Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I'm sorry, though not surprised, that the snake was in awful condition Dylan. Hopefully it will make a recovery.
At this point, I would just strongly urge that you do not lay down as far as this issue is concerned just because you got your(???) snake back. Plenty of people have given advice as to who you can contact to file the appropriate complaints. I understand you're only 15, but you would really be doing yourself a great deed if you step up and follow the proper avenues. Even if nothing comes of it, this guy needs a good cage rattling at the very least.

That poor poor snake. Thank God you got her back! Hopefully she'll recover for you and be back to looking like she did before her encounter with Mark, Billy Bob, whatever his name is. Those pics are tough to look at. I imagine she looks even worse in person

I'm just going to chime in here with my 2 cents, no one else has stated their opinion to be quite like mine.
Dylan, I read the whole thing, all 30+ pages, I feel bad for you. But all the flags and warnings were there. I really hope for the best with you and your snake, but my beef is with your parents. How are you doing all this and you are either trying not to get them involved(which would've been my personal choice at your age,) or they seem to not care, because there is more than enough evidence to implicate this guy on 2 state levels and a federal level multiple times over. This guy is **** *** ****** *****. And personally I would be filing charges whether you got the snake back or not, and I would've done it a long time ago. I'm glad to hear you got it back, and it's horrible how some people can treat these animals like this.
But my curiosity tingles me a bit. If all this has happened, and your parents have this little involvement then, no offense, you shouldn't have a retic. anyway. By the time you graduate that snake will be 12+ feet long. That's not a snake that can be tackled alone, you really need other people willing to help with seemingly easy and everyday things, like feeding, cage cleaning (by 12ft you should have a 3x4x6 cage at least, which will be hard to provide in your parents house, or your first for that matter,) and just general health checking and handlings to keep them tame.
IMO you should've never gotten a retic, I'm not bashing you, I'm almost 21 and had to remind myself how much care those snakes take when I saw a green anaconda for sale at That Pet Place (very huge store, many herps you wouldn't expect, like the anaconda.) And then to see the price tag of 170$ looking so affordable, so easy for just anyone to own. "Maybe if I buy it, at least it will go to someone who knows how to properly care for it." I'm also by no means an expert, but I do know proper husbandry for such snakes. Personally I think you(along with someone who knows a lot about your particular python, an adult too) should find someone who you can be assured will take excellent care of the snake, and go home and downsize a good bit.
Nonetheless, I hope your snake makes it, she's beautiful. But next time maybe you should start out with something a bit smaller. I'll be posting my welcome soon you can see what I chose to start out with, I'll be posting pictures of pretty much everything. Mind you I didn't got bot of my snakes after I turned 18( stupid moms afraid of snakes )

I go rogue and hunt him down myself and ship him in a tiny box halfway across the country for 3 days, then I'd unleash some vigilante justice on him cowboy style. if i can help at all im 20 min away from him and my brother is down the street from him. i have multiple resources in that state my father is a local cop to adjacent town and uncle is state police and another one of my bros is state police as well and the troop in his area. if u need any documents or legal info i can help or turn u to someone who can. do not let this clown get away with this.william brian whatever u call ur self ur in alot of trouble on multiple levels. I agree with many people.. You really need to report him. This snake NEVER deserved to be treated like this.
How long has he had your snake? And is it so wrinkly because he hasn't been feeding it?! God if the box he shipped it in was in that condition I wonder what he was housing her in. He probably had her in a 10 gallon tank or if she is lucky, a 20 long. I can't believe this guy, I seriously wish I could do something about it. And I also think others are frustrated because there were MANY red flags and you probably should have called off the deal especially since he was being so shady. BUT I am too getting frustrated because you still haven't done anything about it and every single day you neglect to report him or file a claim he thinks he is getting away with it and probably doing it to somebody else.
I want you to know I am not saying any of this stuff to sound mean or anything but you need to do something. You NEED to get your parents involved because you are a minor and can't really do much in all reality. I truly hope things work out for you and I hope your snake gets better soon. I am glad it is just dehydration and being skinny because god knows what she could have gotten while in the hands of this dumb***! Ugh he makes me want to beat something with a metal bat!!!

