Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Jim Talioferro - Dead Shipment/Unresponsive

Wow. That is just absolutely terrible. That poor poor girl. Regardless of what happens next, she'll never get a second chance.

I could be wrong, but I think I remember several ads by Jim Taliaferro for cheap sulcatas. I don't see any now, but digging around I came up with this deleted thread: http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/forums/showthread.php?t=257228 ...could a mod see if it was relevant, or if he had other deleted ads with relevant info or different pictures?
 
Also has ads online on other sites (craigslist and others) for non-animal items, using the same phone number.

He had several ads but they were duplicates for the same two females, the one this thread is about and another smaller one. The other listings for this female contained the same text and pictures.
 
Wow!!! This guy and his wife seem as stupid as those idiots that leave their baby or dog locked in the car during a heat wave to go shopping. I am thinking they should be prosecuted for animal cruelty. The pictures make you wanna cry because it's so obvious with the look on her face, she really suffered ALOT!!!

Just did a little research. Apparently Medium sized tortoises should be packed in a box large enough for them to right themselves should they be flipped, and that box placed into another box. Basically, instead of a plastic container, a box. Or very large tortoises would need to be shipped via Airlines in a dog crate.

So, according to that, no, he should NOT have been taped at all.
 
Not sure if it's the same guy or not, but aguy has been posting 2 adult males and an afult female for sale on CL. The price sounds right, but adds kept getting deleted do to him listing prices fro the 3 animals. On the add, BOTH males were listed as being over 20", the female I think was listed at 19". Very sorry for you situation and wish you the best on your dealings with this person.
 
That sucks! What are people thinking when shipping.There are so many directions and knowledgable shippers out there to make sure this doesn't happen! Just a real shame.

After looking at the pictures, I'm wondering whether the critter was alive when it was shipped.....
 
I feel sorry for all this "person"s" animals. That poor thing should not have had to deal with that. He really doesn't deserve to keep what he has. I really do hope he explains, and refunds the OP-he can't really make it RIGHT because that poor tortoise never had a chance.

I have downloaded some software to pull the sms/text conversations and will post them this evening once I can get to my Itunes.

I will squeeze some time to get a timeline assembled for everyone.
