Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Richard Gary Williams (roach 75) Mites Come Free!!!

im not sure what happened with your package. I didnt read this post before I purchased from him. So far the BP I baught looks free of mites and healthy. I cant say anything about your situation but from what I saw they seemed clean. Even if I dont see mites I still treat them just incase. but even after I treated this baby, I still didnt see any mites. He has some more upcoming babies that im interested in so I will post a reply about those as well. I see the pictures you posted and it does look like alot of mites that sucks but maybe this was a lesson well learned for him and he is making sure nothing has mites now?

He never offered to take them back!!! I also wouldn't trust him enough to send them back because someone who would send snakes in that condition can't be trusted to refund my money IMO. Heck even the refund for the mite treatment and shipping bounced!!! Sorry but the calico looked poor and was the most mites when it arrived and Richard even said he had someone watching his collection not so long ago and that he had a lot of snakes that got in poor condition due to it. I then asked him if mine were in good health and he assured me they were. Also I called to buy the calico not the pastel and spider but Richard keep telling me how good of a deal he would give me if I got them and so after taking some time to think about it I called him back and bought them as well. It wasn't a good deal and I would be more than willing to send them back if I though he would refund my money but I don't trust him.

Reguarding christina and everyone else who may decide to have the time to read all of these messages. I will fully agree that the shipping issue and not contacting you is fully unacceptable. But on a better note I will say on his behalf the animals have been in and out of his hands alot recently (about a month + ago), but as of three weeks ago i saw the whole collection. Every snake I picked up was mite free no RI and looked well feed. I find it hard to believe that you could have recieved a thin snake when someone produces a fair amount of rodents weekly.I dont know if he had shipped you something and you were expecting more of it and this is why you are doing all of this. But lets put it this way. the calico being thin i will tell you right off the bat it was not thin. I personaly saw it packaged to richard for shipping and it was not thin at all. And the person which sent it to richard which i will not throw any names out there being one of the top rated people on here with ton of sales wouldnt send an animal not in tip top shape. And that animal sold to you VERY short after. I personaly think ruining a persons rep due to frustration with the deal is unacceptable. Bottom line the both of you should have handled it more responsible. richard by making sure all his animals were eatting sending you pic proof, check for mites ( spray prior just in case), and contacting you and keeping up more updated on the shipping process and not promising something he couldnt do. Now you if you recieved sick ill or injured animals should have asked for an immediate refund. You speak about lawyer...........for what you open the box and found it to be acceptable enough to care for. If you choose to keep the snakes, he indeed should have payed for mite treatment if they did have them. But you bottom line to start up this whole scene for something is partially your responsiblity as a reptile owner is not very adult like. You are a 100% right no you shouldnt have recieved them in that condition but you choose to keep the animals instead of returning them and getting your money back. Now sounds to me there must have been something good about the deal to go through a 60 mile drive and $20 in mite treatment. Because i know darn well if i got sent that and it wasnt what i payed for it would be sent right back. Thats like being sent 10 pied females for a 100 bucks and they had mites id treat them and not send them back why because its not worth sending back so theres something under this whole story that isnt queit right. dont you think readers?

Uhhh... No Child Left Behind?

I would say the reason the calico was thin was because it probally was anemic from the blood sucking mites.

I would say he is trying to clean up his act and I feel proud that I may be responsible for that change. You can't stay in business for long if you sell mite covered animals. Sounds like you got some good BP's and yes it's a great idea to go ahead and treat them, better safe than sorry. I personally will never do business with him, I won't even take the free spinner he tried to give me.

A snake can pick up a heavy mite infection fast in a house that has mites running a muck however I sure would like to know who this third party is.

Yea I can see it was a tough situation for both of you. I understand you trying to help other people from buying sick BP's, but I say everyone deserves a second chance. From what I read it seems like there was a comunication issue that blew out of proportion. It seemed like he really tried to resolve the issue but timing was an issue. At the end of all this you have to admit he did try to resolve the issue. At the same time I probably would have been frustrated too. Arguing back and forth about it and bringing it up wont change what happened. Since my experience with Richard was a pleasant one, I will more than likely purchase from him again. If he did have a might issue, he sure cleaned up because I didn't see any when I checked out a few he had available. Not everyone is perfect. Hopefully you 2 can forgive each other and end this hatred =)

Communication sucked but that's not much of a problem...someone who lies about the conditions of snakes and then writes me a hot e-check on a refund will never get a second chance from me. I still have no idea if the spider is fine or not, the spider still refuses to eat (which hopefully is just her being stubborn) but it's probably time to get a vet appointment to be sure. The other two are fine now.

