    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

First off let me start with my explanation. I've been into corn snakes since 1999 when I got my first Reverse Okeetee. Since then I've added about 80 total with my current hatchlings. I have some higher end morphs also such as Bloodreds, whiteouts, fires, etc. So I've had it up to here with Anthony Hosek now. I've been doing business with him for the last two years off and on on Cornsnakes.com, and on the side via phone call, text, or email. I've had four adult corns die on me within the last year that I got from him. I also bought a pair of silver queens and one turned out being a female after I asked him directly before I purchased them and he swore up and down that it was a male and female.

I also got a Blizzard from him that was supposed to be a male and ended up being a female. One day during feed, I found an egg next to the blizzard. Obviously not a male. He claims to have gotten various Herps from Richard Hueme, Rich Z, and other high end breeders. Another user on these forums and Cornsnakes.com had an adult snake from him die on them. When I notified him of my snakes that died from him each time, he said he would give me another adult to replace it or a pair. I told him I didn't want any adults from him because his always die on me and I would rather have my money back. He wouldn't issue me a refund and would refuse to every time I asked.

He is by far the worst so called "snake breeder" I've ever met. He was also selling Creamsicle Motleys last year as Amels on Cornsnakes.com rather than telling everyone they're Hybrids. I bought that Female off of him, which died this year while she was gravid. I've bought adults from Various Breeders and have never had any problems with any of their herps. SR snakes (emanon), Ignacio Sanchez (Juniors Serpents), and Stephen Wagner are all very professional and know what they're doing. I've gotten a few from each of their collections so far, and I've had no problems with any of their herps eating, shedding, etc.

Anthony Co Habs all of his snakes, which is the first rule of what not to do in the Cornsnake world. His snakes always go from feeding, to not feeding, then they start to loose weight, then regurging, passing their food unhealthily, etc., then they die off.

In the long run, avoid Anthony Hosek at all costs. I'm never doing business with him again.
 
Just as a heads up, people here are going to want emails and other proof. So dig out those PMs and emails, include the headers, and post away!
 
Anthony is a member here, although he has just 3 posts. I have emailed him about this thread.

Brian, besides the evidence thing (Which I hope will be forthcoming), why on Earth would you continue to do business with him if these accusations are true? I think it was 4 dead adults, 1 missexed pair, 1 missexed male, 1 mislabeled hybrid, no refunds, problem with his husbandry (cohabitation)......

How's it go....."fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice,...."
 
Does Anthony have a business name? I did a BOI search under his name and found nothing. Also, I'd like to hear more about times frames and his TOS, since he did offer replacements.
 
Shiari, like I said it was mostly through phone and text messaging. Why would I go on here and blast somebody out of nowhere if I wasn't telling the truth? Especially now that I classified myself as a So Cal Breeder. I'm trying to let the rest of you know so you won't have the same happen to you.

Laterob, that's a be rhetorical to say don't you think? Obviously I'm frustrated by him so far, so adding something like that doesn't help. Yes I got duped. How does the other saying go? "The only way to learn anything in life is the hard way?" The rest of the corns were alive until the last few months. If I had adults die on me, why would I want to get more from him after the other ones? Thus the reason I told him I just wanted a refund an no more snakes from him. Hatchlings or adults. I don't think he is buying them from registered breeders or from high known individuals; rather he is buying them from somewhere else (like craigslist or something similar) and re selling them on his behalf for more. For all I know, he could be doing that.

Lucillie, he doesn't have a business name. He only goes by Anthony Hosek. That's his user name on cornsnakes.com. His time frames as in how long his herps lived for? One of them lived a little over a year. The SilverQueen didn't even make it 6 months. The other one now, is showing extreme signs of weakness and eating off and on.
 
unfortunately because this is classified as a bad buy thread you bare the burden of proof that he is indeed a bad guy. if you just wanted to warn people and not have to offer any proof it could have been classified as an info page of your experience. without proof it seems as though you are only here to bash. any e-mails you can present with headers would help us see this from your point of view. even any text messages you have would help.

at this point i don't think anyone is doubting you, we would just like proof to support your claims.

What was the condition of these animals when you received them? I'm a little confused - it is the seller's fault the snake died after a year (or six months) in your care?

I agree. Could the deaths be husbandry issues?
I saw nothing negative over on the cornsnake forum when I did a search. I saw nothing negative on the BOI when I did a search.

I'm not making any judgments except to wonder that if this seller allegedly had bad stock time after time over a period of years, wouldn't someone take note?

If this buyer is indeed the first to come forward, I agree that more info is needed to support any claims.

Do you have any proof of any of this? Snakes dying 6 months or more after receipt, especially a pattern of deaths as you are alleging would more often be the fault of the current owner.

Again, the fact that they are living for that long points more to your husbandry. I am in no way saying that he gets a pass here. But if you thought that you could register and jump in with such accusations with no proof, it may not end up well for you. Try not to get an attitude at the questions that are bound to come up, and remember, that you started this and whatever you post is going to be here from now on.
 
