone who was specifically scammed by him (via answering an ad he posted through their site) files the actual complaint. They will not accept complaints by people that did not actually do business with him through their site.

Hmmm Okay, I'll contact Kingsnake. I won't be able to make it to drive to VA, but the Commander of my last unit got stationed in VA...I'll ask him how far away it is and let him and a few of his soldiers go knock on his door if he's close enough. (Note that it isn't a threat, it's him acting in my stead to communicate that the money must be returned.)

A side note...if we really want this guy off the market, all the people who have gotten/are currently being scammed (that we can get a hold of) can chip in together for one lawyer and file against him in a small claims court (as long as the total of all we ever got stolen is valued at less than $5k). I'll chip in a good amount if others are willing to do this. If I did it alone, the price to take him to court and the attorney fees would be equal to or over the amount I sent him...and I'd love to do it for the sake of justice, but I'm a full time college student going through a separation. So if anyone is willing to help provide a case against him and wants to work on this, I'll throw down money and time to see the law shut him down.

Actually, bravado like this really shouldn't be thrown around lightly... lots of things could be viewed as threats of physical violence or pre-meditated violence...

Lightly? Who said I was making light of it? That was a serious statement. Im so sick and tired of people using reptiles and the reptile comunity to make a quick buck. No physical threats, but to speak to him face to face and see what the whole reptile copmmunity can really do to his reputation might make him stop.

i think if others would file theft reports with the local PD and report to his local animal control office....if a bunch of people called in, the police will step in, im guessing....but i bet theres a city ordinances about dangerous animals in city limits....if we could find the right officers to talk to, he can be brought up on charges.......

Praetori say you have a reptile business, theft from any business in a crime and the police will do more about it then saying it was a personal deal...

I understand how people may misinterpret the situation along with my posse comment, but no physical threats were made. People are fed up with this guy's antics and now they are going to confront him about it...which I hope will solve "this" problem.
 
Yeah, hasn't someone already showed up at his door, in a non-violent position, to get snakes back? No doubt I'd be down for some peaceful repossession.

yes...i had a police officer show up...lol and this worked to get my boas back, but didnt change his overall view of scamming/stealing from people... Praetori needs to report this so he can be brought up on charges, im looking into seeing if we can get him on federal changes becuase he is going this in many different states...now thats jail time if we can all work together on this...
 
I haven't dealt with him other than through e-mails that i still have but if I can be of any help with anything im down for it... I hate people who scam other people.. or take advantage of someone else...
 
I hope you guy get him , he belongs in jail . I cant believe this has gone on for this amount of time and he has'nt seen any repercussion's .

Update on the theft-
I filed my complaint with: USPS Fraud Complaint, Better Business Bureau, Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3), Kingsnake.com and National Fraud Information Center

Now here's where things get a little tricky. I got a call from the USPS saying that if I pay to go down to Virginia and testify in court, he can get arrested and be forced to pay me the money back. I really want to see this man get his theft put down on record and have some of our justice system served on him. Problem is I live in Ohio and go to college full-time. I really really want to go against him in court though.

David-I tried calling you but I think I have your number written down wrong, can you send it to me again?

I'm gonna pull my resources and try to find any contacts I have in the area who can help me make this possible. If anyone is living in that area and knows of a cheap place to stay for a night or two, it'd be very helpful for me. Also any advise or other info would be great. Once I know if it's going to happen or not, I will probably gather evidence from other people and see what else I can use to ensure his arrest. (Any lawyers that may be willing to donate advise would be great too, but I understand that it usually requires payment and that there is no dire reason why I shouldn't have to pay for advise.)

Often times you can contact attorneys who will give you a free consultation. I am in southeatern VA so I don't know of any cheap places or of attorneys in the Woodbridge Area. I found an old posting I think is from him on CL here locally and e-mailed him asking for his phone number to discuss possibly shipping or meeting. If he gives me his number (and it is his posting) I will send it to you.
 
OK, I'm in northern VA (close to Woodbridge) and my husband is an attorney. Let me check with him; maybe, if you could find a way to get here, we could put you up at our house and he could find someone to represent you pro bono. Unfortunately, he can't do it himself since he's only licensed in Maryland. I'll PM you after I get more information.
 
Hooray for Lynn! Hopefully this all comes to some conclusion... too many scam artist/sketchy people out there. Hopefully we can get this guy out of our way and deal with legit people.