Here is proof of his hot E-check he send to me on 7-2-11. I will call PayPal tomorrow and find out if my refund came from them or him. Either way it bounced and took two weeks for my refund.

No it's like paying $1400 and $95 for shipping for a skinny low white calico that was covered in mites, a pastel with mites and a none eating spider with a bad wobble covered in mites. The spider and pastel never went which I will say Richard didn't guarantee them to but I have a odd feeling about it. I wonder if they had already laid or if they were breed at all, the only reason I question this is because of his ethics. Like I said he talked me into the spider and pastel, he kept telling me it was a unreal deal that I would never get a chance like this again... I sure hope I never geat a deal like this again. LMAO

That Zoomed crap works about as good as Shed Aid.

What do you mean. The zoo med stuff is great for mites. I used it once and the next day about 10 times as many mites were swimming in the stuff like a giant spring break pool party. All alive and well and carrying on like there was no tomorrow (which, sadly there was.) If that is not good for the mites I don't know what is:)

rule number one of snake trades is quarantine and spray for mites. And $1400 for a $800 spider a $500 pastel and $700 calico sounds like a deal. i will not argue with you you seem to not no the reptile world well enough. bottom line he was wrong and made a mistake. he paid you for your shipping and a $100 for mites........never seen $100 in mite spray before but ok. And offered you a spinner male or female for the inconvenience. Might i add you never asked for a refund upon arrival of animals. but he now has solved your problems gone out of his way to offer you a free snake, and all you have to say is i wouldnt send them back i dont trust him. One day you will realize when you recieve a snake you open the box you dont like it or it was not what was expected you get on the phone right away, apparently he was willing to work with you as you yourself stated. You are the one bashing the man with trust issuses and blowing this out of proportion. As an honorable man he did his part to fix his wrong doing and a free spinner to make you happy. if there is an issuse upon arrival of animals they should have been vet checked with documentation stating the animals were sick and unhealthy prior to you recieving them.. By the way that spider has no eatting problems, it eats african soft furred rats.

Are you kidding me!!! I sure in the H*LL wouldn't have bought a snake that eats soft furred rats!!!! I asked him what they ate and he told me NORMAL rats!!!! Well I don't have soft furred rats so it looks like Richard wanted a sale so bad he didn't care if the snake starved or not. This guy is awful!

As for mite treatment here is what I got The total comes to $104.94. I got 2 cans of R.I.D. bedding spray (4.00 each bottle), 1 bottle zoo med mite off (5.95), 2 cans Provent A Mite ($17.75 each), 1 bottle of Reptile Relief (6.99) Ivomec $48.00.

If you ever have to deal with mights again, you dont need all that stuff to get rid of the mites. All you need is 2 oz. of NIX lice shampoo mix that with a gallon of water and a bottle or two of the RID bedding spray. BTW the RID bedding spray, is pretty much the same thing as Prevent a Mite...

Thanks for trying to help but if I ever get mites again I will only use Provent a Mite and Ivomec. Oh and the isomers are different in Rid bedding spray than Provent a Mite.

thanks alex for taking the words out of my mouth 1 proper treatment with nix (1 bottle of nix in a spray bottle fill the rest of the spray bottle up with water shake well) and a can of provent a mite you will see no more mites. Be very carefully upon spraying the nix harmfull if you allow it to get in the mouth of animal. Make sure to take out water dishes when you apply the nix to the animal. Rinse snake off the following day VERY well and and put the water dish back in and that will be the one time treatment will never have to do it again unless you get mites again. By the way mites is nothing new to an av herper, very common when you bring in animals. In addition to bringing in animals if your rodent supplier isnt carefull and doesnt treat his rodents for mites every once and awhile you can get them that way too. Hope you dont put your rodent supplier on blast as you did to richard or else there will be alot of dead snakes in your area from lack of eatting.

I breed my own rodents so I have control over my food source. It's scary to think Richard is selling feeders hope they are located far away from his snakes.

Richards lies have got me in a rock and hard spot since I do not want a Spider that eats African soft furred rats.

tim, If you think he should be forgiven for sending me snakes that had a extreme infection of mites that anyone could see, and you think it's no big deal he lied about what my spider eats, and the fact he sent me a hot e check... then you have bad morals and I would advise everyone to steer clear of you. He did this to me on purpose to make money!!!! It's not like the snakes came in with two mites that could have been missed this was a full scale mite infection.