Just for a little info. Last year I had done some deals with Anthony. I bought a fire corn snake from him that he had said was a female. Opon getting it home I let it settle in. during the feeding the next week I had decided to pop it and it turned out to be a male( my fault for not checking when I had picked up the snake). I gave him a call and said he would replace it. I told him it was okay because I loved the pattern of the snake and that I was still happy with the snake and to just becareful when he sold snakes to triple check the sex before putting them up for sale. Then a few weeks later I had ordered some mice for him from rodent pro and in exchange he was going to trade me and adult snake for the mice. So once I received the mice I went to his home to exchange the mice for a snake. He had his snakes cohabed in different sized small tanks. So I picked out a the snake that I wanted out of the ones he was offering me. after having the snake with me for a week and a half it was time to feed my snakes. Every snake ate except the male silverqueen I had gotten from him. I texted him about it and he said it was eating fine and that it was most likey stress out. so I gave it two more weeks to feeding it agian just changing water every three days as I do with all my snakes. It finally came to feeding my snakes agian so I opened the snakes tub and to my surprise it was dead. I told Anthony about it and he just shrugged it of as my fault in care. So Instead of getting in a argument with him over it I had just left it at that. Ive been breeding and keeping snakes for along time and thats the only snake I have ever had die on me. After dealing with a snake from him never eating in my possesion and just dying like that I decided that I would not do business with him agian. I'm not putting this up to bash him in anyway. I just put this up here to let people know that Brian is not the only one that has had a bad experience with him. Since my fire is still doing well to this day IMHO I feel that if you do get snakes from Anthony to get babies and not adults. Thanks for your time.

Well, that is SOME info, but still nothing concrete. On the other hand, I noticed the OP just joined here 3 days ago, and he already has a friend on his profile, you. Now that in itself proves nothing, but you are going to have to come up with something concrete here. that is just the way it works. Just out of curiosity, How old are you and the OP? And can you give me an approximate age on Anthony?
 
Im 26 I dont see what that has to do with anything I didn't start this thread Im just adding the information that I have seen I'am not saying to not do business with Anthony at all I just explained what happened to me with him. Anthony and brian are both in there early 20's. This thread is between Brian and Anthony I just wanted to let the board know that He is not the only one that has a snake died from his collection. If I had my old phone I would put up the text messages that I had conversations with Anthony but I dont( thanks to my son throwing it in the toilet).
 
Scooby, Let me see if I've got this straight. You've been doing business with Anthony for 2 years. During that time you've had various problems, mis-sexed snakes, sick snakes etc. You were also aware of him mis-representing some snakes he had for sale, yet you bought one. I guess because you knew what they were. To heck with everyone else.

So now you've had enough and decide to let everyone else know about the mis-representations and the poor husbandry conditions. You really don't have a specific deal to complain about you've just had enough. Sorry, you may, or may not, maintain your snakes better but ethically you're about the same. IMO
 
Brian, can you provide timelines or more details, as several people have asked? I see you are viewing this thread right now.

You asked me why you would just come here to make accusations that weren't true. A lot of people do it. This thread will never go away; anytime anyone searches for Anthony Hosek it'll show up.

Like David said, YOU started this. You really need to elaborate now. The longer you ignore these questions, the more doubt is cast on your accusations.

I'd really like to hear the other side, too. Like I said, I emailed Anthony. Does anyone know another way to get in contact with him so that he can come here and face his accuser?
 
I've been a member of Cornsnakes.com since 2006. I've been an active member on that forum since the day I joined. I signed up for an account tied to an email that I deleted a while ago and I don't recall the name of it. I signed up an account recently because I planned on posting some snakes on here. I hatched out some Phantom Blood Reds recently amongst a lot of really other nice corns. It was when I wasn't into corn snakes. I was 13 then. I'm almost 26 now. I started getting into snakes more towards the end of high school until now, so I know how to take care of my herps. I also stated that Anthony is the only breeder that I've ever gotten an adult from who died on me. I also got a few hatchlings from Anthony which are still alive today.

When the first two died, he offered me great deal on some hatchlings I picked up to redeem the bad transaction previous. So I appologize to all of you if it sounded like I'm only bashing him. I'm not bashing him; rather letting you all know my experience with him so you won't have to go through the same ordeal. Were all here in the snake world to help one another out with what we all obviously love, reptiles!

If you take a look at Anthony's profile, you'll notice he joined in 2010. Again, I've been on the cornsnakes.com forums since 2006.

Laterob, I'm sorry I couldn't get to you guys quick enough. I have a life outside of snake breeding also. Don't we all? Why are you being so offensive over the whole situation? I'm offended by the way your trying to accuse me of something. Honestly why would I come on this site, just read this thread and then leave? Grow up, seriously. That's a little bit immature if you ask me. Especially with you saying the comment about maybe they died of loneliness. Especially with my plan to post some cool stuff on here.

After the Silverqueen died, I sent him a text message telling him that I was going to put up a thread on here (the boi) about him so that other people won't have the same encounter. He replied "Do what you think you have to do". As laterob stated, anthony has an account on here, so he can see this also or may have already.

The Silver queens were purchased no less than 6 months ago.

Pulling the you have a life card is not something you want to do in this situation. We all have lifes and that is pretty offensive, but if you are going to come here and make acusations you better take the time to back it up. I am assuming you didn't read the rules of the BOI. You cannot go posting a bad guy thread without solid evidence to back your claims. And telling good people to grow up when they are here to help solve problems really isn't going to gain people in your favor. Everyone has cool stuff to post on here doesn't make the things they say any more true :shrug01:
 
And just one more thing. No one here is acusing you of anything as you claimed Rob was. It would simply be unethical for anyone to believe your acusations if you do not have evidence i.e e-mails and texts to back up your claims. Sorry but this is just the way it is. OH SO MANY people come here making false claims so you must understand when we cannot take anyones word for absolute truth.
 
Seems to me when you do business with a guy for two years (or several deals over the past year, as the OP's friend claimed) and have more than one complaint, you'd stop doing business like after the first (or second) messed up deal. Call me crazy ....

And since you've admitted to being active on another forum since 2006, the "have a life" card doesn't exactly play out.

If you've been active on cornsnakes.com since '06, why wouldn't you mention the problems you claim you've encountered the last 2 years there, where you ARE a regular?

Just asking, not accusing ....