male bumble bee 500-600 grams
female pastel 800-900 grams
female spider 400-500 grams
female lesser about 500 grams
male albino about 800 grams
I also have a clutch of albino spiders and het for albino spiders and a young pair of blue aru green tree pythons.
Let me know which ones you were intersted in. Some of them are higher end morphs so I would need some cash to cover the difference. Some I would just straight up trade. Although, I think I should mention that I am located in Miami,Fl and this trade would require that we both ship. I stopped hearing from William when someone on the thread mentioned that they knew him personally and confirmed where he lived. I imagine he then got scared and agreed to give the snake back to Dylan.
I did a search on facebook with William Anthony's aka Mark Jones' email address, [email protected], and found his profile. This was the first picture posted of William Anthony on this thread. On his profile there were also two young boys, which I'm guessing are his kids, probably named Tim around age 8 and Ben around age 2. I'm making this assumption because of his email address.
It's funny how the craigslist ad stated he wanted $250 for his "MALE" snake, but he then wanted $1,000 in trade value for his "GIRL". OMG! Are there hermaphrodite snakes?!
Honestly, I went along with it because I was trying to get Dylan's snake. I knew what the snakes I was supposedly trading were worth, but decided to down play how much I actually knew.
For the record, I do not know anyone in Mansfield, MA. I made it up thinking someone could meet him locally and get the snake. While thinking it through, I realized this guy was probably going to ask to meet in a public place. Then he would wait to see who was there to trade with him all the while hiding behind his tinted windows. If he saw anyone who he even thought looked like someone from law enforcement or without snakes in their hands he probably would have left as if he was never there.
Everyone on this thread may have an opinion on this situation. I, like many others, tried to see what I could do to help Dylan. This is why although some may not agree with what I was trying to do, I do not regret it. It would have been great though to get a healthy snake sent back to its owner and have a thief asking when I'm completing my side of the "trade". I'm just glad Dylan got his snake back. Not in the conditions we all hoped, but he got her back nonetheless. It is amazing what the people on this forum have accomplished.

In ball pythons I have:
male bumble bee 500-600 grams
female pastel 800-900 grams
female spider 400-500 grams
female lesser about 500 grams
male albino about 800 grams
I also have a clutch of albino spiders and het for albino spiders and a young pair of blue aru green tree pythons.
Let me know which ones you were intersted in. Some of them are higher end morphs so I would need some cash to cover the difference. Some I would just straight up trade. Although, I think I should mention that I am located in Miami,Fl and this trade would require that we both ship. I don't know if you're fammiliar with shipping snakes, but it's really not that hard I can walk you through it. Let me know if this is something that would interest you. Well, that doesn't seem very fair to me. How about the bumblebee and the spider female for your retic? Please let me know soon as I am working on another trade with someone and they might want the bumblebee. Also, I'd be willing to trade you the bumblebee with the pastel female... she'll be ready to go soon and you can make killerbees! Adult female pastels are probably just as pricey as your retic. From here on out we communicated through text messages. *Please note* My outbox on my phone was full and messages were lost, therefore my replies through text message might not be precisely word for word how they were written at the time. I tried to write them as accurately as I could from memory. I still have all of the messages he sent to me, they are written verbatim.

I stopped hearing from William when someone on the thread mentioned that they knew him personally and confirmed where he lived. I imagine he then got scared and agreed to give the snake back to Dylan.
I did a search on facebook with William Anthony's aka Mark Jones' email address, [email protected], and found his profile. This was the first picture posted of William Anthony on this thread. On his profile there were also two young boys, which I'm guessing are his kids, probably named Tim around age 8 and Ben around age 2. I'm making this assumption because of his email address.
It's funny how the craigslist ad stated he wanted $250 for his "MALE" snake, but he then wanted $1,000 in trade value for his "GIRL". OMG! Are there hermaphrodite snakes?!
Honestly, I went along with it because I was trying to get Dylan's snake. I knew what the snakes I was supposedly trading were worth, but decided to down play how much I actually knew. For the record, I do not know anyone in Mansfield, MA. I made it up thinking someone could meet him locally and get the snake. While thinking it through, I realized this guy was probably going to ask to meet in a public place. Then he would wait to see who was there to trade with him all the while hiding behind his tinted windows. If he saw anyone who he even thought looked like someone from law enforcement or without snakes in their hands he probably would have left as if he was never there.
Everyone on this thread may have an opinion on this situation. I, like many others, tried to see what I could do to help Dylan. This is why although some may not agree with what I was trying to do, I do not regret it. It would have been great though to get a healthy snake sent back to its owner and have a thief asking when I'm completing my side of the "trade". I would simply have replied "i never got ur snake bro!".

wow after everything that is just wrong. sending anything through 2 day shipping is risky enough but 3 days is just horrible. who knows where the snake has sat and for how long under what temps. i highly doubt there was anything there to regulate any kind of temp just in case.
you take care of everything possible, most importantly the health of your snake and you make sure your parents go after him for various items. mind you i don't know them all but, defrauding a minor, shipping an illegal animal through USPS, animal abuse for shipping it in any way other than next day shipping, and well, most of what the others say. like i said, i don't know everything that should be done but i know where he has crossed the line and those are the least of what he has done.
if he was taking sure good care of her, i highly doubt it what with all the snake that had supposedly died in his collection and how, then she should not look like that. from the pics right off i could see that she is dehydrated. very much just feed her smaller items so that they are easier to digest and help her get on her "feet" again.
everyone here wants to see you and your snake come to a great conclusion after everything you guys have gone through. quite frankly at this point it seems to me that you have no other choice but to get your parents and the law involved or just drop it altogether. although i doubt you will drop it.
stand by your convictions and print every page of this thread as part of your evidence.
